Drug Bust – PERRIN Arrested

(WEST ELGIN, ON) – On December 19, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and Lambton CSCU executed a search warrant at a residence in the Municipality of West Elgin.

As a result of the executed search warrant, police seized quantities of suspected narcotics including fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and psilocybin. Police also seized a quantity of other property including a cellular phone and a prohibited weapon.

The OPP has charged Sally PERRIN, a 62-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (Other than heroin)
  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

Additionally, the OPP has charged James PERRIN, a 45-year-old from West Elgin with:

  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon

The accused individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on February 10, 2025.

WATSON – Drug Trafficking

(CALEDON, ON) – Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid charges in connection to a drug trafficking investigation.

In December 2024, the Caledon OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) entered into a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Caledon. With the assistance of CSCUs from Dufferin, City of Kawartha Lakes, and the OPP Central Region Canine Unit, the investigation led officers to execute a search warrant at a residence in Brampton and a vehicle. Cocaine, Oxycodone, currency, and other property were seized.

As a result, Dwight WATSON, 62, of Brampton, was charged with:

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

• Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Other drugs

• Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000

• Traffick in Schedule I substance – Cocaine

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on January 6, 2025, to answer to the charges.

London Police Take $8 Million Worth Of Drugs Off Steets

LONDON, ON (December 18, 2024) – Between July and December of 2024, members of the London Police Service Guns and Gangs Section, with the assistance of members of various other areas within the service, seized multiple guns, drugs and cash from the streets of London. 

“The hard work of our members has delivered significant results.  We have seized large quantities of dangerous drugs, particularly fentanyl and carfentanil, which are driving the opioid crisis and taking far too many lives in our community.  Our continued enforcement efforts have also removed illegal firearms from our streets, contributing to a 48% reduction in gun violence in London.  These results reflect our strong commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of our city,” said Chief Thai Truong. 

“The safety of our community is the number one priority for the London Police Service, and our work continues. I commend our Guns and Gangs Section for the tremendous work they have done to make our community a safer place,” said Deputy Chief Paul Bastien. 

Detective Sergeant Josh Silcox, head of the LPS Guns and Gangs Section said, “Drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession poses a safety risk to everyone in our city. Combating drug trafficking and illegal firearms possession is a team effort that not only involves our team, but our community partners and all Londoners.” 

Since July of 2024, a total of 32 investigations by members of the Guns and Gangs Section resulted in multiple search warrants executed in London, with the following items seized as a result:  

  • 16.9kg of fentanyl
  • 14kg of Cocaine
  • Close to 700 pounds of cannabis seized
  • 27kg of cannabis resin products
  • 2kg of Methamphetamine
  • 2820 dilaudid pills
  • 2249 Oxycodone pills
  • 2.8kg of psilocybin
  • Almost 1kg of carfentanil
  • Over 1kg of MDMA
  • 19 firearms seized
  • Over $650,000 in cash proceeds of drug trafficking

The seized drugs are estimated to have a street value of approximately $8,404,427.

As a result of the warrants and seizures, a total of 70 people were charged resulting in a combined 160 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges, and 371 Criminal Code of Canada charges.

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of two arrests made in a Drug Trafficking and Firearm investigation.

It is alleged that:

  • a man and a youth were involved in trafficking illicit drugs throughout the city and were in possession of an illegal firearm

It is further alleged that:

  • On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, members of the Toronto Police Drug Squad executed a search warrant at a residence
  • a loaded Glock 43 semiautomatic handgun, approximately 1670 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of crack cocaine, approximately 12 grams of fentanyl, approximately 133 grams of psilocybin, $7,590 CAD, $100 USD, a taser, three cell phones, packaging and digital scales were located and seized

Michael-Ryan Bond, 37, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  2. Possession Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  5. Possession of Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of Prohibited Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 402.

A male youth, 17*, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. Three Counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  2. Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000
  4. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 
  5. Possession of a Firearm Knowing Possession is Unauthorized
  6. Careless Storage of a Firearm
  7. Possession of prohibited weapon
  8. Possession of a Firearm While Prohibited

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 10 a.m., in room 105.

$40,000 Drug Bust – ADEOYA

(MAGNETAWAN FIRST NATION, ON) – The West Parry Sound Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one person with drug related offences after a traffic stop on Highway 69 near Magnetawan First Nation.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m. officers stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. Officers located cannabis readily available to the driver and a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in officers locating a large quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $40,000. 

Abdul-Samad ADEOYA, 21-years-old from Brampton was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of schedule 1 substance
  • Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available

The accused persons were held for bail and will be returning before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound on December 18, 2024.

