22 Year Old Facing Drunk Driving Charge

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 5, 2023, at 11:19 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a vehicle along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine. 

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Darren STECKLE, 22-years-old, from the Municipality of Bluewater was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on June 14, 2023, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Repeat Offender Arrested Again, Meth A Factor – LAW

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On May 5, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., officers with the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police were conducting a RIDE program on Wellington Road 21, Pilkington Township when a passenger vehicle entered the RIDE program. Investigation determined that the driver was wanted; however, the driver was uncooperative and attempted to resist arrest.

As a result of the investigation, Jason Francis LAW, 31-years-old of Puslinch has been charged with Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest, Failure to Comply with Release Order, Possession of Methamphetamine, and with Operation while Prohibited. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 30, 2023.

Wellington OPP Weekly Report

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to consolidate and streamline our notable traffic offences and publish a single weekly release.

On April 27, 2023, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a traffic complaint on Wellington Road 14, Wellington North Township.  As a result of the investigation, Lucas DERUITER, 21-years-old of Zorra Township has been charged with Operation while Impaired, Operation while Impaired – BAC (80 plus), and with Take Motor Vehicle without Consent. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 16, 2023.   

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to multiple reports of a passenger vehicle that was being operated in an erratic manner on Eighth Line, Mapleton. As a result of the investigation, Paul Jeffrey VIDIC, 38-years-old of Harriston has been charged with Operation while Impaired – BAC (80 plus). The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 19, 2023. 

On April 28, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m., an officer was on patrol and observed a passenger vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Elora Street South, Minto. The officer conducted a traffic stop and as a result of the investigation, Robert NOONAN, 30-years-old of Clifford has been charged with Operation while Impaired – BAC (80 plus) and with Speeding. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 19, 2023. 

On April 29, 2023, at approximately 10:40 a.m., an officer was patrolling George Street, Arthur and received an alert on the Automated License Plate Recognition system for a suspended driver. As a result of the investigation, Jeffrey BROCKELBANK, 34-years-old of Flesherton has been charged with Operation while Prohibited and with Driving while Under Suspension. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 20, 2023. 

On April 29, 2023, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a passenger vehicle being operated in an erratic manner on Tower Street South, Fergus. Officers located the vehicle and as a result of the investigation, Kevin CHAPMAN 58-years-old of Kitchener has been charged with Operation while Impaired – BAC (80 plus) and with Speeding. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on May 16, 2023. 

On April 30, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a dog that was not on a leash that had bitten multiple parties. As a result of the investigation, a 75-year-old of Fergus has been charged with two counts of Fail to Prevent Dog from Biting and with Fail to Restrain Dog by Leash. The defendant is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court on July 19, 2023 

On May 1, 2023, at approximately 7:00 p.m., an officer on patrol on Sixteenth Line, Mapleton Township received an alert on the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system for a possibly suspended driver. As a result of the investigation, Raymond NEAR, 47-years-old of Arthur, has been charged with Operation while Prohibited, Operation while Impaired, Operation while Impaired – BAC (80 plus) and with Care and Control of Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor.  The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on June 30, 2023. 

Anyone charged with Operation while Impaired- 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) or Failing to Comply with Demand receives a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment as per statute.

Anyone charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.

58 Over Limit – 14 Day Vehicle Impoundment & 30 Day Suspension

(WEST PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Waterloo driver after they were speeding more than 58 km/h over the limit in the Municipality of West Perth.

On April 12, 2023, at approximately 7:21 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Maddison Street West in West Perth, after it was found to be travelling 138 km/h in an 80 km/h limit zone.

As a result, a 20-year-old of Waterloo has been charged with:

–      Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive speed

A 30-day-driving suspension and 14 vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute. The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

Assault – One Sent To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) –On April 23, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assault at a private residential community on Highway 7, west of Guelph. It was reported that two known individuals had assaulted a resident and that the injuries were severe.

A 60-year-old resident was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing and is believed to be an isolated incident.

Middlesex OPP Weekend Report

(MIDDLESEX, ON) – Over the course of the weekend, members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were busy doing their part to keep our communities safe. 

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – RIDE Program results in 3-day Driving Suspension

On April 23, 2023, at 2:41 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were performing a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program on Longwoods Road in Middlesex Centre.

A vehicle entered the Program, at which time it was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized resulting in an ‘Alert’.

The drivers’ licence has been suspended for three days.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver Charged with Stunt Driving

On April 22, 2023, at 8:59 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County OPP, while on general patrol, observed a vehicle travelling at double the posted 60 km/h speed limit on Highbury Avenue in Middlesex Centre.

A traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, a 30-year-old of Mississauga was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed under the Highway Traffic Act.

The driver is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Provincial Traffic Court to speak to the charge.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Single Vehicle Rollover results in Impaired Charge

On April 22, 2023, at 11:47 a.m., members of the Middlesex OPP along with members of the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service were dispatched to the report of a single vehicle rollover on Littlewood Drive in Middlesex Centre.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Alexander SUMMERS, a 47-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on May 24, 2023.

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Traffic Complaint leads to Impaired Charge

On April 22, 2023, at 9:18 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to Elijah Road, Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, for the report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot.

Officers arrived on scene and located the vehicle, at which time the lone occupant was woken by officers.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Lus Kah Lah Kwas DOXTATOR, a 30-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 14, 2023.

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Stolen backhoe from business in Thames Centre

On April 22, 2023, at 7:36 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to a business at 21778 Nissouri Road in Thames Centre, for the report of a theft of a backhoe.

It was determined unknown individuals(s) entered the property sometime during the overnight hours and broke into a secured area on the property.

As a result, a 2014, yellow, Caterpillar 420F backhoe was stolen.

The investigation is continuing.

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – Arrest made in Break and Enter to Business

On April 22, 2023, at 3:22 a.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP were dispatched to an address at 14368 Elginfield Road in Lucan Biddulph for the report of an alarm at a business.

Officers arrived on scene and confirmed the business had been broken into.

Multiple officers attended the area along with OPP K9, at which time an individual riding away on a bicycle was located.

The individual was placed under arrest without incident.

As a result, Robert MARCHAND, a 54-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Break, Enter a place – with intent to commit indictable offence

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on June 14, 2023.

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Two-Vehicle Collision results in Careless Driving charge

On April 21, 2023, at 3:29 p.m., members of the Middlesex County OPP, the Middlesex London Paramedic Service and Middlesex Centre Fire were dispatched to the intersection of Highbury Avenue at Ten Mile Road in Middlesex Centre for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

The roadway was closed as a result of the collision and two involved individuals were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result, a 26-year-old of London, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving.

The driver is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Provincial Traffic Court to speak to the charge.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Stabbing – One Arrested

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County Detachment has charged an individual following an investigation of a reported stabbing.

On April 22, 2023, at approximately 3:44 a.m., Emergency services responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Stanley Street, Port Stanley.

Officers arrived on scene and an individual was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Jade ANTONE, 36-year-old of Port Stanley, Ontario was charged with:

  • Assault with a weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on June 13, 2023.

Another Meth Bust – DWARIKA

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Perth resident with multiple offences after being stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E) in the Municipality of North Perth.

On February 17, 2023, just before 8:30 p.m., a Perth County OPP a vehicle was stopped at a RIDE program on Krotz Street East in North Perth.

Through the course of investigation, officers learned that the driver was currently bound by a curfew condition.

As a result, Darryl DWARIKA, of North Perth, has been charged with:

–      Fail to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts)

–      Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Other drugs (two counts)

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Wellington OPP Weekly Report

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) – Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to consolidate and streamline our notable traffic offences and publish a single weekly release.

On February 9, 2023, at approximately 9:00 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 6 at Marden Road, Guelph/Eramosa. It was reported that four vehicles had been involved and that one person suffered injuries. One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old driver from Guelph, has been charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

On February 9, 2023, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported two vehicle collision on Smith Street, Arthur. As a result of the investigation, a 59-year-old driver form Wellington North, was charged with Driving while Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on May 17, 2023.

On February 9, 2023, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded a reported multi-vehicle collision on Highway 6 South, Puslinch. It was reported that three vehicles were involved, and one person suffered minor injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old driver from Burlington was charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on April 5, 2023.

On February 10, 2023, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a reported multi-vehicle collision on Brock Road South, Puslinch. It was reported that two vehicles were involved, and one person had suffered injuries. As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

On February 12, 2023, a member of the Wellington County OPP was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 7, Pilkington. At approximately 10:15 a.m., a black sedan was observed travelling well above the posted 60km/hr speed limit. As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old driver of Guelph, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on May 17, 2023.

On February 12, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a blue sedan on Tower Street South, Fergus. As a result of the investigation, a 44-yea-old driver from Conn, was charged with Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance, contrary to the Compulsorily Automobile Insurance Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on May 17, 2023.

On February 13, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a driver of a vehicle that was acting erratically on McLean Road, Puslinch. As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old from Brampton has been charged with Driving while under Suspension, Drive Commercial Vehicle without Required Inspection, Fail to Accurately Complete Daily Inspection Report and Fail to Surrender Completed Daily Inspection Report. The defendant is scheduled to appear before the provincial offences court on May 17, 2023. A business out of Port Elgin was also issued provincial offence notices for Fail to Ensure Daily Inspection is Conducted Properly and Permit Unlicensed Person to Drive commercial Motor Vehicle.     

