Glenn WHITE – Impaired Operation

(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving related charges.

On June 4, 2025, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Huronia West OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Fairgrounds Road North in Clearview Township.

Officers observed a vehicle that had stopped for the R.I.D.E. spot check and after speaking with the driver, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to an arrest. As a result of the investigation, Glenn WHITE, 51-year-old of Creemore, was arrested and has been charged with the following:

·      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs

·      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to Surrender Insurance Card (HTA)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Collingwood on August 5, 2025, to answer to the charges.

Diane BEBONING Was Arrested

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – One person is facing impaired-related charges after a traffic stop.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrol on Highway 551 in M’Chigeeng First Nation. Police observed a vehicle that was travelling on Highway 551 turn onto Mnaawnkwad Road, and a traffic stop was initiated. Police conducted Mandatory Alcohol Screening (MAS) on the driver, and as a result, the driver was arrested for impaired operation.

The driver, Diane BEBONING, 43-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Refusal to comply with demand
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available – two counts
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on June 24, 2025.

MCGRATH Facing Numerous Charges

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On May 28, 2025, at approximately 7:56 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a vehicle along Sideroad 20, Municipality of South Bruce.

Police attended the area and located the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer detected signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported for further testing.

Andrew MCGRATH, 28-years-old, resident of South Bruce, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence, HTA 32(1)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero, HTA 44.1(3)
  • Drive motor vehicle – no plates, HTA 7(1)(b)(i)
  • Operate unsafe vehicle, HTA 84(1)
  • G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver, HTA O.Reg 340/94 5(1)
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, LLCA 42(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear on July 2, 2025, at the Walkerton Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Richard Geelen – Impaired Operation

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin Detachment, has charged an individual following a traffic complaint.

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 7:50 a.m., a member of the Elgin OPP investigated a traffic complaint reported by a motorist. The suspect vehicle was located on Wellington Road in the Municipality of Central Elgin.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined the driver was impaired.

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to Elgin County Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Richard Geelen, a 61-year-old from London was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) (2 Counts)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas at a later date.

Prescription Medicine Results In Impaired Charge

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 24, 2025 at 9:09 a.m., officers of the Huntsville O.P.P. were conducting school zone patrols on Muskoka Rd 3 North when they observed a vehicle driving erratically. 

Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the female driver. The interaction quickly evolved into a drug investigation and a passenger was arrested. During the interaction with the driver, it became apparent she was under the influence and was arrested for impaired driving. The driver advised she had only consumed her own prescription medication recently. The driver was taken to a Drug Recognition Officer for drug testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jennifer Barager, 41 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29 , 2025.

The vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and the accused was also a 90 Administrative Driver’s License Suspension.

Also charged in this incident is Sara Dexter, 29 yrs old of Huntsville. She has been charged with;

·      Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      CC 91(2) Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 29 , 2025.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING.

Prescription medication is a drug and can impair your ability to drive

This event could have easily been avoided had the driver planned ahead before consuming alcohol or drugs. Don’t include alcohol or drugs in any plans to drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another option that takes driving out of the picture altogether.

Stuck Snowplow Results In Impaired Charge

(COCHRANE, ON) – A report of a snowplow stuck in a ditch east of Cochrane led to the arrest of a driver for impaired operation.

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a snowplow stuck in the westbound ditch, facing eastbound on Highway 652 in Kennedy Township, approximately 10 km east of Cochrane.

Officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The individual was arrested and taken to the Timmins Police Service for further testing.

As a result, Bradley MINOGUE, 50-years-of-age from Cochrane has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 15, 2025, in Cochrane. Additionally, they received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Kyle VANDERVOORT – Meth, Etc.

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On October 15, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call about a vehicle stopped in the live lane of Bruce Road 10, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

As a result of the interaction, police arrested the driver for impaired driving.

Kyle VANDERVOORT, 27-years-old, from the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie was charged with:

  • Impaired Operation – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance, Methamphetamine, CDSA 4(1)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on November 20, 2024.

Ryan ALEXANDER – Impaired

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On October 13, 2024, at approximately 3:09 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Albert Street, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and checked by police. 

As a result of the investigation, Ryan ALEXANDER, 31-years-old from Brockton, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on November 13, 2024.

Ethan James Harrison – Impaired Operation

(PICTON, ON) – A collision on Christian Road has led to impaired driving charges.

On August 25, 2024, at approximately 2:11 a.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single vehicle collision on Christian Road in Prince Edward County. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Ethan James Harrison, age 25 of Alberta was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The driver was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 2, 2024. They also had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for a period of seven days.

Oleg KACHMAR Was Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Windsor resident with several criminal offences following a traffic stop in the Municipality of South Huron on August 11, 2024. 

Just before 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, Huron County OPP were patrolling on Bluewater Highway in South Huron when they observed a motor vehicle being driven erratically on Bluewater Highway. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver. The officer discovered the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and subsequently arrested them for impaired operation. The accused was transported to the Lambton OPP detachment in Grand Bend at which time the accused assaulted a police officer during processing. The accused further refused to provide the required breath samples and was additionally charged for refusal.

Oleg KACHMAR, 37 years-of-age from Windsor has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Assault Peace Officer,

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA). 

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 16 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
