Cole MCLEAN – Drunk Driving

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – One person was arrested and charged with impaired driving after police respond to a complaint of a driver sleeping behind the wheel at an intersection.

On December 31, 2024, at approximately 3:15 p.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), received a complaint from another motorist advising of a driver sleeping behind the wheel at an intersection, on Development Road in Harley Township. Shortly after, OPP located and stopped the vehicle on Highway 11 in Temiskaming Shores. The driver was arrested for impaired and transported to the Temiskaming Detachment for further testing.

Cole MCLEAN, 21 years-of-age, from New Liskeard, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired -blood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)

In addition, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on January 28, 2025.

Drunk Driver Arrested In North Huron – Details Released

(NORTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Waterloo resident with Impaired driving offences following a sobriety check at a Festive “Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere” (R.I.D.E.) checkpoint on December 28, 2024, in the Township of North Huron. 

Just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, Huron County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE check in Whitechurch on Amberley Road. A vehicle driver pulled up to the checkpoint to speak with police about an unrelated matter at which time officers determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Ishrad RAHAMAN, 56 years of age from Waterloo has been charged with:

–      Impaired Operation – Alcohol and Drugs

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on January 20, 2025.

Jeremy HOBOURN Was Arrested

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On December 29, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a report of a suspicious person in the Town of Parry Sound. Police located the person in a vehicle on Bowes Street. The vehicle was stopped, and officers spoke with the driver and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Jeremy HOBOURN, 25 years-of-age of Parry Sound was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on January 30, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Erik REYNOLDS – Drunk Driving

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On December 30, 2024, at approximately 10:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were dispatched to a report of a dispute between two people in the Town of Parry Sound. Police located one person in a vehicle on Gibson Street in the Town of Parry Sound. The vehicle was stopped, and officers spoke with the driver and initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Erik REYNOLDS, 25 years-of-age of Moose Deer Point First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on January 30, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Guy BOILEAU Was Arrested

(PARRY SOUND, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with impaired driving.

On December 30, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m. the West Parry Sound OPP were on patrol in the Town of Parry Sound and stopped a vehicle on Greenwood Crescent to check the sobriety of the driver.

As a result of the investigation, Guy BOILEAU, 64 years-of-age of Parry Sound was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on January 30, 2025. The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

23 Year Old Arrested In Minto

(MINTO, ON) – On January 1, 2025, at approximately 8:45 a.m. an officer from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment attended a call for service for a single motor vehicle in a ditch on Minto Road, in the Town of Minto.

As a result of the investigation, Liam M. PREVOST, 23 years-old of Drayton, was charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drugs contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph, on January 17, 2025.

Alberto DORAZIO – Drunk Driving

(SUDBURY, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with impaired driving offences, after another motorist reported a possible impaired driver.

On December 26, 2024, at approximately 3:10 p.m., members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a possible impaired driver, travelling south on Highway 69, from Sudbury.

The vehicle was located by police at which time the driver was arrested for impaired driving, then transported to the OPP detachment for further testing.

As a result of the investigation, Alberto DORAZIO, 50 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Dangerous operation

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 15, 2025, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Jesse WIWCHAR – Drunk Driving

(SAULT STE. MARIE, ON) – A New Year’s Eve traffic stop in Sault Ste. Marie has resulted in impaired driving charges for one individual. On December 31, 2024, at approximately 11:37 p.m., a Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police officer was conducting general patrol, when they observed a vehicle remain stopped at a green light on Great Northern Road.       

A traffic stop was conducted and investigation determined the vehicle driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. As a result, Jesse WIWCHAR, 33 years-of-age, of Sault Ste. Marie was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on February 3, 2025 in Sault Ste. Marie. The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Maheswaran RATNAM – Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver involved in a collision with impaired operation.

On December 29, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 10 at Charleston Sideroad. Minor injuries were sustained. During the interaction with one of the drivers, grounds were formed that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested.

