OPP INVESTIGATING THEFT FROM PORT DOVER CEMETERY

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding the public to protect their property and valuables against would be thieves after receiving a report of a theft from a Blueline Road, Woodhouse, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

Between Sunday, May 18, 2014 and Sunday, June 15, 2014, unknown suspects attended the Port Dover Cemetery and proceeded to remove a brass flower holder from a grave site.

The holder is described as having a thin chain attached with a handle that protruded from the ground to allow the holder to be removed.

The theft is estimated at approximately $1,000 dollars.

The OPP would like to remind all community residents that if they see suspicious persons or vehicles, try to obtain as much detail as you can, write down the person(s) description, the type of vehicle they are driving and the licence plate number.

Then don’t delay, call the police and report it. 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122 will put you in contact with the nearest O.P.P. Communications Centre to report the activity. OPP (677) on your cellular will also work.
