(HEARST, ON) – On Tuesday May 27, 2014, members of Constance Lake First Nation (CLFN) plan to protest at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 663, which leads to the community of Constance Lake, approximately 30 kilometers west of the community of Hearst, Ontario.
The anticipated peaceful demonstration/blockade is to occur between 3 pm and 5 pm by protestors who will be closing the highway intermittently in order to bring awareness to Murdered and Missing Aboriginal Women.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is aware of the anticipated demonstration/blockade and is committed to maintain order and ensure public and officer safety during that period of time.
The OPP is requesting that all motorists traveling along the Highway 11 corridor, near the demonstration area, exercise patience during the anticipated traffic delays.
