(ORILLIA, ON) – On June 17, 2014 at approximately 3:43 a.m., Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were notified of a theft of a motor vehicle from an address on Burnside Line in Severn Township.
Officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle that was stolen from the residence stuck in a ditch at the front of the property. Police were advised by the owner that he had observed 3 males running from his vehicle into the woods. The OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) was contacted and attended to assist with the search for the males.
An officer assisting with the search in the area located the three wet males as they came out of the woods. All three were arrested and transported to Orillia detachment.
John HIPWELL, 18 years old of Orillia, was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Trespass by Night. He was held in custody and will next appear in court in Barrie on June 18, 2014.
Lee MACK, 24 years old of Orillia, was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Trespass by Night. He was held in custody and will next appear in court in Barrie on June 20, 2014.
Stuart MACNEIL, 18 years old of Orillia, was charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Trespass by Night. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in Orillia on July 29, 2014.
