(Champlain, ON) – In the late afternoon of Thursday June 12th, shortly after 5:30 pm, Hawkesbury OPP Constables Luc Côté and Bradley Giroux responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision at Caledonia Road in Champlain Township just south of Ritchance Road.
The investigation revealed that the driver had lost control of her red Ford Mustang and had driven onto a field across a ditch. The contact with the driver gave the officer reason to believe that the driver had consumed alcohol and that her blood alcohol concentration was above the permitted limit. The driver was consequently arrested for driving while having blood alcohol content above 80 mgs per 100ml of blood.
Consequently, the driver Francine LAVOIE (51 yrs) of Champlain Twp was charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with section 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood.
She is scheduled to appear in court on July 17th in L’Orignal.
