Drug Bust – Names Released

(NORTH BAY, ON) – Two persons arrested for drug trafficking following a traffic stop.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m., the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol duties on Highway 11, Powassan.

Police observed a silver car travelling northbound on Highway 11 at a high rate of speed. The car was travelling approximately 94 kilometers an hour above the posted speed limit. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop and the vehicle fled.

A short time later, the same vehicle was located on the North Bay bypass. The OPP and North Bay Police Service worked in collaboration to stop the dangerous driver safely and effectively. After arresting the driver, police seized approximately 740 grams of suspected Fentanyl and approximately 22 grams of unidentified pills. The drugs have a total approximate street value of $223,000.

Tsion GIRMA 19-years-of-age of Pickering was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Fail to stop for police
  • Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Dangerous operation
  • Flight from peace officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl

Tresean THOMPSON 19-years-of-age of Scarborough was arrested and charged with: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl.

The accused persons remain in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in North Bay on July 4, 2024.

Nicolas WALL Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual is facing multiple charges as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking and stolen property, which included the execution of a search warrant at a residence by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, the Haldimand/Norfolk OPP CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence on Imperial Street in Delhi, Norfolk County.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

A search of the residence and premises led to the discovery and seizure of a quantity of suspected Hydromorphone, amphetamine, cocaine, and ecstasy (MDMA). Additionally, Canadian and American currency, drug paraphernalia, and a replica firearm were confiscated.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 29-year-old Nicolas WALL of Norfolk County:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (nine counts),
  • Drive motor vehicle – improper licence (six counts),
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle (five counts),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin),
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

Police anticipate additional charges as this investigation continues. Updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

2 Arrested In Drug Bust – Names Released

(TOWN OF WASAGA BEACH, ON) – Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male and female with prohibited driving and drug related charges.

In early April 2024, Members from Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) initiated a drug trafficking investigation into a female believed to be trafficking fentanyl and cocaine in the Huronia West Detachment area. The female had been the subject of a previous drug investigation in West Region and is presently before the courts for those charges. Further investigation led to the identification of a male party believed to be involved in drug trafficking along with the female.

On June 17th, 2024, CSCU observed evidence consistent with drug trafficking. Investigators were able to safely conduct a traffic stop with the assistance of uniform officers from Huronia West OPP.

Accused male and female were arrested and charged with drug related offences. The vehicle was transported to the Huronia West Detachment where a search was conducted. As a result of the search a significant amount of fentanyl and cocaine along with offence related currency were seized.

Lisa PHARAND, 42-year-old of South Bruce Peninsula, was arrested and charged with the following:

·        Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid other than Heroin

Richard CARVER, 41-year-old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with the following:

·        Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·        Possession of Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid other than Heroin

·        Operation While Prohibited

Both male and female were held for bail.

Leroy VINCENT Was Arrested

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two individuals are facing drug trafficking charges following an investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Dryden OPP detachment.  

On June 26, 2024, just before 7:00 a.m., members of the Dryden OPP CSCU conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17, Satterly Township. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine and oxycodone. 

As a result of the investigation, Leroy VINCENT, 57-years-old, of Wabigoon, and a 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine 

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone 

The accused individuals have been released from custody. Leroy VINCENT is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 15, 2024, in Dryden. The 17-year-old is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 23, 2024, in Dryden.

Exeter Drug Bust, Two Arrested

(EXETER, ON) – Two individuals are facing several Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) charges after a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Exeter.

In June of 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) in London began an investigation into two individuals believed to be trafficking illegal substances in the Town of Exeter and the surrounding Huron County area. On June 25, 2024, the investigative team executed a search warrant in Exeter with assistance from the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit and the Huron County OPP Detachment.

As a result of the search warrant, police seized the following:

  • Approximately 255 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately 33 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 26 suboxone tablets
  • Five morphine tablets
  • 42 unknown tablets
  • A quantity of a suspected cutting agent
  • 19 rounds of shotgun shells
  • Two digital scales
  • $1,280 CAD
  • Two cell phones

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $13,700.

