(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A vehicle stop recently conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in a racing charge.
On May 21, 2014 an OPP officer was on patrol and observed a motor cycle travelling at 141 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Tracy’s Hill Road, with a passenger on the motor cycle.
The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle and charged the driver, Mitchell TEMPRO, 29 years of age, with racing, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. His driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days and the motor cycle was towed from the scene.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on June 10, 2014.