As a result of the investigation, Maheswaran RATNAM, 47, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 16, 2025, to answer to the charges. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

28 Year Old Arrested For Drunk Driving

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – Lennox and Addington County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving and numerous other offences following a single vehicle collision on Highway 401.

On Wednesday, January 2, 2025, shortly after 10:00 a.m., L&A County OPP members attended the scene of the collision just east of Palace Road which resulted in minor injuries to the driver. Following an investigation, Tyler DALTON, a 28-year-old from Kingston was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – over 80 mgs of alcohol
  • Careless driving
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 21, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

James SZEMAN – Drunk Driving

(TINY TOWNSHIP, ON) –  A traffic stop for a cellphone infraction leading to an impaired driving investigation has resulted in a number of charges for a Blue Mountains resident.

An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) made the vehicle stop on Simcoe County Road 6, Tiny Township at approximately 11:05 a.m. December 31, 2024 and while speaking to the lone driver about the infraction observed signs to cause the officer to enter into an impaired driving investigation.

A further investigation at detachment has resulted in the following criminal charges for James SZEMAN, a 57 year old resident of the The Blue Mountains.

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

And further with Provincial Offences of

  • Drive – hand held communication device
  • Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
  • Drive commercial motor vehicle – no licence
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  at a future date, and was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 7 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Prosper NIJIMBERE – Imparied Driving

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an Ottawa resident with Impaired Driving after a single vehicle collision.

Shortly before 5:00 a.m. on December 31, OPP responded to reports of single vehicle collision on the Highway 417 off ramp at Riverside Drive. Officers noted that the driver had an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. An approved screening device was utilized, and the driver was transported to Ottawa Detachment for additional testing. The driver then registered nearly four times the legal limit.

Prosper NIJIMBERE, 52 years of age, faces the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Novice Driver – B.A.C above Zero

Nijimbere is scheduled to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice in January 2025.

SPALDING – Drunk Driving

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment were conducting general patrol duties and observed an individual driving a MSV (motorized snow vehicle) without a helmet who proceeded to collide with a snowbank at a high rate of speed on Casimir Avenue, in the City of Dryden. Fortunately, the individual suffered no injuries as a result of the collision.  

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol.

As a result, Mason SPALDING, 22-years-old, of Dryden was placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP for further testing. The accused faces the following charges under the Criminal Code and Motorized Snow Mobile Act:

·         Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·         Fail to wear a proper helmet

·         Careless driving

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden January 27, 2025.

Richard ARNOLD – Drunk Driving

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On December 24, 2024, at approximately 3:30 a.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment received reports of an impaired driver leaving a local business in the City of Dryden. Police patrolled the area and located the subject at a residence on Mary Avenue.

While speaking with the suspect, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication and conducted an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the subject was the driver of the motor vehicle and had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP for further testing.

Richard ARNOLD, 45-years-old, of Dryden, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

·         Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden January 27, 2025.

2 More Drunk Drivers Arrested

(DUFFERIN COUNTY) – The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two drivers with impaired operation related offences, within twenty-four hours of each other.

On December 23, 2024, just after 3:30 p.m., officers from Dufferin OPP were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Program on Hockley Road in the Town of Mono when a vehicle entered. Officers spoke with the driver which led to an impaired operation investigation.

Richard STRINGER, a 53-year-old from Shelburne has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drug

•      Drive motor vehicle with open container of liquor

•      Drive with seat belt assembly removed

•      Fail to surrender insurance card

•      Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle

Twenty-four hours later, on December 24, 2024, just before 3:30 p.m., Dufferin OPP responded to a call for service involving a vehicle in a ditch, partly blocking the roadway. Police arrived at a location on 2nd Line SW in the Township of Melancthon and were quickly led into an impaired operation investigation.

Michael CARROLL, a 54-year-old from Melancthon has been charged with:

•      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•      Operation while impaired- alcohol and drug

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville to answer to the charges. Their driver’s licence was suspended, and vehicles impounded.
