Drug Bust At RIDE

(Kirkland Lake, ON) – The Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three people with drug related offences.

On April 14, 2024, a vehicle entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in the Town of Kirkland Lake. Members of the Kirkland Lake OPP determined one of the occupants was wanted on an outstanding warrant.  

As a result of the investigation, police located and seized drugs suspected to be fentanyl, methamphetamine, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and drug paraphernalia with an approximate street value of $6,320.00.

As a result of the investigation, Karen PICHE, 41-years-old, of Senneterre, Quebec was charged with:        

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

–      Possession of a Schedule III substance

–      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

–      Fail to comply with probation order – three counts

Jean Francois BARIL-LANDRY, 38-years-old, of Senneterre, Quebec was charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

–      Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

Nathaniel AUMOND, 36-years-old, of Amos, Quebec was charged with:

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.

–      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking-opioid

–      Fail to surrender insurance card

Jean Francois BARIL-LANDRY and Nathaniel AUMOND have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 30, 2024.

Kim PICHE was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.

60Kg Cocaine & 13Kg Meth Seized – Names Released

(TORONTO, ON) – Twenty illegal firearms and 73 kilograms of illicit drugs have been seized by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Joint Forces Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG).  

The OPP-led PGNG assisted the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) Organized Crime Division with a drug trafficking investigation that identified large quantities of cocaine transported between Toronto and Montréal and the surrounding area.

On March 27, 2024, PGNG executed two search warrants on a vehicle and a residence on Ridelle Avenue in Toronto. The following items were seized:

·      Approximately 60 kilograms of cocaine

·      Approximately 13 kilograms of methamphetamine

·      20 firearms including 19 handguns and one assault rifle

·      3,000 rounds of ammunition

·      53 magazines

·      Four drum magazines

·      66 Glock auto switches (used to convert to automatic firearms)

·      Three bullet proof vests

·      One ballistic helmet

Bradley NELSON, 35 years of age of Whitby, was arrested in Toronto by PGNG. The accused has been charged with a total of 68 charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act including:

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm – 20 counts

·      Unauthorized possession of a firearm knowing its unauthorized – 20 counts

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking firearms – 19 counts

·      Possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order – two counts

·      Possession of a prohibited device – two counts

·      Careless storage of a firearm

·      Trafficking of a controlled substance, cocaine

·      Trafficking of a controlled substance, methamphetamine

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking, cocaine

·      Possession for the purpose of trafficking, methamphetamine

The accused was held in custody and will appear before an Ontario Court of Justice in Toronto on May 2, 2024.

Elisha THOMPSON Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – A local resident is facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

On April 10, 2024, just before 10:30 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP CSCU, with the assistance of the Rainy River OPP CSCU and the Sioux Lookout OPP CSCU, executed a search warrant at a residence on Casimir Avenue in the City of Dryden.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine. Other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result of the investigation, Elisha THOMPSON, 34-years-old, of Dryden, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·        Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on May 6, 2024.

Michael BOLGER Facing Numerous Charges

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a person following the execution of a search warrant in Quinte West.

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 06:00 a.m., the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) assisted by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) and members of the Quinte West Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence on O’Neil Crescent, Trenton, as part of a drug trafficking investigation. As a result, an individual was arrested resulting in a firearm, cash, ammunition, suspected cocaine, oxycodone, MDMA (ecstasy), amphetamine, psilocybin (mushrooms) and other items suspected to be related to drug trafficking being confiscated.

Michael BOLGER, 43 years old from Quinte West was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
  • Careless storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

Bronson Ash Morgan Ireland Was Arrested

LONDON, ON (April 15, 2024) – A London man has been arrested after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to a suspicious vehicle in the south end of the city over the weekend.

On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., an employee of a business in the area of Wonderland Road South and Southdale Road West called police to report a suspicious vehicle.

A description of the male driver and vehicle was provided.

Police located the man inside a business in the area.

During the interaction with the man, police learned he was wanted on outstanding warrants.

The male was arrested.

A search of the man yielded a quantity of drugs.

