Vernon WARD – Drive While Suspended, No Insurance

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) -On June 21, 2014, at approximately 8:52 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a male driving a motor assisted bicycle on Margaret Street, Harriston. Upon further inspection, the officer believed the vehicle to be a motor vehicle. This male was not to be operating a motor vehicle because of a court order. He was arrested for breaching his Recognizance Order and transported to the North Wellington Operations Centre.

The male was also a suspended driver and did not have insurance on the motor vehicle.

Vernon WARD age 46 of Harriston is charged with;

Fail to Comply with Recognizance Order-Criminal Code
Driver While Under Suspension-Highway Traffic Act
Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance-Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act

He was held for a bail hearing on the June 23, 2014.
