DUPONT & KEMBLE

(STRONG TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two people with numerous offences after conducting a routine traffic stop.

On March 29, 2024, shortly after 8:30 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands OPP conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was speeding, on Highway 11 in Strong Township. An investigation led to the arrest of the two occupants, and a subsequent search of the vehicle.

Police seized drugs suspected to be cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphine tablets, fentanyl, and approximately $1700 dollars in Canadian currency. The street value for the drugs seized was approximately $ 10,000. Police also seized a loaded rifle, ammunition, brass knuckles, break and enter tools, numerous knives, and a mask.

As a result of the investigation, Cassandra KEMBLE, 31-years-old of Whitby was charged with the following:

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·      Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution of obstruct justice (Identity Fraud)

·      Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Fail to stop on right for emergency vehicle

·      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

·      Fail to surrender insurance card

·      Driving while under suspension – two counts

·      Speeding 1- 49 Km/h over posted limit

Further, Kenneth DUPONT, 40-years-of-old of Windsor was charged with:

·      Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm

·      Personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution of obstruct justice (Identity Fraud)

·      Transport firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition in a careless manner

·      Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court – three counts

·      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

·      Unauthorized possession weapon

·      Possession of a schedule I substance – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking -Opioid (other than heroin)

·      Possession property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

Both accused were held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.

Weapons & Drug Bust – Teen With Drugs Named – Armed Adults Remain Anonymous #FilmThePolice

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – The Community Street Crime Unit (C.S.C.U.) of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a third person in a drug trafficking investigation in Arthur.

Kyle James George Alan WILLIAMS-GALLEY, 19-years-old of Wellington North, was charged with Possession of a Schedule I substance (Cocaine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on May 3, 2024.

On March 20, 2024, the C.S.C.U of the Wellington County OPP concluded a drug trafficking investigation and executed a search warrant in Arthur, Kitchener and North Dumfries. A 28-year-old from Wellington North and 31-year-old from Kitchener were charged. A firearm and drugs were seized.

Numerous Firearms Charges For Miguel OLSZEWSKI

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) were involved in a drug investigation which led to the arrest of two individuals.

On March 26, 2024, Officers seized approximately $6500 worth of Fentanyl, a cellular device and approximately $5000 in Canadian Currency, as a result of an investigation that had been ongoing since early March, officers located and arrested an individual who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Miguel OLSZEWSKI, 26 years old of Bancroft, Ontario, has been charged with:

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition order- three counts

·        Possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo- two counts

·        Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm- two counts

·        Unauthorized possession of a firearm- three counts

·        Fail to comply with Probation order- three counts

·        Careless use of a firearm

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl

·        Possession property obtained by Crime Under $5000

OLSZEWSKI was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 27, 2024.

Jill PRICE, 41 years old of Bancroft, Ontario, has been charged with Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm. PRICE will be attending a bail hearing on a later date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville, Ontario.

$300,000 Meaford Drug Bust – Names Released

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – Two individuals were charged following an investigation into drug trafficking and the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On March 27, 2024, at 5:00 am, members of Grey Bruce CSCU with assistance of the Huron-Perth CSCU, Wellington CSCU as well as members of the Tactics & Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at a property on Concession Road 2 North in the Municipality of Meaford.

During the search officers discovered and seized a quantity of cocaine, ketamine, crack cocaine, along with Canadian currency, firearms, and drug paraphernalia. The value of the seized controlled substance is estimated to be $300,000.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 59-year-old Ian Harker of the Municipality of Meaford with:

  • Possession Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Meth
  • Possession Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Ketamine
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (four counts)

Charged with the following alleged offences is 45-year-old Amanda Armitage of the Municipality of Meaford with:

  • Possession Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Ketamine
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (four counts)

  • Breach of Firearms Regulation – Store Firearm or Ammunition (three counts)
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused parties were held pending a bail hearing.

Repeat Offenders Arrested In Weapons Bust

(LENNOX & ADDINGTON COUNTY / FRONTENAC TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged four people after the execution of two search warrants.

On March 20, 2024, shortly before 8:00 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence on Flinton Road in Lennox & Addington County. One person was located in the residence and arrested. Police seized a crossbow, assorted ammunition, and a firearms magazine.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Emily WOODCOCK, age 23, of Arden, Ontario, with:

  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on April 23, 2024.

On March 20, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m. a search warrant was executed at a residence on Queen Street in Arden. Three people were located in the residence and arrested. Police seized a long gun, and a crossbow.

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Dylan GODFREY-KELLAR, age 28, of Kingston, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order – other than attend court – two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Jeremy TEEPLE, age 46, of Arden, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with release order – other than court

As a result of this investigation, OPP has charged Patrick FRENCH, age 31, of Central Frontenac Township, Ontario, with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The three accused were held for a bail hearing and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

Cocaine & Weapons Bust

(PICTON, ON) – The East Region Community Street Crime Unit has arrested and charged two individuals after executing a search warrant in Picton yesterday.

