Members of the OPP, Correctional Services of Canada and other law enforcement agencies will bring the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics to Picton on Thursday, May 22nd.
The event will commence at 9:30 am at the Crystal palace (375 main Street) and loop through the downtown area. From Picton, the Torch Run will move to Napanee.
Officers and volunteers will have their buckets out, seeking donations to support Special Olympics Ontario.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a running event in which officers and athletes run with the “Flame of Hopeâ€Â. Funds raised through the Torch Run assist programs which directly impact all local community-based Special Olympics activities.
It is through the dedication, commitment and passion of the people in Law Enforcement that enables the Ontario program to continue to be not only the #1 fundraising arm for Special Olympics Ontario, but a world-class program recognized Internationally for raising in excess of $1,000,000 each and every year!
