Fatal Collision

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – Two individuals have died as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Egremont Drive.

On June 15, 2024, at 1:10 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service, and local fire, were dispatched to Egremont Drive, just west of School Road in Adelaide Metcalfe for the report of a serious collision involving a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and motorcycle.

Two occupants travelling on the motorcycle died as a result of the collision.

The driver of the SUV was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The deceased identities are being withheld at this time pending next-of-kin notification.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team attended the collision scene to assist with the investigation.

The roadway will remain closed between School Road and Seed Road for the next few hours for the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.

Fatal Collision

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – One person is deceased following a two-vehicle collision in Oxford County.

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision at the intersection of Road 96 and 37th Line in Zorra Township.

Members of Oxford OPP, Oxford County Fire Services and Oxford County Paramedic Services responded. One of the vehicles was a motorcycle and the other was a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).

The driver of the SUV was the sole occupant and was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 65-year-old from Dorchester, was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The Oxford OPP continues to investigate the collision, along with members of the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.

Sections of Road 96 and 37th Line were closed for several hours but have since reopened.

Fatal Collision

(Roslin, ON) – One person is deceased after a two-vehicle collision just outside Belleville.

Members of the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the crash on Highway 37, at the intersection with Boundary Road/Shannonville Road, shortly before 11:00 a.m. on June 12, 2024.

A pick-up truck had been westbound on Shannonville Road when it collided with an SUV which was heading south on Highway 37.

Following the collision, the pick-up entered a water-filled ditch and rolled over. Several civilians tried to remove the driver from the vehicle but were unable to do so. The driver, a 53-year-old man from Stone Mills Township, was later pronounced deceased at the scene. There was no one else in that vehicle.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a Kingston trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues, with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and other members of the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.

Fatal Collision – One Arrested

(Sydenham, ON) – The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid a charge in connection with a fatal collision on Bedford Road, just north of the village of Sydenham.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on January 5, 2024, a vehicle collided with a pedestrian who had been walking along the shoulder of the roadway. The pedestrian was fatally injured. The driver stayed at the scene and assisted officers with the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Jordan Ward, age 38 from South Frontenac Township, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving Causing Death.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on July 8, 2024.

Frontenac Detachment members were assisted in the investigation by an OPP Collision Reconstructionist, the Technical Collision Investigation Team, South Frontenac Fire Department, Frontenac County Paramedics and the Office of the Chief Coroner.

Cyclist Killed

(PORTLAND, ON) – TheLeeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the death of cyclist on the shoulder of a County Road.

On June 8, 2024, shortly after 10:00 a.m., members of the OPP were dispatched to County Road 42, near Settlement Road, after several concerned citizens came to the aid of the 71 year-old from Ottawa, who appeared to have fallen off their bicycle.

Leeds OPP have ruled out a collision. It was determined the person was projected over the front of their bicycle after a foreign object entered the front wheel and brought the bicycle to an abrupt stop.

The Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service have since taken charge of the investigation.

The roadway had closed during the investigation, but has since re-opened.

Fatal Collision

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Atwo vehicle collision on Shaw Road in Thames Centre left one driver deceased and sent another to hospital.

On June 6, 2024, at 1:33 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and local Fire, were dispatched to Shaw Road in Thames Centre, for the report of a serious collision involving two vehicles.

One driver was pronounced deceased at scene as a result of the collision.

A second driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) attended to assist with the investigation.

Shaw Road was closed between Dundas and Trafalgar Streets for several hours for the investigation.

Fatal Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) -A two-vehicle collision occurred this evening at approximately 7:10 PM at the intersection of Windham East Quarter Line Road and Windham Road 9, resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality.

The collision involved two vehicles. The current status of those involved is as follows:

  • Four individuals sustained injuries and were transported to Norfolk General Hospital, conscious and breathing.
  • One individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A passenger was ejected from one of the vehicles during the collision. Emergency response included the dispatch of two air ambulance units (Air Orange) to transport the injured parties. Norfolk County Fire and EMS also attended the scene, providing critical support and care, but have since cleared the area.

The Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team and the Reconstruction Team are on-site conducting investigations. A portion of the road will be closed to allow first responders to conduct a thorough investigation.

The road is currently shut down, and the scene is secure

Fatal Collision

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – One person is deceased following a single-vehicle collision in Haldimand County.

