Austyn SAKER – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after failing roadside demand.

On August 27, 2024, at 2:19 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Glendon Drive in Middlesex Centre, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

It was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Austyn SAKER, a 27-year-old of Chippewas of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 24, 2024.

The Middlesex OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.

Joesph BERUBE Was Arrested

(NORTH BAY, ON) – One driver charged for Impaired Operation. 

On August 16, 2024 at approximately 5:00 p.m., the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program at Sunnyside Road, Bonfield.

While the program was underway, a black pick-up truck was stopped. The driver was subsequently arrested and brought to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

Joesph BERUBE 45 years-of-age of Bonfield was charged with – Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus. 

The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), vehicle impounded for seven days, and is scheduled to appear at the North Bay Ontario Court of Justice on September 24, 2024.

(CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On August 25, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m. a member of Wellington County OPP stopped the driver of a black pick up truck on Garafraxa Street East, Fergus. As a result of the investigation, William R. QUIN, 40-years-old of Fergus, was charged with:

– Operation While Impaired – Blood Concentration 80 plus

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, at a later date.

Dwayne BONNELL – Drunk Driving

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Chatham Detachment, has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a passenger vehicle pulling a trailer on the westbound Highway 401 near the 123 KM-marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

The vehicle was occupied by two individuals and no serious injuries were reported.

While speaking to the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication from the driver and administered an Approved Screen Device (ASD) test, registering a failure. The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chatham Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Dwayne BONNELL, a 61-year-old from Ridgetown was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on September 23, 2024.

As a result of the collision, for safety of emergency personnel and safe removal of the involved vehicles a partial lane closure of the westbound Highway 401 in the area of the collision occurred but has since been fully opened.

(WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) – On August 22, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m. Wellington County OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Sideroad 7 West, Mount Forest. As a result of the investigation, Matthew EPOCH, 25-years-old of Kenilworth, was charged with:

Jean Guy PILON – Drunk Driving

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lays 36th impaired charged in 2024.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the OPP responded to a traffic complaint involving an eastbound blue pick-up truck swerving all over the road, travelling at varying speeds and had struck some construction pilons near Beaton Road and Highway 17 in the Iron Bridge area.

A short time later, police located the suspect vehicle parked at a house on Pearson Drive in the Town of Blind River. Police observed a travel trailer on the property that appeared to be occupied and called out to the registered owner of the truck. Police established the person they were conversing with was in fact the driver from the traffic complaint. As the conversation continued, the officer determined alcohol had been consumed and a subsequent arrest was made. The driver was transported to Blind River detachment for further testing and the pick-up truck was later impounded for seven days.

As a result, Jean Guy PILON, 63 years-of-age from Blind River was charged with: 

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit
  • Fail to surrender insurance card

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 3, 2024.

Tyler ARMSTRONG – Drunk Driving

(JOHNSON TOWNSHIP, ON)- The East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) lays 35th impaired charged in 2024.

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the OPP responded to a traffic complaint of a possible impaired driver that was parked near Cora Drive and Highway 17 within Johnson Township.

A short time later, police located the suspect pick-up truck travelling on Cora Drive and initiated a traffic stop. While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and a subsequent arrest was made. 

The driver was transported to Thessalon detachment for further testing and the vehicle was later impounded for seven days.

As a result, Tyler ARMSTRONG, 31 years-of-age from Mississauga First Nation was charged with: 

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on October 3, 2024.

Kyle HARMAN – Drunk Driving

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – Driver arrested for Impaired driving after South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motorist who drove into a ditch on Concession 8 East of Arran Township.

On August 25, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint that an individual had gone into the ditch in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

The driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a qualified breath technician.

Kyle HARMAN, 33-years-old, from Allenford was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired- over 80

On August 25, 2024, at 3:27 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Veterans Memorial Parkway in the City of London, observed a suspicious vehicle at Hamilton Road.

A traffic stop was initiated at which time it was determined the driver had previously consumed alcohol. An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized. The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, Dylan O’BRIEN, a 31-year-old of Glencoe, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on October 9, 2024.

Michael KERSSIES – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – Driver arrested for Impaired driving after South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) receive call from a member of the public regarding a traffic complaint.

On August 24, 2024, at 3:22 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a concerned member of the public regarding the driving behavior of a motorist on Bruce Road 3 in the Municipality of South Bruce. The motorist had drove over the complainant’s front lawn and proceeded on Bruce Road 3. The vehicle was located by police and a traffic stop was conducted.

The driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a qualified breath technician.

Michael KERSSIES, 48-years-old, from Jerseyville, was charged with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Drive motor vehicle with open liquor

2 More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(MIDLAND,ON) – An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program and a driving complaint led officers from the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment. to conduct two separate impaired driving investigations recently.

On August 24, 2024, at approximately 4:00 p.m. staff at a Tay Township marina reported to the OPP Communication Centre an individual driving about the marina causing a disturbance and may be possibly impaired. The dispatched officer located the suspect on the property and entered into a drinking and driving investigation.

As a result, Owen KITSEMETRY 48 years of Barrie has been charged criminally with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on September 12, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Another investigation took place on Highway 12 near Wye Valley Road, Midland near 1:48 a.m. August 22, 2024, as officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program at that location. An officer stopped a vehicle and spoke to the driver at which time an impaired by drug investigation was commenced. A further investigation at Detachment was conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.

The investigation has resulted in the following criminal code driving charge for Robert BELANGER 65 years of Penetanguishene.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

and further with the following Provincial Offences of as follows:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 3, 2024, was served a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and the involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Keyes WILLIAMSON – Drunk Driving

(ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.

On August 24, 2024, just after 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint on Highway 7 eastbound in Addington Highlands. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Keyes WILLIAMSON, age 27, of Ameliasburg was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 10, 2024.

Isaac ARMSTRONG – Drunk Driving

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Grey-Highlands resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic complaint in the Township of Morris-Turnberry on August 16, 2024. 

Just before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024, Huron County OPP were requested by Huron County Paramedic Services to attend a location on Glennanon Road in Morris-Turnberry regarding an unresponsive driver at the side of the road. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was checked by paramedics then arrested for impaired operation at which time the driver resisted arrest. The accused was controlled by officers and safely secured in the police vehicle. The accused was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over three times the legal limit.

Isaac ARMSTRONG, 37 years of age from Grey-Highlands has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Resist Peace Officer.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 23, 2024.

Nicholas BOONE – Drunk Driving


(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – 
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Huron East resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic complaint on August 15, 2024, in the Municipality of Central Huron. 

Just before 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, Huron County OPP received a traffic complaint from a member of the public who was concerned that a driver may be driving impaired. Police located the suspect vehicle travelling southbound on Base Line in Central Huron and conducted a traffic stop. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on September 23, 2024.

Dominic MAAS – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Police identified an impaired driver while on patrol in Norwich Township.

On Sunday August 25, 2024, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol when they observed a suspected impaired driver on Coal Line in Norwich.

After speaking to the driver, police observed signs of impairment and made an arrest.

After conducting further testing at the detachment, Dominic MAAS, 21 years-of-age of Burgessville, was charged with the following charges:

·                Dangerous Operation

·                Operation While Impaired

·                Operation While Impaired -Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·                Drive While Under Suspension

·                Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Woodstock on October 8, 2024.
