(ALNWICK HALDIMAND, ON) – On Sunday May 25, 2014 a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer came across a stranded motorist on Highway 401 that required assistance.
The officer was eastbound on Highway 401 just west of County Road 23 early Sunday afternoon on general patrol when she observed a vehicle that appeared to have broken down on the shoulder with smoke coming out of the engine. The officer stopped to help the young male driver. While the two were making arrangements to have the vehicle removed from the highway, a passerby stopped as well to offer assistance. The male driver indicated that he did not have any money for a tow truck when the passerby graciously opened his wallet and handed $80 to the stranded male and told him to “pay it forward sometimeâ€Â.
The male accepted the money with gratitude and the OPP would like to thank the Good Samaritan for his generosity.