As a result of the investigation, Bronson Ash Morgan Ireland, 34, of London, has been charged with the following offences;

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance; and,
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to re-appear in London court on May 3, 2024, in relation to the charges.

Drug Bust – SUTHERLAND & GAUVIN

(KAPUSKASING, ON) – Two separate arrests made by the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on April 5, 2024, led to drug trafficking charges in Kapuskasing.

On April 5, 2024, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the James Bay OPP responded to an unwanted person call at a business on Cain Avenue. Police attended and arrested the subject of the complaint on an unrelated arrest warrant.

Police performed a search incident to arrest and seized drugs suspected to be fentanyl, and crystal methamphetamine (see attached photo.)

As a result of this investigation, Faith SUTHERLAND, 23-years-of-age, of Kapuskasing, was charged with the following:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid

·        Enter premises when entry prohibited

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 13, 2024 in Kapuskasing.

Earlier that same day, April 5, 2024, shortly after 3:00 p.m., the James Bay OPP responded to a call reporting an assault that had reportedly occurred on March 30, 2024. The suspect in the case was located and arrested for the assault, and during a search incident to arrest, police seized drugs suspected to be methamphetamine.

As a result of this investigation, Joey GAUVIN, 51-years-of-age, of Kapuskasing, was charged with the following:

·        Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

·        Possession of a schedule I substance – methamphetamine

·        Assault causing bodily harm

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 29, 2024 in Kapuskasing.

Owen CHANG – Drug Trafficking

(KENORA, ON) – An investigation led by the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in drug trafficking charges.

On April 9, 2024, just before 12:00 p.m., members of the Kenora OPP CSCU were conducting an investigation in the area of Bernier Drive in the City of Kenora when they observed drug transactions take place.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of one individual and the seizure of suspected illicit substances including methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and dilaudid. Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, Owen CHANG, 30-years-old, of Kenora, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·        Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

·        Traffick in Schedule I Substance – Opioid

·        Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kenora at a later date.

TRUDEAU Arrested In Drug Bust

(ESPANOLA, ON) – Two people have been arrested and charged after being stopped at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) program.

On April 10, 2024, shortly after 2:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Highway 6 in Espanola.

While a vehicle was stopped at the R.I.D.E., police observed open alcohol within the vehicle. A search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted, which led to the discovery of suspected drugs. Police located and seized approximately 56 grams of suspected cocaine and a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $8,000. Both vehicle occupants were subsequently arrested and transported to the OPP detachment.

As a result of the investigation, Kelsie JOCKO, 29-years-old from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a prohibited device
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Possession property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

Jeffrey TRUDEAU, 36-years-old from Wikwemikong Unceded Territory has been charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court
  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

Both accused persons were held in custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury Bail Court on April 10, 2024.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Another Drug Bust In Norfolk

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals were charged following an investigation into drug trafficking by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 8:57 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU conducted a vehicle stop and investigation at a location on Colborne Street South in Simcoe, Norfolk County. During the interaction, officers had sufficient grounds to arrest the driver for drug-related offences.

As a result, both the driver and the sole passenger were taken into custody without incident. A search of the occupants and the vehicle led to the discovery of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and Percocets, along with Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 42-year-old Joey WHITE of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused was detained in custody to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 35-year-old Lisa BARBER of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

Another Repeat Offender Arrested Again – Meth a Factor

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Two people were arrested and charged after The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop.

On April 8, 2024, shortly before 2:00 a.m., members from the Nipissing West Detachment of the OPP were on general patrol, and conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Front Street, West Nipissing.

The driver was found to be a suspended driver and was arrested. A search of the vehicle located knives, digital scales and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine and cocaine.

As a result of the investigation, Keith BAZINET, 45-years-of-age, from the Noelville, was charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Have care or control of vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8, 2024, in North Bay.

The passenger, Samantha LABELLE, 36-years-of-age, from Sudbury, was also arrested and charged with, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on May 2, 2024, in North Bay.

