(Prince Edward County, ON)â€â€On June 19, 2014 at 1:49am officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment were called to the Picton Marina regarding two suspicious males attempting to steal a boat. OPP located one male hiding in the water under a pier. The second male suspect fled on foot. The OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP K-9 were activated, however, were unable to locate the second suspect.
36-year old male, James ARMSTRONG of Picton is charged with Theft, contrary to Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada and Trespass by Night, contrary to Section 177 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on July 23, 2014.
