(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a disturbance in Simcoe.

On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at approximately 4:40 p.m., members of the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance on Lot Street in Simcoe.

The investigation revealed that two individuals were involved in an interaction on the property, during which one physically assaulted the other. Minor injuries were reported.

As a result, 38-year-old Christopher MATZIG, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with the following alleged offence:

Assault.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

David BERRY Arrested For Break & Enter

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Goderich area resident with Breaking and Entering and Trespassing at Night following an investigation on February 19^th, 2024.

Just before 9:00 p.m. on February 19th, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to an address for a report of a break and enter to a residence located on Orchard Line in the Municipality of Central Huron. Officers arrived shortly after and located the suspect inside the garage area of the home, at which time they were arrested.

The accused was then transported to the Huron OPP detachment for processing.

David BERRY, 57 years of age from no fixed address in the Goderich area has been charged with:

– Break, Enter a Dwelling House with Intent,

– Trespassing at Night.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on April 8^th, 2024.
