Isaiah HRYNKIW Arrested

(NEW TECUMSETH, ON)- The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made an arrest on March 1st, 2024, in the Town of New Tecumseth in relation to a drug trafficking investigation.

On March 1st, 2024, members of the Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit, along with Collingwood Street Crime Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Victoria Street in Alliston. As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 33 grams of cocaine, 10 oxycodone pills, $4,850.00 in Canadian Currency, 3 Cellphones, items used for packaging/scale, a prohibited weapon (switchblade), 12 Assorted weapons.

The following individual was arrested and charged with the following offences.

Isaiah HRYNKIW, 39 years of age from the Town of New Tecumseth.

·      Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Traffick in Schedule 1 substance – Cocaine

·      Traffick in Schedule 1 substance – Other Drugs

·      Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·      Possession of proceeds of Property obtained by crime under $5000.00.

The accused party is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on April 11th, 2024.

3 Arrested Following Traffic Stop

(ORANGEVILLE, ON) – Members of the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges as a result of a traffic stop in the Town of Orangeville.

On March 12, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP officers while on general patrol were alerted of a traffic violation through the assistance of an

Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) device. The officers conducted a traffic stop on Broadway and were led into a criminal investigation.

As a result of the investigation three individuals were charged with multiple offences. The officers seized cash, cellphones, gloves, a balaclava, cannabis and alcohol.

Akeem MARTIN, 35-year-old male, from York, has been charged with:

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

Devon MIGNOTT, 33-year-old male, from Toronto, has been charged with:

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

·      Obstruct Peace Officer

Lee MURRAY, 48-year-old male, from Mississauga has been charged with:

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville at a future date in April 2024, to answer to the charges.

Kyle SCOTT Arrested Following Break & Enter

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been arrested in connection with a break and enter.

On Sunday, February 25, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a break-and-enter at an address on Grigg Drive in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that at some point in the evening or early morning, an unidentified individual or individuals attended the location, forcefully entered a storage unit on the premises, and stole a black 2011 Miska flatbed trailer, a white and orange Bobcat MT85 skid-steer loader and video surveillance equipment.

As a result of the investigation, Kyle SCOTT, 37-years-old of Norfolk County has been charged with the following Criminal Code offence:

  • Possession Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on April 9, 2024.

The trailer and skid-steer have been recovered; however, the investigation is continuing.

Hero Citizen Follows Criminals – Kaitlin EMMONS & Jonathan GLOVER Arrested #Catch&Release

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two residents of Forest with several criminal offences following a report of a break and enter in progress at a commercial property in South Huron on February 29th, 2024. 

On Thursday, February 29th, just after 4:00 p.m., Huron County OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Quebec Avenue in the Municipality of South Huron. The property owner discovered two suspects and a minivan on their property. The suspects fled the scene in the van, and the property owner followed, providing updates for police.

OPP officers from Huron, Lambton, and Middlesex Counties were involved as the suspect vehicle entered Middlesex and Lambton Counties, before being located stopped on private property in Bosanquet Township, Lambton County. A female was placed under arrest immediately, while the second male suspect was located hiding in the area. Officers transported both arrested parties to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for processing.

As a result of the investigation, the following charges have been laid:

Jonathan GLOVER, 42 years of age from Forest, Ontario has been charged with:

–      Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence,

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Fail to Comply with Release Order – (two counts).

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Tobacco Tax Act.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. 

Kaitlin EMMONS, 23 years of age from Forest, Ontario has been charged with:

–      Break, Enter a Place – Commit Indictable Offence,

–      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000,

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine.

The accused was additionally charged with offences found in the Tobacco Tax Act and Cannabis Control Act.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for April 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Treaty Three Police Service and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), has led to charges being laid against three local residents.

On March 6, 2024, just prior to 5:00 p.m., a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant was executed at a residence on Memorial Avenue, City of Dryden, where a quantity of fentanyl, morphine pills, oxycodone pills, Canadian currency, and evidence of drug trafficking were located.

