Body Discovered Under Dock

(FRONTENAC ISLANDS, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the discovery of a body at the ferry dock located on Hitchcock Street on Wolfe Island.

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., Leeds OPP received reports of a missing 70 year-old individual who was last seen at the ferry dock on June 27, 2025. While officers were enroute to the location, the OPP received additional reports that a body had been located under the dock.

The deceased was identified as the missing person. Their identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family. A postmortem examination will be conducted. Leeds OPP is continuing their investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, with the assistance of the OPP Forensics Identification Services.

Drowning At Elora Quarry

(ELORA, ON) – Officers from the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), along with local fire services and paramedics, responded to a report of a swimmer in distress.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Wellington County officers were dispatched to assist EMS at the Elora Quarry.

Emergency crews located one individual who was removed from the water and transported to a local hospital. Despite life-saving efforts, the 24-year-old male was later pronounced deceased.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The OPP thanks the public and emergency partners for their cooperation and assistance.

40 Year Old Dead, 10 Year Old Serious Injured

(MALLORYTOWN, ON) – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death that occurred at a campground.

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, shortly after 6:00 a.m., Leeds OPP received reports that a large tree had fallen on a vehicle and tent. Officers, accompanied by Leeds Grenville Paramedic Services and the Front of Yonge Fire Department, attended and found a male in his 40’s deceased in the tent. The male was from Ottawa, and was accompanied by his 10-year-old child, who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A postmortem examination will be conducted. Leeds OPP is continuing their investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Missing Person Found Deceased

(LEAMINGTON, ON)- On June 13, 2025, members of the Leamington OPP received a report that Vanessa, 32-years-of-age, is missing from the Municipality of Leamington.

On June 17, 2025, the missing person was located deceased in the 100 block of Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington. 

The investigation remains under investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner. 

Police are advising there is no threat to public safety. 

The OPP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance during this investigation.

21 Year Old From Owen Sound Deceased Following Collision

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – One person has died as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision in Georgian Bluffs.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at approximately 4:05 p.m., the Grey Burce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with fire and paramedic services responded to Grey Road 5 for a head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and utility truck.

The driver of vehicle, a 21-year-old from Owen Sound suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the utility truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Grey Road 5 was closed for several hours while OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team continued to investigate. The roadway has since been reopened.

Fatal Motorcycle Vs Tractor Collision In North Perth

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – One person has died following a motor vehicle collision in the Municipality of North Perth

On June 12, 2025, shortly after 7:00 p.m. the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Perth County Paramedic Services, and the North Perth Fire Department, responded to a motor vehicle collision on Perth Line 88 for a report of a motorcycle that collided with a farm tractor.

As a result of the collision, the 29-year-old motorcycle driver suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased. The driver of the farm tractor did not sustain any injuries.

Members of the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team are assisting Perth County OPP with the investigation.

Perth Line 88 was closed but has since been reopened.

This investigation remains ongoing. Fatal E-Scooter Collision

(Pickering, ON) – Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Highway Safety Division (HSD) – Whitby Detachment, are investigating a motor vehicle collision that resulted in one fatality.

On Wednesday June 4, 2025, at 4:41 p.m., the Whitby OPP were called to a collision on Highway 401 westbound onramp from southbound Liverpool Rd, in the City of Pickering. The collision involved a red SUV and a E-scooter that was crossing the onramp lane.

The E-Scooter rider a 21-year-old from Pickering, was transported to Toronto area Trauma Centre with serious injuries.

The drive of the red SUV remained on scene, and no other injuries are reported.

On June 9, 2025, the 21-year-old E-Scooter rider succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Liverpool Rd, southbound onramp to Highway 401 west, was closed for the investigation.

The OPP-HSD Traffic Support Unit is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

The Whitby OPP is continuing to investigate this collision and is requesting anyone who witnessed the collision, has dash camera footage, or has any information regarding the collision to contact the Whitby OPP at 905-668-3388.

Fatal Motorcycle Collision – One Charged

(SOUTH STORMONT TWP, ON) – The driver of a car, involved in a fatal collision with a motorcycle last fall, northwest of Winchester, is facing charges.

The crash, involving a car and motorcycle, happened on Friday, September 13, 2024, shortly after 6:00 a.m., on Bank Street/County Road 31 near Cloverdale Road. Both vehicles were northbound at the time.

The motorcycle rider, a 31-year-old man from Winchester, was transported to a local hospital and then transported by Air ORNGE to a regional trauma centre. The victim was pronounced deceased in hospital shortly before 6:00 p.m. that evening. The driver of the car was not physically injured.