On June 5, 2024, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the Haldimand detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle in the creek that runs along North Shore Drive, Dunnville.

Members of Haldimand OPP, Haldimand County Fire Services and Paramedic Services responded. The vehicle and driver were located, and an individual was located unresponsive in the water.

A 69-year-old from Lowbanks was transported to hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.

The Haldimand OPP continues to investigate the collision, along with members of the Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.

North Shore Drive was closed for several hours but has since re-opened.

Fatal Collision

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) – One person is deceased following a single-vehicle crash in Huron-Kinloss Township.

On June 5, 2024, at 9:44 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle entering Lake Huron from Amberley Road.

Police, along with members of Huron-Kinloss Fire and Emergency Services and Bruce County Emergency Medical Services, removed the driver from the vehicle and attempted lifesaving measures. The driver, an 88-year-old individual from Mississauga, was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

 The South Bruce OPP continues to investigate the collision, along with members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team and the Coroner’s Office.

Amberley Road was closed at the scene for the protection of emergency responders. It has since re-opened to traffic.

Fatal Collision Near Rockwood

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On May 19, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Fourth Line, north of Highway 7. It was reported that a white pickup truck had left the roadway and that the single occupant was seriously injured.

OPP, Guelph/Eramosa Fire and Emergency Services Department and Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service attend the scene however the driver, a 32-year-old from Lakehurst, was pronounced deceased at scene.

Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team attended the scene and is assisting with the investigation. The office of the Chief Coroner was notified and attended the scene. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and anyone with information related to it is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.

Fatal School Bus Collision

(RUSSELL, ON) – The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision.  

On May 13, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a collision involving a school bus and a cyclist on St Joseph Street near Chene Street in Clarence-Rockland.

The cyclist, an 11-year-old child, was pronounced deceased. The bus driver was uninjured.

The section of St Joseph Street near the collision site was closed for approximately six hours.

The collision remains under investigation with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the OPP Technical Collision Investigation Team.

Fatal Collision In Seaforth

(SEAFORTH, ON) – A serious collision on Sparling Street Seaforth has resulted in the death of one person.

On May 8, 2024, at 10:27 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Huron East Fire Department, and Paramedic Services responded to a report of a serious collision involving a motor vehicle on Sparling Street, Seaforth.

A 74-year-old individual from Seaforth was transported to hospital and pronounced deceased.

The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team assisted with the investigation.

Sparling Street between John Street and Market Street has since reopened at 1:05pm.

Fatal Collision

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a fatal collision on Humber Station Road.

On May 7, 2024, just before 11:00 a.m., Caledon OPP and emergency crews responded to a collision involving a passenger vehicle that struck the rear of commercial motor vehicle on Humber Station Road, just north of King Street, in the Town of Caledon. The driver of the passenger vehicle, a 58-year-old of Mono, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre and was later pronounced as deceased.

Humber Station Road between Castlederg Sideroad and King Street was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or 1-888-310-1122.

Fatal Collision

(SHUNIAH, ON) – On May 5, 2024, just after 5:00 a.m., members of the Thunder bay OPP Detachment along with Emergency Medical Services and Fire responded to a serious motor vehicle collision on Lakeshore Drive, in Shuniah Municipality involving a single passenger vehicle which was on fire in the eastbound ditch.

Investigation revealed an eastbound vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in the eastbound ditch. A 34-year old female driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and later pronounced deceased at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. The deceased is from Thunder Bay, Ontario. NOK have been notified.

The OPP North West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team and OPP Collision Re-constructionists are assisting with the ongoing investigation.

One Dead – Drunk Driver Arrested

(NAIRN-HYMAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested and charged following a fatal collision on Highway 17.

On May 5, 2024, shortly after 2:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Manitoulin-Sudbury Paramedic Services and the Nairn-Hyman Fire Department responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Nairn-Hyman Township. Information revealed that an eastbound vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle.

A person, 73-years-old, from Wisconsin, USA, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other individuals were transported to a local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Sasha PAN, 32-years-old, from Warren has been charged with:

  • Dangerous operation causing death
  • Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
  • Operation while impaired causing death
  • Operation while impaired causing bodily harm

The accused was held in custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Sudbury Bail Court on May 6, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team.