On February 14, 2023, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a member of the Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a white sedan on the Hanlon Expressway Guelph. As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old driver from Guelph, was charged with Driving while Under Suspension and Drive Motor Vehicle, No Permit, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Further, the driver was also charged with Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance contrary to the Compulsorily Automobile Insurance Act. The defendant is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court – Guelph, on May 17, 2023.

On February 15, 2023, at approximately 3:30 p.m., an officer with the Wellington County OPP observed a black pickup truck traveling at approximately 129 km/hr in a posted 60 km/hr zone along Speedvale Ave. West. As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old of Kitchener has been charged with Stunt Driving and is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court on May 17, 2023. 

Anyone charged with Operation while Impaired- 80 Plus (mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood) or Failing to Comply with Demand receives a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment as per statute.

Elgin County Weekly Report

January 23, 2023 – January 29, 2023

(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin County Detachment would like to consolidate and streamline our notable traffic offences and publish a weekly release.

On January 23, 2023, at approximately 4:45 a.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a commercial vehicle travelling on the Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 115 Km/h in a posted 100 Km/h zone.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 28-year-old of Kitchener, Ontario was charged with:

·        Speeding 1 – 49Km/h over posted limit

Additionally, the commercial vehicle operator, a company from Windsor, Ontario was charged with:

·        Permit operation of commercial motor vehicle not equipped with working speed-limiting system

On January 23, 2023, at approximately 10:29 a.m., officers with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) responded to a two-vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) on St. Clair Road at Union Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

Both involved vehicles were only occupied by a driver. One driver sustained minor injuries and the other driver was uninjured.

As a result of the investigation, a 72-year-old of Dresden, Ontario was charged with:

·        Disobey stop sign – fail to stop

·        Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

On January 23, 2023, at approximately 1:15 p.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on the Westbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 140 Km/h in a posted 100 Km/h zone.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 43-year-old of Toronto, Ontario was charged with:

·        Speeding 1 – 49Km/h over posted limit

·        Driving while under suspension

·        Fail to surrender insurance card

·        Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

On January 23, 2023, at approximately 7:43 p.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on Highway 40, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, to verify the insurance status of the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old of Ridgetown, Ontario was charged with:

  • Driving while under suspension (Two Counts)

On January 24, 2023, at approximately 6:22 p.m., officers with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) responded to a two-vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) on St. Clair Road near Cedar Hedge Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The occupants of the involved vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old of Sarnia, Ontario was charged with:

·        Careless Driving

·        Driver fail to surrender licence

On January 25, 2023, at approximately 9:32 a.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a passenger vehicle, after it was found speeding on the Eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

Just prior to the traffic stop being initiated by police, the vehicle exited the Highway 401 at Victoria Road. The vehicle was observed travelling through the controlled intersection without stopping.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 41-year-old of Scarborough, Ontario was charged with:

  • Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
  • Disobey stop sign – fail to stop
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Fail to have insurance card

On January 26, 2023, at approximately 12:44 a.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a commercial vehicle travelling on the Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding 116 Km/h in a posted 100 Km/h zone.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 38-year-old of Windsor, Ontario was charged with:

·        Drive commercial motor vehicle not equipped with working speed-limiting system

·        Speeding 1 – 49Km/h over posted limit

·        Fail to maintain daily log

·        Drive commercial motor vehicle without required inspection

·        Improperly drive motor vehicle with a minor defect in it or in drawn vehicle

Additionally, the commercial vehicle operator, was charged with:

·        Permit operation of commercial motor vehicle not equipped with working speed-limiting system

·        Fail to monitor driver’s compliance

·        Fail to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed

·        Fail to supply driver with a daily inspection schedule

On January 26, 2023, at approximately 8:10 a.m., officers with the Elgin County OPP responded to a two-vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) on Highbury Avenue, Municipality of Central Elgin.

The occupants of the involved vehicles were uninjured.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old of St. Thomas, Ontario was charged with:

·        Unsafe move – lane or shoulder

On January 26, 2023, at approximately 6:47 p.m., emergency services responded to a two-vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) on Highbury Avenue, Municipality of Central Elgin.

The occupants of the involved vehicles sustained non-life-threatening injures.