As a result of the investigation, Michel DENAULT-CHARTRAND, age 35 of Brinston, has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.

The accused is currently standing trial on the charge.

Fatal Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – A two vehicle crash has claimed the life of one person and has sent two others to hospital with injuries.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 3:33 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment, Haldimand County Fire Department and Haldimand County EMS responded to a collision at Argyle Street South near Highway 6 in Caledonia.

It has been determined that a motor vehicle and sports utility vehicle collided on Argyle Street South, east of Highway 6. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased. A passenger in vehicle was transported to hospital to be treated for serious life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV was also transported to hospital to be treated for serious non-life-threatening injuries.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team is assisting with the investigation and is asking anyone who was travelling on Argyle Street South, East of Highway 6 and witnessed the collision – or has any relevant information – to contact the Haldimand County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Fatal Collision Involving Train

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision involving a pedestrian in Ingersoll.

At approximately 5:10 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025, members of the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Oxford County Paramedic Services, and the Oxford County Fire Department responded to a collision involving a train and a pedestrian on Mutual Street North in Ingersoll.

As a result, the pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Additional details about the individual are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Mutual Street North (between Carnegie Street and Wilson Street) and Thames Street South (between Carnegie Street and Oxford Lane) were closed for several hours but have since reopened.

2 Dead Following Canoe Incident

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a boating incident on Sunday afternoon that took the lives of two male adults.

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP along with fire and EMS were dispatched to a boat that had capsized on Sturgeon Lake at approximately 3:06 pm on June 08, 2025. The canoe was carrying three males, one was able to make his way to shore while two adult males were unable to remain afloat and succumbed to their injuries. Life jackets were not present in the boat.   

City of Kawartha Lakes OPP (including the Marine unit) along with City of Kawartha Lakes Fire, City of Kawartha Lakes EMS and OPP Aviation aided in the lifesaving and recovery measures.

The OPP is committed to boater education, marine patrol/law enforcement and saving lives on more than 110,000 square kilometres of Ontario waterways. With capsized vessels and falling overboard the top contributing factors in boating deaths every year, a significant number of lives stand to be saved if boaters, personal watercraft users and paddlers wore a lifejacket or personal floatation device

18 Year Old Deceased Following Collision

(South Bruce Peninsula, ON) – One person has died as a result of injuries sustained in a single vehicle crash in Bruce Peninsula.

At approximately 3:06 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025, officers responded to a report of a collision on Spring Creek Road.

One person was transported to hospital, where the individual succumbed to their injuries. The deceased has been identified as an 18-year-old individual from South Bruce Peninsula.

Another individual involved in the collision sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

The OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team is on scene to continue the investigation.

Spring Creek Road remains closed between Legion Road and Allenford Road. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Fatal Collision

(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON) – Middlesex County OPP investigating a fatal single vehicle collision.

On June 2, 2025, at 12:45 p.m., emergency services including members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Southwest Middlesex Fire, were dispatched to Pratt Siding Road in the Municipality of Southwest Middlesex for the report of a single vehicle collision.  

Early investigation revealed the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and caught fire. As a result, the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at scene.

Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team attended to assist with the investigation.

Pratt Siding Road remained closed for approximately five hours between Longwoods Road and McMurchy Line and has since opened.

2 Dead, Amanda MONTEITH-SERGERIE Arrested

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged one person in relation to the head-on collision, which resulted in the death of two people.

On January 23, 2025, shortly after 11:00 a.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP, Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17, West Nipissing.

A 69-year-old-person from Wawa was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other people were transported by Air ORNGE with serious life-threatening injuries to a local hospital, where a 74-year-old person from Sault Ste. Marie, later succumb to their injuries. Three other people were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

The highway was closed in both directions for just over eight hours during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Amanda MONTEITH-SERGERIE, 36 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation causing death – two counts
  • Dangerous Operation causing bodily harm – two counts
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Fail to notify change of address
  • Fail to Provide Necessaries of Life – Child or Spouse
  • Improper muffler – motor vehicle
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on June 18, 2025, in Sudbury.

Fatal Collision Involving Cyclist

The Ottawa Police Service is seeking witnesses to a fatal collision that occurred on Wednesday, May 21st at Bank Street and Daze Street.

Around 2:40 p.m., emergency services responded to a call of a vehicle collision involving a male cyclist.

The cyclist was transported to the hospital with injuries at that time.

On May 25, 2025, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage of this incident.