On March 21, 2024 a search warrant was executed on Nery Avenue with the assistance of the East Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit. As a result of the warrant, officers seized a firearm, a prohibited device, ammunition and a quantity of suspected cocaine.

Thomas MCCUMBER, age 34 and Amber RODGERS, age 28, both from Prince Edward County were charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of weapon

Both individuals were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 22, 2024.

Road Rage – One Arrested – Name Released

(NAIRN-HYMAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a road rage incident on Highway 17.

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township.

It was reported that two vehicles had been involved in a road rage incident and stopped at the same truck stop. One driver brandished a knife and lunged at the other driver after being confronted. Police were able to locate the vehicle and arrest the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Dillaneous DUNCAN, 38-years-old, from Sudbury has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Use plate not in accordance with regulations
  • Commercial vehicle – follow too closely

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 6, 2024.

Bomb Investigation In Dryden – Two Arrested – Meth A Factor

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals after an incident that took place in the City of Dryden.

On March 16, 2024, officers from the Dryden Detachment were made aware of an individual possibly in possession of explosives. At this time an investigation was commenced.

As a result of the investigation, explosive devices along with suspected cocaine and methamphetamine were located. Two individuals were taking into custody and charged.

Maya Felske, 23-years-old from Dryden, ON charged with:

  • Explosives – Making or possessing for unlawful purposes.
  • Uttering Threats – Damage Property
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance – Methamphetamines
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

The accused person has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice for a bail hearing on March 18, 2024.

Micaila Lizotte, 21-years-old, from Dryden, ON charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine

The accused person has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on April 15, 2024.

The investigation was completed by the Dryden Detachment and North West Region Crime Unit with assistance from the OPP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU).

Armed Robbery – NICHOLSON & TORRANCE Arrested

(LAIRD, ON) – On March 9, 2024, shortly before 7:00 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an unwanted person at a residence on Neebish Road in Laird Township. Investigation revealed an individual entered the victim’s property and attempted to steal a vehicle, then returned a short time later with a second individual, and left with items belonging to the victim. The accused individuals fled the scene prior to police arrival.  

On March 13, 2024, police completed their investigation and arrested both accused individuals. As a result, Leslie NICHOLSON, 34 years-of-age, of Garden River First Nation was charged with:

  • Robbery with Weapon
  • Using Firearm while Committing Offence
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
  • Uttering Threats – Injure Animal
  • Theft Over $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was held for a bail hearing, and subsequently released by the Ontario Court of Justice.

Lucas TORRANCE, 36 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was charged with:

  • Robbery with Weapon
  • Theft Over $5,000

The accused remains in custody, following a bail hearing. 

Sault Ste. Marie OPP officers were assisted by Batchewana First Nation Police, Anishinabek Police Service, East Algoma OPP, North East Region Canine Unit, and Sault Ste. Marie Crime Unit.

Weapon & Meth Bust – Christopher PRUNNER Arrested

(WILLIAMSBURG, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) has seized numerous prohibited and restricted weapons from a home in Williamsburg, northwest of Morrisburg, and laid firearms related charged.

The investigation began in early March.

CSCU officers, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine Unit, Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit (PWEU) and members of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Detachment executed a search warrant on March 15, 2024, at a residence on Pruner Road.

They located and seized several shotguns, rifles, handguns ammunition and prohibited ammunition magazines which were not secured inside the home. Some of the firearms were loaded. Officers also seized a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Christopher PRUNNER, age 31 of South Dundas was arrested at the scene and has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts
  • Possession of a prohibited device
  • Careless storage of a firearm
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance – methamphetamine

The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 18, 2024.

Isaiah HRYNKIW Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest on March 1st, 2024, in the Town of New Tecumseth in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

On March 1st, 2024, members of the Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit, along with Collingwood Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Victoria Street in Alliston. As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 33 grams of cocaine, 10 oxycodone pills, $4,850.00 in Canadian Currency, 3 Cellphones, items used for packaging/scale, a prohibited weapon (switchblade), 12 Assorted weapons.

The following individual was arrested and charged with the following offences.

Isaiah HRYNKIW, 39 years of age from the Town of New Tecumseth.

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Traffick in Schedule 1 substance – Cocaine

·      Traffick in Schedule 1 substance – Other Drugs

·      Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Possession of proceeds of Property obtained by crime under $5000.00.

The accused party is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on April 11th, 2024.

$5 Million Drug Bust

In November of 2023, members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit commenced a drug and firearm trafficking investigation into a group of individuals supplying drugs and guns in Guelph and other jurisdictions in southern Ontario.

