Sleeping Victim Robbed And Beaten With Chain – Suspects At Large

On December 29, at 1:30am, the Sarnia Police Service responded to a report of an injured male party (alone) at a Christina Street North business, near Maxwell Street.

Police arrived to find a male suffering from obvious head wounds (multiple lacerations).  Lambton EMS attended and he was transported to Bluewater Health by paramedics.

Officers reviewed the available security footage from the business.  That video depicted the male victim sleeping hunched over at an outdoor table.  Several individuals then appear on bikes, with one stealing a red bag of belongings from the sleeping victim.  A second individual then assaults the sleeping male with a weapon that appears to be a chain with makeshift handle.  The victim was struck over the head approximately 12 times causing the observed injuries.  The two main suspects then fled the area on bikes leaving the injured victim to be discovered later by an employee leaving the area.  A portion of the weapon was recovered.

Suspect #1 was seen wearing a grey jacket, black pants, black shoes and a grey backpack.

Suspect #2  was wearing black pants, a black jacket with Reebok-like lettering.  He was wearing black Nike Jordan shoes with white symbols and white soles.
