VEHICLES DAMAGED AND ENTERED

(ALNWICK-HALDIMAND TWP, ON) – Overnight on Sunday June 22, 2014 unknown culprits vandalized a series of motor vehicles in the Lakeport area of Alnwick-Haldimand Township.

Starting at approximately 9:00 am on Monday June 23 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received five complaints of vehicles being entered sometime overnight. Three of the five vehicles were locked and sustained scratch damage to the doors where the suspects attempted to gain entry but were unsuccessful. The other two vehicles were left unlocked and had a black iPod docking station, two pairs of high end sunglasses along with a flip phone and $20 in change stolen respectively.

Also, one unlocked vehicle was reported entered in the Municipality of Port Hope that had a small quantity of coins taken.

Northumberland OPP has been reporting consistently for months that people need to lock their vehicles and secure their property. In most cases, the property is never recovered.

OPP are continuing to investigate these incidents.
