Jessica BOLSCHETSCHENKO Was Arrested

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – On Sunday June 16, 2024, at just after 3:00 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop for an HTA violation on Erie Street, Port Franks, Ontario.    

In speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the OPP officer suspected the driver of previously consuming alcoholic beverages. A roadside screening device was administered. The driver was consequently placed under arrest and transported to the Lambton OPP – Petrolia Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.

Jessica BOLSCHETSCHENKO, a 38-year-old from London ON has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),
  • Have Care and Control of Vehicle or Boat with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on July 15, 2024. The motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days and the driver has had their licence suspended for a period of 90 days.

Logan CASSISTA Was Arrested

(POINT EDWARD, ON) – On Monday June 17, 2024, at just after 2:00 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop for an HTA violation on Michigan Avenue, Point Edward, Ontario.

Logan CASSISTA, a 24-year-old from Sarnia ON has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on July 24, 2024. The motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days and the driver has had their licence suspended for a period of 90 days.

Kaleb BRUYERE Was Arrested

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – An alert motorist and a police officer at the right place at the right time came together to stop an impaired driver on Highway 11, just east of Fort Frances.

On June 8, 2024, at approximately 9:00 am, an officer with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Northwest Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team was flagged down by a motorist who reported a possible impaired driver.

The suspect vehicle was located and stopped shortly after the report. The T.I.M.E. Team member, who possessed advanced training in impaired driving investigations, detected evidence of alcohol consumption and demanded a standardized field sobriety test. The driver performed poorly on the test and was arrested for impaired driving. The driver was then transported to the Fort Frances Detachment where breath testing was completed.

Kaleb BRUYERE, 21-years-old from Fort Frances has been charged criminally with one count of impaired operation alcohol / drug, and one count impaired operation blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and seven-day vehicle impoundment were also issued.

The accused was released by police and is scheduled to appear in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on July 8, 2024, to answer to the charges.

Sylver ELIJAH Was Arrested

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Thursday June 13, 2024, at just after 6:00 a.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Lasalle Line, St. Clair Township.    

While on general patrol, an OPP officer observed the motor vehicle travelling on Lasalle Line and conducted a traffic stop. In speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the OPP officer suspected the driver of previously consuming alcoholic beverages. A roadside screening device was administered. The driver was consequently placed under arrest and transported to the Lambton OPP – Corunna Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings over twice the legal limit.

Sylver ELIJAH, a 19-year-old from Onieda Nation of Thames, First Nation has been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol.
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – No License

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on July 22, 2024. The motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days and the driver has had their license suspended for a period of 90 days.

Decon WATERSON Was Arrested

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – A Wednesday night RIDE program by members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted on one driver being arrested.

Officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 62 near the Bay Bridge shortly after 12:00 a.m. on June 13, 2024.

During the RIDE, officers conducted a test on one driver with the Approved Screening Device. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Decon WATERSON, age 41 of Belleville has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on July 3, 2024.

The accused’s licence is suspended for 90 days and vehicle was impounded for seven day.

Cory WOJDYLO Was Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation.

On June 11, 2024, just after 12:00 p.m., Caledon OPP received a report that a driver may be operating a motor vehicle while impaired. The vehicle was located. The investigation led officers to form grounds that the driver’s abilities were impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Cory WOJDYLO, 47, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on June 27, 2024, to answer to the charge.

Desiree STEFANICK – Hit & Run, Drunk Driving

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency response services responded to a single-vehicle roll over on Summer Drive road in Little Britain on June 11th, 2024, at approximately 7:30p.m.

The investigating officer located the white Acura in the ditch, the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene at this point and went to a nearby residence.

The driver was later located by officers. Upon speaking with the driver, the investigating officer entered into an impaired driving investigation. The drive of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Subsequently, Desiree STEFANICK, 26 years-old, from Innisfil, was arrested and charged with the following offences;

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Careless driving

·      Novice Driver-B.A.C above zero

·      Fail to remain.

The accused was released from custody with a future court date, was served a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Andrew CAHILL Was Arrested

(CAVAN-MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after receiving a tip from a concerned motorist.

On Saturday June 8, 2024, just prior to 8:30pm, Peterborough County OPP received a call advising that a vehicle that had just entered on to Highway 115 may be being operated by an impaired driver. A description of the vehicle was provided, and officers began to look for it. Shortly after, a second call was received from a concerned motorist describing the same vehicle. The caller described their driving as being unable to maintain their lane and their speeds being inconsistent. The caller remained on the line and behind the vehicle at a safe distance while officers made their way to the location.

Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Officers approached the vehicle and quickly observed signs of impairment from the driver. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Peterborough County OPP detachment for further tests.

Andrew CAHILL (age 48) of Ajax, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on July 9, 2024.

Robin MAJOR Was Arrested

(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Sunday May 25, 2024, at just after 12:00 a.m., a uniform member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lyndock Street, St. Clair Township, in relation to a suspicious motor vehicle investigation.   

While on general patrol, an OPP officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot of a local business. In speaking with the driver of the vehicle, the OPP officer suspected the driver of previously consuming alcoholic beverages. A roadside screening device was administered. The driver was consequently placed under arrest and transported to the Lambton OPP – Corunna Detachment for breath testing which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Robin MAJOR, a 44-year-old from Sarnia, ON has been charged with the following:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus),
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia on July 16, 2024. The motor vehicle has been impounded for a period of 7 days and the driver has had their license suspended for a period of 90 days.

Serguei PETROV Was Arrested

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid several charges against an individual from the Ottawa area after they were stopped while operating an E-Bike on Highway 417.

On June 10, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., an Ottawa OPP member observed the accused operating an E-Bike on Highway 417 in Ottawa’s east end. The driver was stopped by officers and it was determined that they were impaired by alcohol. 

Serguei PETROV, aged 41 of Ottawa, faces the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act Charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Motorcycle Driven by Electricity on Controlled-Access Highway
  • Driving While Under Suspension

Petrov also received a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days. 

Petrov is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice on July 5, 2024.

Charles MCKIE Was Arrested

(TINY TOWNSHIP,ON) – A Washago driver self reported to the OPP Communication Centre a single vehicle crash into a tree on Awenda Park Road, Tiny Township at approximately 3:09 p.m. June 8, 2024.

The investigating officer located a demolished Jeep alongside the 40 Km/hr stretch of roadway and upon speaking with the nearby driver, entered into a drinking and driving investigation.

As a result, Charles MCKIE 39 years was transported by Simcoe County Paramedic Services treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital and upon completion of the investigation was charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on June 20, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Kelsey ODBER Was Arrested

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- Multiple reports of a car in a ditch on Highway 108.

On June 7, 2024, shortly before 7:30 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint of a black SUV that was all over the road and tailgating on Highway 17 in the Township of the North Shore. 

The black SUV then travelled northbound on Highway 108. A short time later, OPP began receiving multiple reports of a black SUV that was in a ditch on Highway 108 south of Nordic Mine Road in the City of Elliot Lake.

Investigation determined the black SUV was northbound on Highway 108, hit the gravel shoulder and was pulled into the northbound ditch with its airbags deployed. 

The driver failed an Approved Screening Device (A.S.D) check at the roadside and was arrested and transported to Elliot Lake detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kelsey ODBER, 36 years-of-age from Sault Ste Marie was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on July 11, 2024.

The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days with the driver being issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension.

Andrew MARACLE Was Arrested

(DESERONTO, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving.

On June 8, 2024, just after 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a golf cart and heavy machinery being driven in the area of Main Street in Deseronto. Officers attended the area and observed an excavator being operated in a field near First Street, with a golf cart parked nearby.

Officers spoke with the driver who was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Andrew MARACLE, age 20, of Deseronto, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 25, 2024.

Richard BIRD – Drunk Driving

(HALKIRK TOWNSHIP, ON) – An erratic driver has been arrested and charged for impaired operation.

On June 8, 2024, at approximately 10:45 a.m., members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 11. Officers located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Rainy River District OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Richard BIRD, 45-years-old, of Mine Centre, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Liquor Licence Control Act, and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available

·        Driver Fail to Surrender Licence

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on July 8, 2024.

Eugenio QUINTERO QUIJANO Was Arrested

(EAR FALLS, ON) – A traffic complaint has resulted in one individual being arrested and charged with impaired operation.

On June 8, 2024, shortly after 11:00 a.m., members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint of a suspected impaired driver at a local business in Ear Falls.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Eugenio QUINTERO QUIJANO, 54-years-old, of Ear Falls has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·        Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·        Novice Driver – B.A.C. Above Zero

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on July 18, 2024.