Drug Bust – MCCALLUM & PICHETTE

(RENFREW, ON) – Two people are facing numerous drug trafficking charges in Arnprior.

As part of an ongoing investigation, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and members of the Renfrew Detachment conducted a traffic stop in Arnprior on December 13, 2024. Two people were arrested without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed nearly 50 grams of suspected cocaine, more than 10 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 400 suspected methamphetamine tablets, over 17 grams of suspected crack cocaine, more than 20 capsules of amphetamine salts, four cell phones, a replica firearm, items typically associated with drug trafficking and almost $2900 in cash.

Brandon MCCALLUM, age 42, and Natasha PICHETTE, age 34, both from Arnprior, are charged with:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – six counts

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

Both accused were released from custody following bail hearings. They are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on January 29, 2025.

$40,000 Drug Bust

An investigation by the Windsor Police Service has led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure over $40,000 in cash and drugs.

On December 13, 2024, officers from the Windsor Police Drugs and Guns Enforcement Unit (DIGS) obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 300 block of Glengarry Avenue where trafficking was suspected to occur. Shortly after 2 p.m., with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit (ESU), officers entered the residence to execute the warrant.

Upon entry, officers arrested a 34-year-old male, 27-year-old male, and 24-year-old female suspected of trafficking.

Following the arrest, officers conducted a search of the residence. The search returned 122.5 grams of fentanyl, 15.4 grams of cocaine, 36.1 grams of crack cocaine, and 34.4 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The total value of drugs seized in the operation was $37,839.

Officers also seized a set of brass knuckles, four cellphones, four digital scales, packaging materials, and $3,340 in Canadian currency.

Velman Santos, 34, Sunday Atahir, 27, and Mary Atahir, 24, have each been charged with:

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely fentanyl
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely cocaine
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely crack cocaine
• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, namely crystal methamphetamine 

Santos has also been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon (x 6), disobeying a lawful order, and failure to comply with a probation order.

Sunday Atahir has also been charged with failure to comply with a release order.

6 Arrested in Drug Trafficking Investigation

On Wednesday afternoon, a Barrie Police Service frontline uniform led investigation, that received assistance from the Service’s Criminal Investigation Division, Tactical Support Unit, Canine Unit and the Community Safety and Well-Being, concluded with the arrest of six people.

As part of this investigation, a Criminal Code Search Warrant was executed at a unit in a north Barrie apartment complex and a large quantity of suspected cocaine and fentanyl was seized. Two males associated to this proactive drug trafficking investigation were taken into custody as they attended a nearby plaza and a large shopping mall located on Bayfield Street. Both males were also found to be in possession of drugs at the time of their arrest and the male arrested at the plaza was in possession of a loaded handgun.

Three males and three females are all facing drug related possession and trafficking charges and have been held in custody for a bail hearing.

Firearms & Drugs Seized – Mario K FRANCIS Arrested

A male is facing charges after an investigation leads to firearms and drug possession in Ajax.

In November, 2024, investigators from the Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) began an investigation into a male believed to be in possession of a firearm and involved in trafficking females.

On Wednesday, December 11, 2024, members of the HTU, with the assistance of the Robbery Unit, arrested the suspect and executed search warrants in Ajax.  A search of the suspect located a loaded handgun in his front waistband.  Two additional loaded handguns, a quantity of drugs, and numerous electronics were located during the search warrants.

Mario K FRANCIS, age 35, from Ajax is charged with numerous offences including: Possess Loaded Restricted/Prohibited Firearm x3, Possess Restricted/Prohibited Firearm – No Licence x3, Possess Prohibited DeviceCarry Concealed Weapon, Careless Storage of a Firearm x3, Occupy Vehicle with Firearm, Tampering with Serial Number, Possession of a Schedule I Substance (cocaine)and Fail to Comply with Probation Order x3.

He was held for a bail hearing.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(KENORA, ON) – On December 4, 2024, members of the Kenora OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 17 East.

Following the stop, two parties were placed under arrest for possession for the purpose of trafficking. As a result of a search, 25.34 grams of fentanyl, 2x 8mg hydromorphone pills and evidence of drug trafficking was seized.

As a result of the investigation the following individuals have been charged:

Julien THERIAULT – 36 year old male from Kenora

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl – Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – hydromorphone – Section 4(1) CDSA

Sally KOKOKOPENACE – 26 year old female from Grassy Narrows

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl – Section 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – hydromorphone – Section 4(1) CDSA

All arrested parties have been held in custody pending a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice of Kenora.