The road was closed temporarily to allow for investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old of St. Thomas, Ontario was charged with:

On January 27, 2023, at approximately 9:07 a.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on the Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after it was found speeding.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 40-year-old of Windsor, Ontario was charged with:

·        Speeding 1 – 49Km/h over posted limit

·        Driving while under suspension

On January 27, 2023, at approximately 10:49 a.m., an officer with the Elgin County OPP (Chatham Detachment) stopped a passenger vehicle travelling on Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after the driver was observed not wearing a seat belt.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 25-year-old of Chatham, Ontario was charged with:

·        Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt

·        Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

Numerous Charges Following 3 Vehicle Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – As a result of a serious, three-vehicle collision that occurred on January 17, 2023, in Mapleton, a commercial motor vehicle driver and a business face charges.

On January 17, 2023, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 7 and Wellington Road 12 in Mapleton. A tractor trailer carrying a load of logs, a Sport Utility Vehicle (S.U.V.) with a single occupant and a mini van with seven occupants had collided. The lone occupant of the S.U.V., a 69-year-old resident of Clifford, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported. A home adjacent the collision was impacted when debris from the collision damaged two vehicles, a large propane tank, lawns, and hydro services to the residence. 

As a result, Isaak BARTSCH NEUFELD, 23-years-old of Aylmer, has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and HTA O. Reg 555/06

·      Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm

·      Fail To Maintain Daily Log

·      Drive After 14 Hours on Duty in A Day

·      Fail To Take 10 Hours Off in A Day

·      Exceed 13 Hours Driving Time Without 8 Hours Off

·      Drive After 14 Hours on Duty Without 8 Hours Off

·      Drive After 16 Hours Since Last Break Without 8 Hours Off

·      Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with No ELD

·      Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with A Major Defect in It or In Drawn Vehicle

·      Improperly Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with A Minor Defect in It or In Drawn Vehicle

·      Operate Commercial Motor Vehicle with Load Not Secured as Prescribed

·      Fail To Accurately Complete Daily Inspection Report

Further an Aylmer business has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and HTA O. Reg 555/06

·      Fail to require driver to keep record of duty status

·      Fail to equip commercial motor vehicle with ELD as required

·      Request, require or allow driver not to comply with section 18

·      Request, require, or allow non-compliance

·      Fail to ensure performance standards are met

·      Permit person to drive commercial motor vehicle not in accordance with the regulations

·      Operate commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

·      Driver of commercial motor vehicle – fail to carry proof of insurance

Jeremy WELSH Arrested Again – Theft, Break & Enter, Etc.

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges against a North Perth resident after he was found in possession of stolen property.

On December 16, 2022, just before 11:00 p.m., Perth OPP officers responded to an Ellen Street address in the Municipality of North Perth for a suspicious person. It was reported that a male was removing multiple items from a wagon.

During the investigation, officers were made aware that the male was also connected to a break and enter that took place at a James Street address just prior to this incident. Some of the items that were recovered belonged to the owners of the Break and Enter.

As a result, Jeremy WELSH, 24, a resident of North Perth was arrested and charged with:

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

–      Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence

–      Theft Under $5000

–      Failure to comply with Probation Order

The accused was held pending a bail hearing.

Joseph POTTER – Theft, Stolen Property

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Perth resident with possession of stolen property.

On December 16, 2022, just after 3:30 a.m., Perth OPP officers stopped a bicycle on Barber Avenue North in the Municipality of North Perth.

The male was observed to be carrying a large box with LED lights, that were confirmed stolen from a business on Wallace Avenue North in Listowel.

As a result of the investigation, Joseph POTTER, 34, a resident of North Perth was charged with:

–      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000- in Canada

–      Theft Under $5000

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

School Bus Collision Closes Road

(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – On December 20, 2022, at 7:14 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and the Lucan Biddulph Fire department were dispatched to Elginfield Road, Lucan Biddulph, for the report of a collision involving a school bus and 2 passenger vehicles.

As a result of the collision, an occupant in each of the passenger vehicles was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At the time of the collision, two students were on board the school bus. The students were assessed at scene by paramedics. One student was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Elginfield Road has been closed between Adelaide Street North and highway 23 for the investigation and is expected to remain closed for the next hour. 

The investigation is continuing.

Adam JUDGES – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – A driver has been charged with impaired related offences after attempting to avoid a ride program.

On December 17, 2022, at approximately 9:32 p.m., The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Elm Street in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Officers observed a motor vehicle approach the RIDE program, before stopping in the live lane of traffic, and pulling into a nearby driveway. Officers made contact with the lone driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was placed under arrest.

As a result, the Grey Bruce OPP have charged Adam JUDGES, 38 years-of-age from the Town of South Bruce Peninsula with the following offences:

·        Operation while impaired

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Novice driver B.A.C above zero

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound at a later date.
