Dairy Barn Fire - 50 Head Unaccounted For

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) On May 20, 2019, at approximately 5:00 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Mapleton Fire/Rescue responded to a structure fire on Concession 6 south of the Village of Moorefield. It was reported that a dairy barn was engulfed in flame.

While some of the cattle had been removed from the barn an estimated 50 head are unaccounted for. Fire Services are currently battling the blaze and the road remains closed for emergency operations.