Drug Bust – 3 Arrested, Names Released

(ALLISTON, ON) – As a result of an ongoing police investigation, members of the Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) with assistance from the Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) from Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant on Knight Street, in the Town of New Tecumseth.

In the fall of 2024 Nottawasaga CSCU began an investigation regarding a male trafficking drug in downtown Alliston. Officers observed activity consistent with drug trafficking and obtained a CDSA Search warrant.

On December 10th, 2024, Officers observed Accused 2 conduct a drug transaction in the Town of Tottenham and with the assistance of ERT officers arrested the male while he was parked on the side of the road in Tottenham.

Nottawasaga CSCU officers then attended the residence and executed a CDSA search warrant shortly before 1:00 p.m. 

A search of the residence along with 3 vehicles was completed where police seized the following items:

Approximately 2 ounces of cocaine, 4 imitation handguns, 1 imitation rifle,1 prohibited knife, 12 knives, 5 sword/Axe/Cleavers, 2 cell phones, scales, brass knuckles, body armour carrier, 2 stolen sets of headphones, and a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with a value of $30,000 seized as offence related property. 

Investigators have arrested and charged the following individuals contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

Drug Bust – GREER & MCGill

(MANITOUWADGE, ON) – The Manitouwadge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged two people with drug related offences following the execution of a drug warrant.

On December 4, 2024, OPP members from the Marathon Community Street Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team, and the Canine Unit, executed a Controlled Drug and Substances warrant on a residence in Manitouwadge.

A search resulted in the seizure of prohibited firearms, replica style firearms, prohibited weapons and suspected crystal methamphetamine. 

As a result of this investigation, Stephanie GREER, 31-years-old of Manitouwadge, ON has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose – two counts
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – seven counts
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose – five counts
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device – seven counts
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a schedule I substance

The accused was released from custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice Manitouwadge on February 26, 2025.

Additionally, Christopher MCGILL, 35-years-old of Manitouwadge, ON has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device – seven counts
  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose – three counts
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose – ten counts
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
  • Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition for a dangerous purpose – five counts
  • Possession of a schedule I substance
  • Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

The accused was held in custody and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice – Thunder Bay Bail court on December 5, 2024.

South Huron Drug Bust – RYCKMAN & YOUNG

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – An investigation conducted by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), Grey-Bruce OPP CSCU, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Huron County OPP detachment resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and offence-related property. Criminal charges have been laid against two South Huron residents.

A drug trafficking investigation in South Huron was initiated by members of the Huron-Perth CSCU which led investigators to an address in South Huron.

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, a search warrant was executed on Main Street in the Town of Exeter which resulted in the seizure of several types of illegal drugs and related property. Two individuals have been arrested and charged.

The total value of drugs seized is estimated at $3,945. The total value of seized property including an imitation firearm pellet gun is $1,400.

Kyle RYCKMAN, 29 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine,
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Opioid (Fentanyl),
  • Fail to Comply with Probation.

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025.

Robert YOUNG, 58 years of age from South Huron has been charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine,
  • Possession of Opioid (Clonazepam).

The accused was processed and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice on January 13, 2025.

Kilo Cocaine Bust

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – A Quinte West resident faces drug trafficking charges after an investigation by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Street Crime Unit members, assisted by OPP Emergency Response Team members, the Canine Unit and Quinte West OPP members, executed search warrants in the west end of Quinte West. One person was arrested.

Officers seized over one kilogram of suspected cocaine, 600 suspected oxycodone pills, nearly seven grams of suspected methamphetamine, and over $4,600 in cash. They also items typically associated to drug trafficking, as well as a conducted energy weapon and a butterfly knife.  

Tanner WICKENS, age 24 of Quinte West, has been charged with: 

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a prohibited device – two counts

The accused was remanded in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville at a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – An investigation led by the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance from members of the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Northwest Region Canine Unit, and the Dryden OPP detachment has led to charges being laid against multiple individuals.

On December 3, 2024, just prior to 9:00 a.m., a search warrant was executed on a residence on Wellington Street in Zealand Township (Wabigoon). The investigation resulted in the arrest of several individuals and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, fentanyl, and oxycodone, as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Daniel SMITH-TRACY, 31-years-old of Ajax, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Obstruct peace officer

William KENNY, 56-years-old, of Wabigoon, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – oxycodone

Erica BEARDY, 33-years-old of Wabigoon, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl  
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Fail to comply with Probation Order

Monique OLSON, 35-years-old, of Ignace, has been arrested and charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl

William KENNY has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Dryden on January 6, 2025.
