Speeding On Harriston Road Leads To Vehicle Impoundment

(HOWICK, ON) - A 55-year-old female driver from Everett will be returning to court in Huron County this February following a Racing charge that was laid by police last week.

On January 2, 2019 at approximately 12:25 p.m. Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers observed a pickup truck travelling on the outskirts of Gorrie on Harriston Road well over the posted 60 km/h speed limit. A RADAR device was used to confirm their observations and the vehicle was found to be travelling in excess of 50 km/h over the speed limit.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was subsequently charged. 55-year-old Karen BRIGGS from Everett has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle. Her driver's licence was automatically suspended for seven days and her vehicle was also impounded for a week.