Another Drug Bust – Names Released

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Three individuals were charged following an investigation into drug trafficking and the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU conducted a vehicle stop and investigation at a location on Nelson Street West in Port Dover, Norfolk County. During the interaction, officers had sufficient grounds to arrest the occupants for drug-related offences.

As a result, both the driver and the sole passenger were taken into custody without incident. A search of the occupants and the vehicle led to the discovery of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 42-year-old Joey WHITE of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine (two counts),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs,

Charged with the following alleged offences is 53-year-old Jason ATAMANCHUK of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence on St. Andrew Street in Port Dover, Norfolk County.

During the search, officers discovered and seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and Adderall, along with a prohibited weapon, Canadian currency, and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 31-year-old Jenny VITTIE of Norfolk County:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine (two counts),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon,
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
  • Failure to comply with Release Order – other than to attend court.

The accused was detained in custody to appear at a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe.

Meth Bust – MAURER, HOOPER

(Kirkland Lake, ON) – The Northeast Region Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two people with drug related offences.

On April 5, 2024, members of the Northeast CSCU of the OPP, executed a search warrant at a residence on Main Street and at a residence on Premier Avenue West in the Town of Kirkland Lake.

A search of the residences resulted in police seizing drugs suspected to be cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, Michael MAURER, 47-years-old, of Kirkland Lake was charged with:        

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

Richard HOOPER, 44-years-old, of Kirkland Lake was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

Both accused persons have been released and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on May 2, 2024.

Anonymous Criminals Thriving In Owen Sound

On Sunday April 7, 2024 at 7:15 p.m. two individuals were assaulted by an associate at their east side residence.  After punching a female in the face, the accused left the area upon learning that police had been called.

Owen Sound Police Officers attended to investigate the situation and subsequently located the accused a short distance away.  The man was arrested for two counts of assault.  During a search, the man was found in possession of one ounce of Fentanyl which has an approximate street value of $6000.   Police also seized a smaller quantity of Psilocybin from him (‘Magic Mushrooms’).

Through further investigation, police determined that the man had been supplying Fentanyl to drug users in Owen Sound.

The 25-year-old man from Scarborough, remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing, charged with Trafficking Fentanyl, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Psilocybin and two counts of Assault.

$50,000 Drug Bust

(RED LAKE, ON) – Members of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged two individuals with drug related charges.

On April 3rd 2024, just after 9:00 p.m., while conducting proactive general patrol on Howey Street, members of the Red Lake OPP Detachment observed a parked motor vehicle with a passenger littering on the highway. Officers conducted a traffic stop and throughout the investigation, a large amount of suspected Oxycodone tabs, Codeine tabs, Crack Cocaine and Cocaine were located and seized. The street value of the drugs, travelling to the First Nation community of Sandy Lake, was approximately $50,000 CAD.

Both occupants were subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Red Lake OPP Detachment.

As a result, Samantha KENT, 49 years old, of Sandy Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts

Furthermore, John NOON, 50 years old, of Sandy Lake First Nation, has been arrested and charged under the Controlled Drug and Substance Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts

Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Red Lake on July 18th, 2024.

Drug Bust – 2 Arrested – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals for drug trafficking and drug possession related offences.

On April 4, 2024, at about 2:00 p.m., Orillia OPP officers responded to a call for service regarding reports of drug activity at an address in the City of Orillia. Upon arriving at the location officers commenced their investigation and identified several individuals who were present. 5 individuals were arrested and officers continued the investigation. Two individuals were charged at the conclusion of the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

  • Fentanyl 5.3 grams
  • Cocaine 22 grams
  • 69 medication tablets
  • Scales, packaging
  • Cell phone

Cathy DELONG, 42-years-old, of Orillia, has been charged with:

·      Trafficking schedule 1 substance – Cocaine

·      Possession of schedule 1 substance – opioid (other than heroine)

·      Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in May 2024.

Adam NORWOOD, 37-years-old, of Oro-Medonte, has been charged with:

·      Possession of schedule 1 substance – opioid (other than heroine)
