Connor GOUTHRO – Drunk Driving

(TYENDINAGA TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver with impaired driving related offences.

On December 9, 2024, just before 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Belleville Road in Tyendinaga Township. Officers arrived on scene and located the driver of the vehicle. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

As a result, Connor GOUTHRO, 23-years-old, of South Frontenac Township was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.

Timur ABDULLAH – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves Highway 402 and enters ditch.

On December 7, 2024, at 9:40 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Highway 402 Westbound in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a vehicle that left the highway and entered the ditch.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Timur ABDULLAH, a 32-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on February 10, 2025.

Brittney BELAN – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver charged with Impaired after vehicle leaves road and enters ditch.

On December 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to Glendon Drive, East of Komoka Road in Middlesex Centre, for the report of a vehicle that left the roadway and entered the ditch.

The driver was arrested and transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment.

As a result, Brittney BELAN, a 37-year-old of Camlachie, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on January 8, 2025.

Christian VALIANT – Drunk Driving

(ESSA, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for driving while impaired in the Township of Essa.

On December 8, 2024, just before 4:00 a.m., a Nottawasaga OPP officer was conducting general patrols South Bound on County Road 27, when a passenger vehicle travelling North Bound suddenly crossed over the lane towards the Officers vehicle having to avoid a collision.

The Officer continued to follow the vehicle for a moment observing speeds to be 60 km/hr. in a posted 80km/hr. zone. the vehicle continued to cross over the center lane into live traffic. The officer conducted a traffic stop and as of a result of the investigation,

Christian VALIANT, 28 years-old, of Scarborough, was charge with:  

• Adult Operation while Impaired- alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration (80 plus)

In addition to the charges, the driver was issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. 

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Bradford on January 9, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) – On December 7, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Queen Street North, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and checked by police. 

As a result of the investigation, Brian GEMBUS, 51-years-old from Arran-Elderslie, has been charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on January 15, 2025.

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On December 6, 2024, at approximately 11:14 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Broadway Street, Municipality of Kincardine.

During the operation, a vehicle was stopped and checked by police. 

As a result of the investigation, Kory BROWN, 31-years-old from Kincardine, has been charged with:

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on January 15, 2025.

Gordon KALVERDA – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of a vehicle that slid onto someone’s front lawn with impaired operation.

On December 4, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a vehicle that slid onto someone’s front lawn. No injuries were sustained. During the investigation, officers formed grounds that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result, Gordon KALVERDA, 50, of Alton, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on December 19, 2024, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

David KOOLE – Drunk Driving

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with criminal driving offences following a traffic complaint on December 2nd, 2024, in the Municipality of South Huron. 

Just after 2:20 p.m. on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, Huron County OPP officers received a complaint about a vehicle being driven by a suspected impaired driver. Officers located the vehicle shortly after and conducted a traffic stop on Huron Street West in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

David KOOLE, 59 years of age from Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 6th, 2025.

Phillip HARTFORD Was Arrested Again

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On December 5, 2024, at approximately 11:10 p.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a two-vehicle collision involving passenger vehicles on Talbot Line near Belmont Road in the Municipality of Central Elgin.

No serious injuries were reported by any of the involved occupants.

As a result of the investigation, Phillip HARTFORD, a 46-year-old from St. Thomas was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
  • Driving while under suspension

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 45-Day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on January 14, 2025.

Paul GERELUS – Drunk Driving

(SELWYN TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Peterborough County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual with impaired driving after stopping at a R.I.D.E. program.

On December 5, 2024, just prior to 10:30pm, Peterborough County OPP Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Ward Street in Bridgenorth. A vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. program and an officer spoke with the driver. After a brief conversation with the driver, the officer determined they were under the influence of alcohol. The officer made a demand for the Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver complied with the demand and provided a sample of their breath resulting in a Fail at which point they were arrested.

Paul GERELUS (age 57) of Selwyn Township, ON., was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90-days, and their vehicle impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on January 7, 2025.

(Prince Edward County, ON) – Proactive patrol has resulted in a driver being charged with impaired operation.

On December 5, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initiated a traffic stop on Talbot Street in Prince Edward County. Further investigation led to an Approved Screening Device being utilized, and the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Christopher O’BRIEN, age 34 from Prince Edward County, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

· Fail to Signal

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on December 18, 2024. They also had their driver’s license suspended for a period of 90 days and vehicle impounded for 7 days.

(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – Suspicious vehicle results in impaired driving charge.

On November 30, 2024, at 9:51 p.m., members of the Oneida Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on Fairgrounds Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

The vehicle was located at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

As a result, Rain DOXTATOR, a 29-year-old of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Having care or control of a motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on January 20, 2025.

(RYERSON, ON) – The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple charges after a single vehicle collision in Ryerson Township. 

On December 4, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Almaguin Highlands OPP responded to a theft of a motor vehicle from Ryerson Township. The vehicle was located in the ditch on Highway 520 and a person located nearby identified themselves to police as the driver.  

Sean SNODDON, 31 years-of-age, of St. Catherines Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Assault
  • Take motor vehicle without consent
  • Driving while under suspension – two counts

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge on January 9, 2024.

Jennifer KRANCZOCH – Drunk Driving

(THAMES CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing charges as a result of OPP Festive RIDE Program.

On December 4, 2024, at 1:54 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were engaged in a Festive, Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program, on Hamilton Road in Thames Centre.

A vehicle entered the program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

Jennifer KRANCZOCH, a 32-year-old of London, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on January 28, 2025, to speak to the charges.

The festive RIDE Program is supported by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) in an effort to keep Ontario’s roads safe from impaired drivers during the holiday season. The strategy is to take alcohol and drug-impaired drivers off the roads. The Festive RIDE program runs through the month of December and ends January 2, 2025.

David DIAW – Drunk Driving

(HEARST, ON) – A single-vehicle collision with a light pole resulted in an impaired driving arrest in Hearst.

On November 30, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of a collision on Highway 11 near Quirion Street in the Town of Hearst.

Officers located the vehicle, which was facing south in the eastbound lane. A light pole had been struck and was laying across the eastbound lane. While speaking with the driver, officers observed signs of alcohol consumption. The driver was arrested and transported to the Hearst detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old David DIAW of Hearst has been charged with:

·        Operation while impaired – alcohol

·        Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·        Careless driving

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst on January 8, 2025. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) was issued, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