Carly JOHNS, age 29 of Exeter, has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code and CDSA:

  • Possession of ammunition contrary to prohibition order
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession – buprenorphine
  • Possession – morphine

Travis DAVIS, age 35 of Exeter has been charged with the following offences contrary to the CDSA:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession – buprenorphine
  • Possession – morphine

The accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on a later date.

Drug Bust: Names Released

(NIPIGON, ON) – Two Nipigon residents are facing drug trafficking charges following a search warrant execution in Nipigon.

On June 25, 2024, just after 1:00 p.m., members of the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of the Nipigon OPP Detachment, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Harkness Street.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and psilocybin. Canadian currency and other items associated with drug trafficking were also seized.

As a result, Samantha HARDY, 31-years-old, and Mitchell ALCOCK, 31-years-old, both of Nipigon, have been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and CDSA with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

ALCOCK has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on August 20, 2024. HARDY is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on June 28, 2024.

Drug & Weapons Bust

(PEMBROKE, ON) – Four individuals are facing drug and weapons-related charges after a traffic stop in the City of Pembroke.

On the afternoon of June 21, 2024, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with the assistance of patrol officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the OPP conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle on Hunter Street in Pembroke.

Brass knuckles and a quantity of suspected cocaine were seized by police. Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident  A fourth individual was arrested after a foot chase and an officer sustained minor injuries after being assaulted.   

As a result of the investigation 33-year-old Tyler GODERRE of Pembroke, 20-year-old Patricia GOULET-COUSINEAU of Pembroke, 31-year-old Kyle JONES of Pembroke, and 30-year-old Terry TURCOTTE of Pembroke have each been charged with the following Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and Criminal Code (CC) offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a prohibited device

TURCOTTE faces the following additional CC charges:

  • Assault a peace officer
  • Resist a peace officer
  • Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts

GODERRE faces the following additional CC charge:

  • Obstruct peace officer

JONES faces the following additional Highway Traffic Act (HTA) charge:

  • Driving under licence of another jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario

TURCOTTE was held for bail hearing and remains in custody until his next court appearance on June 28, 2024, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke. GODERRE was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 29, 2024. JONES and GOULET-COUSINEAU were released and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on July 30, 2024.

9 Kilo Cocaine Bust

(OTTAWA, ON) – A four-month Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) investigation in the Ottawa area has led to the seizure of approximately nine kilograms of suspected cocaine and numerous drug trafficking and firearms charges.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and uniform members of the Ottawa OPP Detachment, with assistance from the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Tactical Unit and Drug Unit, executed three search warrants in Ottawa and Kanata on June 14, 2024.

Officers seized the following:

  •         Approximately nine kilograms of suspected cocaine
  •        Approximately $47,000 CAD currency
  •         9mm loaded handgun with ammunition
  •         One vehicle as offence-related property

As a result of the investigation, Reyan ABDULKADER, age 29 of Ottawa, has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code and CDSA:

  •         Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  •         Possession of firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  •         Possession of loaded prohibited/restricted firearm
  •         Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
  •         Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there is a firearm
  •         Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  •         Possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Ottawa on June 24, 2024.

Kincardine Drug Bust: Name Released

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On June 22, 2024, at 2:07 a.m., officers with the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped to check a vehicle during a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program in the Municipality of Brockton

During the interaction with the occupants, officers observed illicit drugs in plain view. A search led to the seizure of drugs.

As a result of the investigation, the South Bruce OPP have charged:

Sam Van Bakel, 20-years-old, from Hensall Ontario is charged with:

  • Poss. of a Schedule 1

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

2.4 Kilo Cocaine Bust

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A Greater Toronto Area resident has been charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG), comprised of members of 20 police services, including Thunder Bay Police Service and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service.

On June 18, 2024, officers seized approximately 2.4 kilograms of suspected cocaine and two cell phones following a vehicle stop on Highway 11/17 in Shuniah Township.

As a result of the investigation, Alondra MOFFATT, 23 years old of Mississauga, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on June 24, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachments Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of drugs.

