73 Year Old Facing Impaired Charge

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation.

On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at approximately 11:50 p.m., police responded to a two-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Central Elgin. No one was injured.

As a result of the investigation, Gary SUTHERLAND, a 73-year-old from St. Thomas was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs, and
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Brett HARTLIEB – Impaired Operation

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On September 3, 2025, at 12:56 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while on general patrol on Glendon Drive in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre, observed a suspicious vehicle.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time the driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Brett HARTLIEB, a 40-year-old of Southwest Middlesex, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – Alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous operation

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 7, 2025.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Kyle BLOXSIDGE Was Arrested

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing impaired by drug charge after traffic complaint in Thames Centre.

On August 30, 2025, at 7:05 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to the report of a possible impaired driver at a business located at 3305 Dorchester Road in the Municipality of Thames Centre.

The vehicle fled the area prior to police arrival.

As police patrolled the area, the vehicle was located stationary on the shoulder of the westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Highbury Avenue, at which time a traffic stop was initiated.  

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Kyle BLOXSIDGE, a 39-year-old of Woodstock, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on September 29, 2025.

Alicia BRYAN – Impaired Operation

 (NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford Detachment arrested a driver, for impaired driving, as the result of a R.I.D.E. check in Norwich Township.

On August 31, 2025, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Oxford OPP set up a Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Highway 59 in Norwich Township.

As a result, Alicia BRYAN a 37-year-old resident of Norfolk County, has been charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Operation While Impaired
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 plus

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on October 7, 2025.

R.I.D.E. programs are set up at various locations during the day and night. They continue to prove to be helpful in getting impaired drivers off Oxford County roadways.

Justin YEAS Arrested After Foot Chase

(BONNECHERE VALLEY TWP., ON.) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired after an altercation with police.

On August 30, 2025, just after 10:00 p.m., OPP officers were dealing with a complaint on Bruce St. in the Township of Bonnechere Valley. During the interaction with police the party fled on foot. A short foot pursuit and altercation ensued. The party was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Justin YEAS, 30 years old, of Eganville was charged with impaired operation.

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. They were released to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 22, 2025.

21 Year Old Dirt-biker Arrested

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON)- A Sergeant from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducting a neighbourhood patrol for suspicious vehicles and persons nabbed a dirt bike roaring around the Copeland Creek neighbourhood at approximately 11:30 p.m. August 30, 2025.

The officer made the stop on Timberland Court after encountering the dirt bike being operated without any lights or licence plates on the roadway and upon speaking to the driver, entered into an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of this investigation, 21 year old Nicholas HANCOCK of Midland has been charged criminally with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) along with a number of Provincial Offences Act violations.

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on September 18, 2025, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Decon WATERSON – Impaired Driving

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Prince Edward County and Quinte West Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a vessel operator with impaired driving.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, around 4:30 p.m., officers were conducting marine patrols on West Lake in Prince Edward County. Officers stopped a vessel and spoke to the occupants. During the interaction, officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device on the driver. As a result, the male was transported to the detachment for further testing.

Decon WATERSON, age 42 from Prince Edward County, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Failure or refusal to comply with a demand
  • Operating boat underway with open container of liquor
  • Operating pleasure craft without transferring licence – new owner

The accused had their driver’s licence suspended for 90 days. They were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

Daniel MCCHLERY From Wingham Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On August 24, 2025, at approximately 4:17 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle parked in a live lane of traffic along Bruce Road 4, Municipality of South Bruce.

Officers attended the location and found the vehicle parked in the southbound lane with no lights on. After conversing with the driver, police detected signs of impairment. The driver was taken into custody and taken to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer for further testing.

Daniel MCCHLERY, 34-years-old, resident of Wingham, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on October 22, 2025, to answer to the charge.

20 Year Old Arrested Following Catfish Creek Incident

(BAYHAM, ON) – Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired operation on Catfish Creek.

On Saturday, August 23rd, 2025, at approximately 4:11 p.m., police responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Port Bruce.

As a result of the investigation, Alexander SRNICEK, 20-years-old from St. Thomas was charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

Gerald RENNIE Was Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint for a possible impaired driver in Centre Wellington Township.

On August 23, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP made patrols and located the vehicle on Wellington Road 21, where a traffic stop was conducted. 

As a result of the investigation, Gerald RENNIE, a 67-year-old from Elora, was charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

As a result, a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is set to appear on September 26, 2025, at the Guelph Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

Joshua BOYER Was Arrested

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – A driver was arrested and charged after vehicle stop on Highway 17, North Shore Township.

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a possible impaired driver complaint. Information was that of a black Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) swerving between lanes and very inconsistent speeds. The black SUV was located and stopped by police. Readily accessible cannabis was located in the vehicle and approximately 20 suspected Ecstasy tablets in the driver’s possession. They were arrested and later assessed by an OPP Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE) and subsequently charged.

Joshua BOYER, 38-years-old, of Mississauga First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – Drugs
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 2, 2025.

The OPP would like to remind the motoring public to drive sober; this includes drug consumption as well. Impairment by drugs is a crime under the Criminal Code and drivers are subject to the same penalties as those who are charged with driving while impaired by alcohol.  A charge of impairment by drugs involves all drugs, be it prescription, over-the-counter and those that are illegal.

Eric LOWE Arrested Following Collision

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired-related charges after police were called to a motor vehicle collision (MVC).

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 6 near Gravelle Road in the Curtin Township. Police attended the location and completed a Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) with the driver, and as a result the driver was arrested for impaired operation.

Eric LOWE, 46-years-old from Barrie, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on October 6, 2025.

Caleb GODFREY Was Arrested – Details Released

(GRAVENHURST, ON) – The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has taken another impaired driver off Muskoka roads.

On August 20, 2025, at 9:30 p.m. a Bracebridge OPP officer was conducting proactive patrols on Muskoka Road 169 near Shady Lane in Gravenhurst and noticed a vehicle travelling in an unsafe manner. The officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested and charged 27-year-old Caleb GODFREY of Oshawa, ON with Impaired Operation- Drug, Failure/Refusal to Comply with Demand, Possession of Schedule I Substance (opioid) X 6.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on October 14, 2025 to answer to his charges.

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after responding to a traffic complaint in the Town of Renfrew.

On Sunday, August 17, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint in a construction area, in the Town of Renfrew. The subject vehicle was located, and officers investigated the complaint.

As a result of the investigation, Jeffrey PARSONS age 33 of Renfrew was charged with:

·        Operation while impaired- alcohol

·        Failure or refusal to comply with demand

The accused was released and scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on September 17, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Brennan BOYD Facing Numerous Charges

(BECKWITH TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Stittsville resident with numerous offences following a serious collision in Beckwith Township.

Lanark County OPP responded to a serious collision on Highway 15 at Beckwith 9th line in Beckwith Township on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, just after 4:00 p.m. Just prior to the collision, OPP and Ottawa Police had received numerous traffic complaints involving one of the vehicles. Both drivers and two children were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. During the investigation, one driver was arrested and transported to hospital for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Brennan BOYD, 40-years-old, has been charged with:

·      Failure or refusal to comply with breath demand

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Dangerous operation

·      Criminal negligence causing bodily harm

·      Red light – fail to stop

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor in open baggage

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Monday, September 22, 2025.

 The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
