Numerous Thefts from Unlocked Vehicles in BATH

(Napanee, ON)- The Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to several theft occurrences over the past few weeks.

Several homeowners reported their unlocked sheds/garages entered overnight. Also several unlocked vehicles were entered and items were stolen.

Vehicle owners are reporting that any items that are being left in the interior are being taken. Small change, Canadian Tire money, sunglasses, and cigarettes. A resident on Old Wilton Rd reported a theft of a chainsaw and skill saw. A resident on Westbury Ave reported that a bicycle had been stolen from their property. This bicycle was later found by police while investigating another theft in the area. The bicycle was returned to the rightful owner.

Investigators believe that many more vehicles and garages were likely entered and encourage homeowners to check their property to ensure that they are not victims of theft. If you discover items stolen please contact police.

OPP would also ask that citizens “Lock it or Lose it”. Locking your vehicle doors discourages theft of contents of your vehicle. Please don’t leave valuables (cell phones, electronics, wallets, purses, etc.) in the vehicle.

Napanee OPP would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to these thefts or the person(s) responsible. If you wish to remain anonymous please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at tipsubmit.com.
