FRANCKE & BIJELIC Arrested For Drunk Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals were charged as a result of separate impaired driving occurrences.

On Friday, September 8, 2023, at approximately 10:24 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at a Forestry Farm Road, Norfolk County address when a vehicle was stopped, and the driver assessed for sobriety.

As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offence is 44-year-old Ryan FRANCKE of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

On Sunday, September 10, 2023, at approximately 8:12 p.m., a member of the OPP Norfolk County Detachment stopped and investigated a vehicle at a Norfolk Street North, Norfolk County address.

As a result, the driver was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offence is 37-year-old Goran BIJELIC of Kitchener, Ontario:

  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Stolen Trailer Recovered – 5 Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Five individuals were charged following a traffic stop on McDowell Road East.

On Monday, July 24, 2023, at approximately 3:05 p.m., a member of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment stopped and investigated a vehicle and a trailer at a McDowell Road East, Norfolk County address following a suspended driver notification from the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system.

It was determined that the trailer was previously reported stolen to the OPP.

As a result, the driver and four passengers were taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offences is 51-year-old James SMITH of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada,
  • Driving while under suspension.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Charged with the following offence is 49-year-old Bobbi-Jo KING of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Charged with the following offence is 22-year-old Cameron GRIEVES of Brant County:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Charged with the following offence is 38-year-old Jason COURTEMANCHE of Norfolk County:

Jeremy SCHOTT – Break & Enter, Weapon & Disguise

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – One individual is facing several charges following a break-and-enter investigation.

On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at approximately 6:02 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment and the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to a break-and-enter in progress at a Queen Street, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that a concerned member of the public dialled 9-1-1 upon observing an unknown individual standing near the back door of an unoccupied residence.

Shortly after arriving on scene, officers located the individual inside the residence and took them into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offences is 44-year-old Jeremy SCHOTT of Norfolk County:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence,
  • Disguise with intent,
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • Carrying concealed weapon.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Another ATV Stolen

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Police are investigating after receiving information that an ATV was stolen from a residence.

On Monday, June 19, 2023, at approximately 7:33 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County investigated a theft of an ATV from a Concession 11 Townsend, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that sometime between 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2023, and 6:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, unknown individuals attended the address and removed an ATV from the property.

The ATV was described as a green 2017 Polaris Sportsman 570. A log splitter was affixed to the ATV at the time. A photograph of a similar ATV is attached for reference.

Members of the Norfolk County OPP are continuing to investigate and are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information, they are being asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.

OPP Remind All Students “Beach Day” First Friday Of June

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment want to acknowledge that the first Friday of June has been declared by area students as “beach day.” 

Although not supported by authorities, students leave school with and without parental permission to attend the beaches of Long Point, Turkey Point and Port Dover. 

The OPP wish to remind all students participating in “BEACH DAY” that the Norfolk OPP will be completing enhanced patrols in and around the beach areas throughout Norfolk County.

Officers will be patrolling the beaches for the day and will be focusing their attention on those who fail to make safety a priority.

There will be enforcement of all Highway Traffic Act, Liquor, Trespassing and Criminal Code violations. Officers will be looking for underage drinking, drinking, and driving, trespassing, property damage and other actions that put other people or property at risk.

15 Year Old Struck In Hit And Run – Suspect At Large

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Friday, June 10, 2022, at approximately 3:24 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a collision involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle at an Oak Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that a 15-year-old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was walking across the street while using the cross walk when she was struck by a black coloured four-door sedan The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and left the area.  No injuries were reported.

Police are continuing to investigate and will be reviewing security surveillance footage to identify the driver. Anyone with information is being asked to contact the OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.

Drug Bust – BRADSHAW & MCKAY

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – In October 2021, the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by OPP Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) began a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) investigation.

On December 2, 2021, with the assistance of other West Region CSCU members and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), two individuals were arrested.

Three CDSA search warrants were executed at residential addresses in the City of London, Middlesex County and Tillsonburg.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, MDMA, Canadian currency and a replica handgun were seized.

The value of the items seized was just under $9000.

As a result, 33-year-old Matthew BRADSHAW of London was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 5
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order x 7

33-year-old Tasha MCKAY of London was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of Schedule I Substance x 3
  • Possession of Schedule III Substance

Both of the accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on a later date.

Cleveland DOOLITTLE Charged After Attempting To Evade RIDE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Monday, December 13, 2021, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment stopped a vehicle at an Old Highway 24, Townsend, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that police were conducting a R.I.D.E program (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) in the area of Norfolk Street North and Davis Street when officers noticed a vehicle that avoided the R.I.D.E program.

