(DRYDEN, ON.) – On May 25 2014, officers from the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Mutrie Township. Officers arrived at the scene shortly after 6am and observed a Westbound Mustang convertible had collided with a Eastbound Tractor Trailer Unit. The driver of the Mustang, Adrian CHAPADOS (37yrs old) of Saskatchewan was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the mustang, Frisco MCRAE (18yrs old) of Quebec was transported to hospital with serious injury by ambulance, he succumbed to his injuries while at hospital. The occupants of the Tractor Trailer Unit were uninjured.
The Technical Traffic Collision Unit (TTCI), Highway Safety Division (HSD), Ministry of Environment (MOE) and Transfield all attended the scene. The highway was closed for approximately 6 hours. No charges have been laid.