Over the last few months, Orillia CSCU began investigating individuals who were allegedly trafficking drugs in the City of Orillia to a specific address on Barrie Rd and Dunlop St. Utilizing investigative techniques police were able to gather evidence further advancing their investigation. On June 21, 2024 – satisfied with the information gathered the Orillia CSCU proceeded to the next steps in their investigation. With the assistance of Orillia OPP frontline members a search warrant was executed at an address on Barrie Rd. in the City of Orillia and four individuals were arrested and charged with several Drug related charges.

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

1 functioning digital scale.

Approximately 3 grams methamphetamine.

48 “PGB” capsules.

9.5 grams cocaine.

Cutting agents.

1 functioning police radio scanner.

975.00 in Canadian Currency.

Drug Bust – 2 Arrested

(HALDIMAND COUNTYON) – Two individuals have been charged following a drug trafficking investigation.

Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand/Norfolk Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) began a drug trafficking investigation into two individuals trafficking illicit drugs in the Dunnville area.

On June 17, 2024, a traffic stop was conducted on Caistorville Road, near Canborough and both occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest.

Stefanie REAMAN, 42-years-old and Kevin Stire, 37-years-old, both from Dunnville have been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

As a result of the investigation, quantities of suspected MDMA, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, as well as a quantity of Canadian currency was seized.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on July 30, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a quantity of drugs and charged three individuals as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Caledon.

On June 18, 2024, members of the Caledon Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with Nottawasaga CSCU, Collingwood CSCU, Huronia West CSCU, Orillia CSCU, City of Kawartha Lakes CSCU, Southern Georgian Bay CSCU, Barrie Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau OCEB, and uniform executed seven search warrants at homes in Caledon and Schomberg. The search warrants resulted in the arrest of three individuals who are facing multiple charges. In addition, the officers seized a quantity of drugs. 

Ryan SUITOR, 37, of Schomberg, was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Heroin

·      Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm

·      Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammo

·      Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order – 4 counts

·      Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

The accused was held for Bail and to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice.

Matthew REGENT, 38, of Bolton, was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine

·      Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

·      Fail to comply with release order

Alfredo GALLO, 29, of Caledon, was charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule II substance – Other Drugs

The two accused are scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on July 4th, 2024, to answer to the charges.

The following property was seized:

·      Powder cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, oxycodone pills, prescription pills, heroin.

·      Items consistent with drug trafficking

·      A large amount of Canadian currency

·      Witness P .45 calibre handgun

Drug Bust – Names Released

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – On Friday June 14, 2024, at just after 11:00 p.m., a uniform member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Main Street, Thedford, ON for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

During the traffic stop, the officer located a quantity of suspected illegal drugs within the vehicle. Officers seized 43 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 29 grams of suspected Cocaine and a quantity of pills with an estimated street value of approximately $5700.

Terese BRESSETTE, 47-year-old of Kettle and Stoney Point, First Nation has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice – Sarnia on August 7, 2024.

Andrew BARTLETT, 47-year-old of Thedford, ON has also been charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Opioid

The accused remains in custody due to outstanding Warrants for Arrest.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(SABLES-SPANISH RIVERS TOWNSHIP, ON) – Two people have been arrested and charged for weapon and drug offences in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

On June 15, 2024, shortly after 12:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified by a member of the public of a possible impaired driver on Grove Street. Police patrolled the area, locating the vehicle parked at a residence on Saubles Street East in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

Police approached the vehicle and observed an individual sitting in the front passenger seat. Upon speaking with this individual, police were notified that they were breaching their release order. This person was subsequently arrested. While arresting this individual, police were then approached by a second individual who attempted to intervene. This person was also subsequently arrested.

Police conducted a search and located suspected cocaine, a dagger style knife, and approximately $16,000 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation, Jessie MIGWANS, 25-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Also, Devonte BLAIR, 28-years-old from Scarborough has been charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Obstruct peace officer

Both accused persons were held in custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury Bail Court on June 17, 2024.
