(NAPANEE, ON)- On Saturday May 10th at 01:28 a.m. 2014 officers with the Napanee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a RIDE program at Old Hwy 2 and Hwy 49 in Tyendinaga Twp.
During the RIDE check, an officer began a traffic investigation with a male driver. A 22 year old male from Tyendinaga was operating a motor vehicle, and was issued provincial offences for the following HighwayTraffic Act related offences: Use plate not authorized for vehicle, Class G1 licence holder, unaccompanied by qualified driver, Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner, and Drive while passenger under 16 fails to properly wear a seat belt.
In addition to the above charges the male driver is to appear in Provincial Court in Napanee on 05th June 2014 to answer to the charges of Operate Motor Vehicle on a Highway – No Insurance, and Drive Motor Vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device while being prohibited from doing so., under the Highway Traffic Act.
