(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On May 10, 2014, just before 2:30 p.m., Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Harwich North Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Highway 401 near Mull Road.
For reasons unknown at this time, a tractor trailer travelling westbound on Highway 401 left the roadway, crossed the centre median and entered the eastbound lanes, striking an eastbound car.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team has been called in to assist with the investigation.
As the investigation is in the early stages, the Highway is expected to be closed in both directions between Kent Bridge Road and Communication Road for several hours while the investigation continues.
