Michael STRATTON Facing Numerous Charges

(ESSA, ON) – The Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one driver for driving while impaired in Essa Township.

On February 20, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP responded to assist a member of the OPP Central Region TIME team (Traffic Incident Enforcement Management) who was on general patrols in Angus when the officer attempted to stop a vehicle who registered an ALPR (Automated Licence Plate Recognition system) hit for being a suspended driver, the driver failed to stop for the officer and entered into Base Borden.

Officers were able to locate the driver in the vehicle with the assistance of the Military Police and as a result the driver was also arrested for impaired driving consuming nearly four times the legal limit.

At 5:51 p.m., the driver: Michael STRATTON 43 years-old, of Tottenham, was arrested and charge with:  

• Dangerous operation

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Flight from peace officer

• Driving while under suspension – Two Counts

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor- Two Counts

The accused was charged recently with two previous counts of impaired operation offences and as a result was held for a bail hearing.

32 Year Old From Dundalk Arrested: Details Released

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Dundalk resident with two criminal, and two provincial charges stemming from a traffic stop.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP Traffic Unit were conducting a proactive traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed, and initiated a traffic stop ON-89 Highway within Wellington North Township.

As a result of the investigation, Joshua LAVIEILLE, a 32-year-old of Dundalk is charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Possess more than one licence
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 7, 2025.

Larry GIBBINS: Impaired Driving, Etc.

(ALBERTON TOWNSHIP ON,) Members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual following reports of a motor vehicle in the ditch.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 11:58 p.m. the Provincial Communications Centre received a phone call from a driver advising police he put his vehicle into the ditch along Kehl Road in Alberton Township.

At approximately 12:10 a.m. police located the vehicle in the ditch and located the driver.

While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer observed signs of intoxication and conducted an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Larry GIBBINS a 52-year-old male from Morson Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
  • Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
  • Driving while under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act
  • Having care or control of vehicle wtih cannabis in open baggage contrary to section 12(1) Cannabis Control Act 2017

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on the 31st of March, 2025 at 09:30 a.m.

Amanpreet GREWAL: Drunk Driving

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation following a driving complaint.

On February 19, 2025, just before 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint regarding a vehicle being operated in a concerning manner in the area of Dougall Avenue and Learmont Avenue. Officers located the vehicle and began their investigation. Grounds were formed that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and was subsequently arrested. 

As a result, Amanpreet GREWAL, 29, of Caledon, was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on March 6, 2025, to answer to the charge. The driver’s licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

Matthew MALONEY: Drunk Driving

(MALAHIDE, ON) – The Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has charged an individual following a collision investigation.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Elgin OPP responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Wilson Line, east of Belmont Road, Township of Malahide.

No serious injuries were reported.

As a result of the investigation the driver of the passenger vehicle, Matthew MALONEY, a 34-year-old from Central Elgin was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas at a later date.

Paul ELTON: Drunk Driving

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Woodstock resident with impaired driving.  

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Tatlock Road west of Carleton Place, in Mississippi Mills Township on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, just after 8:00 a.m. after receiving complaints of poor driving involving a Transport truck on Highway 7.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Carleton Place Detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Paul ELTON age 48, of Woodstock, ON, has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – Alcohol

The driver also was charged with offences under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Licence and Cannabis Act.

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 31, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

Janice THEOBALD: Drunk Driving

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver with impaired operation following a traffic stop.

On Wednesday. February 19, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Bancroft OPP officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence. The investigation determined that the driver had restrictions on their licence but did not have an ignition interlock system in the vehicle being driven. Officers also conducted a roadside test with an Approved Screening Device. The driver was then transported to the detachment for further testing.

As a result, Janice THEOBALD, a 38-year-old resident of Bancroft, has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Operation While Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80) plus
  • Operation While Prohibited
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on March 4, 2025.

(LAKESHORE, ON) – One person has been charged following a single motor vehicle collision in Lakeshore.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 7:27 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Comber Road in the Municipality of Lakeshore. 

Robert BARNES, 61-years-old of Blenheim, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Fail to surrender insurance Card

• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on March 3, 2025, to answer to the charges.

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – A driver was arrested at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint.

On February 14, 2025, at approximately 11:28 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Leamington Detachment conducted a traffic stop to check sobriety of the driver at a RIDE checkpoint on Erie Street South in the Municipality of Leamington. 

Dennis MALOTT, 40-years-old of Leamington, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Drive motor vehicle – No licence

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused was scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 27, 2025, to answer to the charges.

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 2:04 a.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a traffic complaint on Manning Road in the Town of Tecumseh. 

Ran MAHAT, 33-years-old of Lakeshore, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act offences:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Windsor on February 26, 2025, to speak to the charges.

3 More Impaired Drivers Arrested: Name Released

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to three separate incidents over the long weekend that have resulted in impaired driving related charges.

 On February 14, 2025, at approximately 3:15 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Curry Road in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, William WHITCROFT, a 33-years-old resident of Norfolk County has been charged with:

 ·      Operation While Impaired

·      Operation While Prohibited

·      Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

·      Flight From Peace Officer

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

 The accused was held for a bail hearing and has since been remanded into custody.  

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 8:10 a.m., members of Oxford OPP were dispatched to a report of a possible intoxicated driver on Thames Street in the Town of Ingersoll.

 As a result of the investigation, Kyle FRANKLIN, a 27-years-old resident of Ingersoll has been charged with:

 ·      Operation While Impaired

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance

 The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on April 1, 2025.

On February 15, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m. members of the Oxford OPP were called to a single vehicle collision on the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the Township of South-West Oxford.

 As a result of the investigation, Mohammed BEELUT a 36-years-old resident of Belle River has been charged with:

·      Operation While Impaired

·      Operation While Impaired- Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

·      Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

 The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on March 25, 2025.

Travis Seed: Drunk Driving

(TAY VALLEY TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Tay Valley Twp resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Clarchris Road in Tay Valley Township on Saturday, February 15, 2025, shortly after 6:00 p.m. after receiving a complaint of a possible impaired driver.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Travis Seed age 43, of Tay Valley Township has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 10, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

Jenneth Boudreau: Drunk Driving

(MISSISSIPPI MILLS TWP, ON) – – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Renfrew resident with impaired driving.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 7 west of Carleton Place, in Mississippi Mills Township on Friday, February 14, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m.

The officer, while conducting a traffic investigation, arrested the driver and transported the individual to the Carleton Place Detachment for testing.

As a result of the investigation, Jenneth Boudreau age 28, of Renfrew has been charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – Alcohol

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on April 14, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days (Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension), and vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
