TRUCK DRIVER CHARGED AFTER COLLISION

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – At about 6:34 pm on Thursday May 22, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a fail to remain motor vehicle collision on westbound Highway 401 involving a vehicle into the ditch.

OPP received two calls with respect to a tractor trailer forcing a 2014 white Buick Regal into the ditch east of Big Apple Drive (exit 497) on Highway 401 in Cramahe Township. The tractor trailer was being followed by a witness.

Police were provided details of the tractor trailer and it was eventually stopped by OPP west of County Road 45 in Cobourg.

Bernard THERIAULT, 57 from Bathhurst, New Brunswick had been served a Provincial Offence Notice under the Highway Traffic Act for change lane not in safety. The driver of the Buick was not injured.
