(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFF, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate after an unidentified projectile, believed to be from a small caliber, high velocity firearm, struck a residence on Carney St., in the Township of Georgian Bluffs on Monday, June 16, 2014.
At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 16th, the home owners heard a loud “popping†sound. A short time later they discovered debris of wood splinters in the master bedroom. After further examination of the residence they located what appeared to be a bullet hole through the 2nd story exterior frame siding of their home.
Investigation revealed that the projectile penetrated the exterior wall and passed through a total of three rooms on the upper floor.
The OPP Forensic Identification Unit – Mount Forest was called to assist.
Two adults and one child were inside the residence at the time. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Police believe this was an isolated incident.