The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated. As a result, police charged 20-year-old Cleveland DOOLITTLE of Six Nations of The Grand River First Nation with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 80 plus,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor,
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence, and
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

31 Year Old Facing Impaired & Speeding Charges

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Sunday, December 12, 2021, at approximately 12:23 a.m., an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment stopped and investigated a vehicle at a Norfolk Street North, Simcoe, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that an officer was travelling on Highway 24 when a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed attracted the officer’s attention. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and investigated after travelling over 150 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone.

As a result, police charged 31-year-old Lucas Martin KOHL of Norfolk County, Ontario with the following offences:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus,

·      Race a motor vehicle – stunt, and

·      Speeding by 50+ km/h over posted limit.

OPP are reminding all motorists that the minimum fine if convicted is $2,000 and an automatic drivers licence suspension for thirty (30) days and fourteen (14) day vehicle impoundment.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Simcoe at a later date.

25 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Friday, December 10, 2021, at approximately 11:17 p.m., an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle at a Norfolk County, Middleton, Norfolk County address.

As a result, officers charged 25-year-old Kaitlin Pamela BOYCE of Oxford County, Ontario with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Irta MALIK – Drunk Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at approximately 8:46 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment, Norfolk County Paramedic Services and Norfolk County Fire Department responded to motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles at an Erie Boulevard, Long Point, Norfolk County address.

As a result of investigation, police charged 25-year-old Irta MALIK of Mississauga, Ontario with operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

19 Year Old Repeat Offender Arrested Again

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Saturday, July 10, 2021, at approximately 8:59 a.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment received a report of a stolen vehicle at a Blueline Road, Woodhouse, Norfolk County address.

Officers attended the area and subsequently located the vehicle which failed to stop for officers. A spike belt was utilized in order to safely stop the vehicle when the driver fled from the area on Haldimand Road 20 located in Haldimand County. OPP Canine Services and Emergency Response Team members attended and subsequently located the driver and took them into custody without incident.

As a result, police charged 19-year-old Andrew John VELDHUIS of Mount Hope, Ontario with the following offences;

  • Dangerous operation (two counts),
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Flight from peace officer,
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000,
  • Mischief – destroys or damages property,
  • Fail to comply with probation order (two counts),
  • Driving while under suspension.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Simcoe at a later date.

Ever PETRELLA – Impaired Driving

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Friday, July 9, 2021, at approximately 5:31 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment received a traffic complaint from a member of the motoring public at a Brantford Road, Windham, Norfolk County address.

Officers arrived on scene and subsequently located the vehicle. As a result of investigation, police took the driver of the vehicle into custody without incident.

Charged with the following offences is 20-year-old Ever PETRELLA of Norfolk County, Ontario;

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus,

·      Consuming liquor in other than licenced premises, residence or private place,

·      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor, and

·      Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero.

Repeat Offender Facing Numerous Charges – Jessy Kevin GENEAU-OUELLETTE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Sunday, June 27, 2021, at approximately 7:13 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment received several traffic complaints about a pickup truck from members of the motoring travelling along Highway 3 in Norfolk County.

Officers attended the area and located the vehicle and subsequently deployed a spike belt in an effort to stop the truck. Officers were able to finally stop the vehicle at a Norfolk Street North address after the driver collided with two police vehicles. The driver of the pickup truck did not suffer any injuries and was taken into custody without incident. Two police officers involved in the collision were taken to a local area hospital for precautionary measures.

As a result, police charged 24-year-old Jessy Kevin GENEAU-OUELLETTE of Windsor, Ontario with the following offences;

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code,
  • Dangerous operation,
  • Flight from peace officer,
  • Failure of refusal to comply with a demand,
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Possession for the purpose trafficking fentanyl,
  • Possession property obtained by crime over $5,000,
  • Theft under $5,000,
  • Mischief under $5,000,
  • Driving while under suspension, and
  • Fail to comply with release order.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Hate Crime In Norfolk -Pride Flag Pole Cut Down

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Sunday, June 27, 2021, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated acts of mischief after a flag pole with a Pride flag was cut down at a property located in Norfolk County.

It was determined that at approximately 2:35 a.m., an unknown individual attended the address and was captured on video surveillance footage cutting down a flag pole located on the property.

The suspect is described as a white male, with a slender build and dark hair. He was wearing glasses along with a camouflaged type t-shirt with an off colour pocket with light coloured shorts. He was also wearing a neck gator that covered the bottom part of his face.

At approximately 2:58 a.m., two unknown males attended Delhi Secondary High School located on James Street and cut down a large flag pole with a Pride flag. Investigators believe that the same suspects are responsible for both incidents after being captured on video surveillance at each location.

Both males then ran down the south side of the high school on Connaught Avenue, and entered a vehicle that was parked by the football field. The vehicle was last seen heading north bound on Churchill Avenue.
