(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) -On June 18, 2014 at approximately 12:58 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a contractor that was performing work behind the Wellington County Library-Rockwood Branch. Damage was caused to a natural gas line by the workers and Union Gas quickly responded to the scene to shut down the gas line.
A road closure occurred on Main Street North, Rockwood from Jackson Street to the South Wellington County OPP Operations Centre for approximately 15 minutes. Officers along with members of the Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department knocked on the doors of seven homes to evacuate residents for safety reasons. No one was injured with this incident.
