(CALEDON, ON) – On April 28th, 2014 at 11:30 pm, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol in the vicinity of the Belfountain Conservation area located at 10 Credit Road. The officer located an unattended black Honda Civic and while in the vicinity, observed 2 males walking out of the Conservation area on foot. The males approached the marked cruiser and the officer warned them about trespassing in the Conservation area. While the officer was engaged in conversation with the 2 males, the driver of the vehicle left the area at a high rate of speed. Subsequently, the officer pursued the vehicle as he was evading police. The officer conducted a vehicle stop on Bush Street.
Upon speaking with the male driver, the officer detected a strong odour of drugs, believed to be marijuana coming from the inside of the motor vehicle. Further, the officers located drug paraphernalia at the driver’s feet. The male was arrested and a search uncovered a quantity of drugs, believed to be marijuana, inside the leg of the accused’s pants and inside the motor vehicle.
In conclusion, Richard MacKenzie DOMJAN, 20, of Erin was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule II substance and is facing a charge under the Trespass to Property Act.
He was released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 9th, 2014
