MARSHALL Was Arrested

(HUDSON TOWNSHIP, ON) – A single motor vehicle in the ditch in Hudson Township leads to one person being charged with impaired.

On March 5, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 65 West in Hudson Township.

The OPP located the vehicle and the driver at the scene. As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving and transported to detachment for further testing.

Sterling MARSHALL, 27 years-of-age of New Liskeard, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury, on March 5, 2025.

Arrest In South Huron – Details Released

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Lambton Shores resident with criminal driving offences following a collision on March 4th, 2025, in the Municipality of South Huron. 

Just before 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025, Huron County OPP officers received a report of a collision involving a pickup truck on its side on Airport Line in South Huron. Police spoke to the driver and determined that the driver’s ability to operate the motor vehicle was impaired.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton where they provided breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Scott MacGregor, 63 years of age from Lambton Shores has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 31, 2025.

One From Central Huron Arrested

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) – On March 13, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along James Street West, Municipality of South Bruce.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Korbin KNIGHTS, 34-years-old, of Central Huron, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on May 7, 2025 to answer to the charge.

Peter DESILVA – Drunk Driving

(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident criminally, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.

On March 11, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP received a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Jones Baseline, just outside of the City of Guelph.

On arrival and as a result of the investigation, Peter DESILVA, a 49-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 25, 2025.

Ashiq SALAM Was Arrested

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing Impaired driving charge after traffic stop.

On March 10, 2025, at 1:39 a.m., a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while travelling on Fanshawe Park Road West through the City of London, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Middlesex OPP Detachment.

As a result, Ashiq SALAM, a 29-year-old of Sarnia, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Fail to use lower beam – oncoming

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 24, 2025.

Oleksandr KATERYNYCH – Drunk Driving

(OTTAWA, ON) – Members of the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid impaired driving related charges against an individual from Ottawa after an early morning collision.

Shortly before 7:00 a.m. on March 12, OPP responded to reports of a three-vehicle collision on Highway 417 West, near Lees Avenue. One of the drivers was suspected of having consumed alcohol. The individual, who was a rideshare driver, had a passenger on board at the time. An approved roadside screening device was utilized and the individual was transported to the detachment for additional testing. The driver registered nearly three times the legal limit.

Oleksandr KATERYNYCH, 40 years of age faces the following charges:

  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
  • Dangerous Operation

The passenger suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Katerynych received a 90-day driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. Katerynych is set to appear in an Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

MOE Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an impaired driving incident in Simcoe.

At approximately 9:24 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a 9-1-1 call regarding a suspected impaired driver on Sydenham Street in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

Officers located the vehicle on Culver Street in Simcoe and, after conducting a roadside sobriety assessment, arrested the driver without incident.

52-year-old Jennifer MOE from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus),
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available,
  • Fail to have insurance card.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

57 Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested – Name Released

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person after receiving a report of a single vehicle collision.

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Renfrew OPP received a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Mount St. Patrick Road in Admaston-Bromley Township. Police arrived on scene to find an abandoned vehicle, and an individual walking away from scene.

As a result of the investigation, Richard BROWN, age 57 of Calabogie was charged with:

·      Operation while impaired- alcohol

·      Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving while under suspension

·      Operate motor vehicle without insurance

·      Use of plate not authorized

·      Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit

·      Fail to apply for permit on becoming an owner

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on March 26, 2025. The individual’s driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

MACDONALD Was Arrested

(LONDON, ON) – Driver facing charges after traffic complaint on Highway 401 Eastbound.

On March 8, 2025, at 4:50 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 in Elgin County, for the report of a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was located and stopped near Highbury Avenue in the City of London.

As a result, Kate MACDONALD, a 20-year-old of Windsor, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Liquor Licence Control Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on April 10, 2025.

(BROCKTON, ON) – On March 5, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., a member of the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle along Catherine Street, Municipality of Brockton.

The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Roy KING, 25-years-old, of Brockton, was charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
  • Operation while prohibited, CC 320.18(1)(a)
  • Dangerous operation, CC 320.13(1)
  • Driving while under suspension, HTA 53(1) – two counts
  • Operate unsafe vehicle, HTA 84(1)
  • Use plate not authorized, HTA 12(1)(d)
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, CAIA 2(1)(a)

The accused was held in custody by police for a bail hearing and subsequently released. They are to reappear at the Walkerton Court of Justice on April 2, 2025.

Bounliam SAENSOMBAT – Drunk Driving

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charge a Guelph resident with two criminal charges stemming from a traffic complaint.

On March 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement when a traffic complaint came in, making officers aware of a motor vehicle displaying signs of impaired driving. Officers quickly attended to area, located the motor vehicle in question and performed a traffic stop on Highway 6, just over Highway 401.

As a result of the investigation, Bounliam SAENSOMBAT, a 40-year-old of Guelph is charged under the Criminal Code with:

  • Dangerous Operation
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph on March 28, 2025.

Jamie Henderson – Drunk Driving

(BRANT, ON) – Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver following a single-vehicle collision on Pinehurst Drive near Glen Morris Road West on March 10, 2025.

At approximately 11:08 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle that had rolled into a ditch. Upon arrival, officers observed the vehicle resting on its side with significant damage.

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old male, Jamie Henderson, of St. George has been charged with:

  • Operation While Impaired – Alcohol
  • Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)

The accused was released from custody with a court date scheduled for March 27, 2025, in Brantford. The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded.

Trinity CADA – Drunk Driving

(BILLINGS TOWNSHIP, ON) – One person has been arrested for impaired operation after police received a traffic complaint.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 10:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint reporting a possible impaired driver on Highway 540 in Billings Township. Shortly after, police located the vehicle on Highway 540 near Black Rock Road, and conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation on scene resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

The driver, Trinity CADA, 24-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Drive motor vehicle – no licence
  • Operator a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on April 15, 2025.

Steven VAREY – Drunk Driving

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired related charges after police received a call about a person on a snowmobile.

On March 9, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call reporting that a person on a snowmobile arrived at a medical facility in Espanola and was potentially intoxicated. Police arrived on scene, and further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

As a result, Steven VAREY, 35-years-old from Espanola, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on April 7, 2025.
