(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – Canada Road Safety Week, along with Victoria Day Long Weekend Traffic Safety Campaign, focused on education and enforcement with the focus on encouraging safe driving habits.
The West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) participated in these campaigns this past weekend. Officers were out patrolling the roads, trails and waterways in the West Parry Sound District. Many motorists were subjected to education through enforcement. Below are some of the charges from the weekend.
Driving impaired by alcohol or drugs: 2
Failure to use or improper use of seat belts: 2
Off-Road Vehicle Act contravention: 1
Speeding, 1 to 49 km/h over posted speed limit: 170
Other Provincial Offence Notices: 39
