A veteran police officer of the Owen Sound Police Service faces numerous charges under the Police Services Act following an internal and external investigation.

At the request of Bill Sornberger, the Chief of the Owen Sound Police Service, the investigation was conducted by an external police service, following a complaint into the conduct of the officer.

The recently concluded investigation commenced in November 2013. The investigation involved allegations of misconduct of the officer from February to July of 2013. The investigation pertained to a personal relationship commenced by the officer, with a victim of alleged crime, after becoming involved in that investigation. The complaint was not initiated by this victim.

Constable Brian Follis, who has eight years of service, has been charged with six counts of Discreditable Conduct, five counts of Neglect of Duty, two counts of Deceit and one count each of Insubordination and Breach of Confidence.