As a result of the investigation, Glen LOZEJ, 60 years old, Erin SMITH, 45 years old, and Rosalyn MEKINAK, 44 years old, have been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (3 counts)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Additionally, Glen LOZEJ is also charged with obstruct police. Erin SMITH is also charged with fail to comply with release order and fail to comply with probation.

The accused individuals have been remanded into custody at the Kenora District Jail where they are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Kenora on March 11, 2024.

8 Break & Enters – Davyd KHOCHOLAVA Arrested

(ESSEX COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged after multiple Break and Enters were reported in Tecumseh and Lakeshore.

The Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) identified an individual who was responsible for eight Break and Enter investigations between May 21, 2023 and February 22, 2024.

As a result, on March 3, 2024, Davyd KHOCHOLAVA, 56 years-of-age of Windsor was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

·        Robbery with violence S.343(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

·        Break, Enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence S.348(1)(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

·        Break, Enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence S.348(1)(b) CC (SIX COUNTS)

·        Possession Break In Instruments S 351(1) CC (SIX COUNTS)

·        Disguise with Intent S.351(2) (TWO COUNTS)

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 S.354(1)(a) CC (ONE COUNT)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Windsor.

Jordan GEORGE Arrested

(HAYCOCK TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual regarding a report of a stolen vehicle.  

On March 4, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a report of a stolen pickup truck from a business in Kenora. Officers located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop; however, the vehicle failed to stop for police.

A short time later, the vehicle was located on Memorial Avenue in the City of Dryden. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP Detachment.

As a result, Jordan GEORGE, 33-years-old, of Wabigoon Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Flight from Peace Officer

·        Drive Motor Vehicle – no license

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in DRYDEN on April 15, 2024.

Repeat Offenders JOHNSON-SHIRLEY & Xander CORNELIUS-MILLER Arrested Again

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid firearms and drug related charges after vehicle failed to stop for police.  

On February 29, 2024, just after 11:00 a.m., an officer conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 10, in the Town of Caledon, attempted to stop a vehicle but it failed to stop. The vehicle was later located after being involved in a collision, but the occupants had fled the scene. With the assistance of the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the Peel Regional Police Canine Unit, two parties were located and arrested. The investigation also resulted in the seizure of two loaded prohibited firearms, a large quantity of drugs, and cash. 

O’Neal JOHNSON-SHIRLEY, 20, of Brampton was charged with: 

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid 

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – two counts

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – three counts

• Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With – two counts

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts

• Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – two counts

• Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Xander CORNELIUS-MILLER, 20, of Welland was charged with:

• Dangerous operation

• Flight from peace officer

• Fail to Comply with Sentence

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Opioid 

• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – two counts

• Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – three counts

• Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been Tampered With – two counts

• Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – two counts

• Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – two counts

Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 1, 2024, for a bail hearing.

Repeat Offenders GOODISON & COX Arrested Again

(SMOOTH ROCK FALLS, ON) – An alert on the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system led to several charges, and a 45-day vehicle impound.

On February 29, 2024, shortly after 1:00 p.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting patrol on Main Street in Smooth Rock Falls, when the ALPR system alerted the officer to a stolen licence plate. 

Police conducted a traffic stop on Ross Road, and confirmed that the licence plates were indeed stolen, the vehicle was not insured, and the driver’s licence was suspended under the criminal code, as well as the Highway Traffic Act.

As a result of the investigation, the driver Mitchell COX 31 years of age from Smooth Rock Falls was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
  • Failure to comply with probation order
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court on March 4, 2024, in Cochrane. 

In addition the passenger and vehicle owner, Krystal GOODISON 35 years of age from Smooth Rock Falls was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Failure to comply with probation order
  • Permit motor vehicle to be operated without insurance
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming the owner

The latter accused was released and scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 18, 2024 in Cochrane.

The vehicle was impounded for 45 days, as a result of the driver’s previous suspension under the criminal code.
