MULTIPLE UNLOCKED VEHICLES ENTERED

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On Monday, June 23, 2014, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated multiple thefts from vehicles in the Township of Chatsworth.

Sometime overnight on Sunday, June 22nd, unknown person(s) were responsible for entering at least 5 unlocked vehicles in and around the village of Chatsworth. Three wallets had been removed from the vehicles; the contents of which were strewn about the area. Some of the property was recovered by pedestrians and turned over to police.

Once again, the OPP remind vehicle owners that these types of thefts are a crime of opportunity. An unlocked door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. By remembering to always roll up the windows, lock the doors, and keep valuables out of plain view; could prevent thefts from occurring. Remember ….. Lock it or lose it!