Following a complex investigation, several search warrants were executed Wednesday morning in Hamilton, Brampton and Mississauga with the assistance of the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft, Intelligence and Tactical units along with the Hamilton Police Service ERU team and the Provincial ROPE team. Three individuals were arrested, and the following items were seized during this project:

–         Six Glock handguns with multiple over-capacity magazines including a 50-round drum magazine with ammunition

–         A Kelt-Tec AR Style rifle and ammunition

–         An SKS semi-automatic rifle and 150 rounds of ammunition

–         Approximately 7 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3.5 kilograms of highly potent fentanyl and 5 kilograms of cocaine

A 37-year-old Brampton man faces multiple drug and firearm charges and was also arrested for violating parole. A 68-year-old Mississauga man is charged with multiple drug and firearm offences. A 33-year-old Hamilton man is charged with several drug offences. All were held for bail hearings.

Three of the Glock handguns have already been determined to have been stolen from the United States.

This is believed to be the largest seizure of fentanyl by the Guelph Police Service with a street value of $4.7 million.

The seized cocaine and methamphetamine have an estimated street value of $680,000.

“This seizure is a testament to the dedication of our members and their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community”, said Chief Gord Cobey. “We will continue in our efforts to target those who endanger the safety of our citizens by trafficking these illegal weapons and substances in our community.”

This project would not have been possible without the assistance of funding provided by the Ontario Government, Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario as well as assistance from members of the York Regional Police Service, Hamilton Police Service and the OPP ROPE Team.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachments Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of drugs.

In February of 2024, Orillia CSCU began investigating individuals who were allegedly trafficking drugs in the City of Orillia. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to gather evidence further advancing their investigation. On March 13, 2024 – satisfied with the information gathered the Orillia CSCU proceeded to the next steps in their investigation. With the assistance of Collingwood OPP CSCU, Orillia OPP Community Mobilization Unit (CMU) and Orillia OPP frontline members a search warrant was executed at an address on Barrie Rd in the City of Orillia and two persons were arrested and charged.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

  • fentanyl 142 grams
  • cocaine 62 grams
  • 8 oxycodone pills
  • two digital scales and packaging
  • three cellular devices
  • brass knuckles and flick knife
  • Canadian Currency $1500

Thomas Cleaveley, 67 years old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in April 2024.

Amen Turiko, 21 years old, of Brampton, has been charged with:

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Oxycodone

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stephanie MARTIN & Troy BOLGER Arrested – Details Released

(KALADAR, ON) – Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two people thanks to an alert citizen reporting a suspicious vehicle.

On March 12, 2024, shortly after 10:00 a.m., officers from the L&A County OPP received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked behind the Kaladar gas station at Highway 7 and County Road 41 with two people slumped over inside. Police attended to check on the welfare of the people and located the vehicle running with two people slumped over inside. Police spoke with the two people in the vehicle and observed drug paraphernalia and drugs in plain view. Police arrested and searched the two individuals and the vehicle. Police located several small containers of suspected fentanyl, one container of suspected oxycotin pills, several knifes, one being a prohibited butterfly knife, an airsoft handgun, and suspected fraudulent bank cards. The passenger of the vehicle was transported to hospital by Paramedic Services for a medical assessment and the driver was taken back to the police detachment for further testing.

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Stephanie MARTIN, age 45, of Pembroke, with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid – two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose – two counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Drive while under suspension

As a result of this investigation, L&A County OPP has charged Troy BOLGER, age 35, of Laurentian Valley Township, with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid – two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose – three counts
  • Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose

Both accused was held for a bail hearing and later released. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on a later date.

$629,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(TORONTO, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) has laid 63 charges against nine accused following a multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking investigation.

In October 2023, officers learned of individuals trafficking illicit drugs from the Greater Toronto Area to the City of London and various parts of Western Ontario. The investigation revealed that the individuals had also been trafficking illicit drugs to the Thunder Bay area.

On February 28, 2024, search warrants were executed at seven residences in Thunder Bay, London, Mississauga and Vaughan. PGNG seized the following items:

·      More than 3.2 kilograms of cocaine

·      More than 1.3 kilograms of powdered fentanyl

·      More than 135 grams of methamphetamine

·      Nearly 10 grams of MDMA ecstasy

·      More than 3,700 oxycodone tablets

·      More than 2,000 hydromorphone capsules

·      More than 8,000 hydromorphone (8mg) tablets

·      More than 35 alprazolam tablets

·      Nearly 80 acetaminophen and codeine tablets

·      Approximately 1500 millilitres of promethazine (liquid codeine)

·      Three loaded handguns

·      36 rounds of ammunition

·      Two magazines

·      Drug paraphernalia

·      Counterfeit currency

·      Three silver bars, 15 silver coins, and jewelry

·      One prohibited weapon (brass knuckles)

·      More than $210,000 in Canadian currency

The potential street value of the illicit drugs seized is approximately $629,000.

This investigation resulted in nine arrests and 63 charges laid under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Please refer to the Addendum of Charged Persons for additional information.
