Danielle HUNT Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON) – An early morning vehicle stop in Midland by an officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has resulted in the seizure of a quantity of drugs from two individuals.

A traffic infraction at approximately 4:05 a.m. April 7, 2025 led the officer to stop the gold coloured Jeep and speak to the driver and further search the vehicle locating a quantity of substances believed to be listed under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act along with a quantity of drug paraphernalia.

As a result of these investigations, the driver of the vehicle Danielle HUNT 36 years of Barrie has been charged with the following offences.

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

And Further with the Following Provincial Offences Violations

  • Fail to have insurance card
  • Fail to carry permit in vehicle
  • Disobey stop sign – fail to stop
  • Driving while under suspension

The passenger of the vehicle, Blair CLARE 33 years of no fixed address Midland was also charged with the offence of Possession of a Schedule I Substance- Other Drugs contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

Both accused persons were released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on May 15, 2025.

Two Facing Drug Charges

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) – Two people are facing charges after a traffic stop resulted in police seizing suspected drugs.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were alerted to an unattached licence plate by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system. Police conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Highway 551, and further investigation resulted in both the driver and passenger being arrested.

Additionally, police seized amounts of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and hydromorphone pills with an estimated street value of $21,000.

As a result, the driver, Neil ENSE, 35-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid) – two counts

The passenger, Kristan PANAMICK, 34-years-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation, was charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine) – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (opioid) – two counts

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on May 13, 2025.

All OPP patrol vehicles are equipped with ALPR technology. ALPR has proven to be an effective way to increase the efficiency of discovering and conducting investigations related to both traffic and criminal offences. It does so by detecting licence plates that are linked to occurrences such as wanted or missing persons, stolen vehicles, stolen and unattached plates, suspended/prohibited drivers, vehicles associated with AMBER Alerts and other serious occurrences.

Brandon KOSTIER Was Arrested

(WEST NIPISSINGON) – Police arrested and charged one person with weapons related offences.

On Sunday April 6, 2025, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting foot patrol on Front Street, West Nipissing, when a known wanted person from a previous occurrence was observed walking.

Police arrested the individual and seized a replica air-handgun and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine. As a result of the investigation, Brandon KOSTIER, 29 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was charged with:

  • Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – five counts

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 7, 2025, in North Bay.

Drug Bust – 2 Arrested

(STONE MILLS TOWNSHIP, ON) – A search warrant in Stone Mills Township has led to two people facing charges.

On Thursday, April 3, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit, and officers from the Lennox and Addington County OPP Detachment and the OPP Canine Unit, attended a residence on Cutler Road to execute a search warrant. Officers located just over 20 grams of suspected cocaine as well as a cell phone and packaging material associated with drug trafficking.

Neil BOYCE, a 54-year-old from Stone Mills Township was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

While police were at the residence, a male with an outstanding arrest warrant attended and was arrested.

Chris GRAWBERGER, a 44-year-old from Loyalist Township was charged with obstruct police.

GRAWBERGER was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 6, 2025.

Boyce was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on May 13, 2025.

Drug Bust – Jesse BARWELL Arrested

(ORILLIA, ON) – Members of the Orillia Detachment Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid drug trafficking related charges and seized a quantity of illicit drugs, after executing a search warrant in Barrie.

In February of 2025, Orillia CSCU began investigating an individual who was allegedly trafficking drugs throughout Simcoe County. Police were able to utilize investigative techniques and confirm this information.

On April 2nd, 2025, satisfied with the information gathered, the Orillia CSCU with assistance from Collingwood/Huronia West CSCU executed a search warrant at a Meadow Lane address in Barrie. One person was arrested and safely brought into police custody

As a result of the investigation, the following was seized:

133 grams – Cocaine

701 grams – Cutting agent

$1380 Canadian Currency

6 cellular devices

Rolex and Cartier Watches (proceeds of crime)

Other indicia of trafficking

Jesse BARWELL, 25-year-old of Barrie, has been charged with:

Adult Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

Adult Poss of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

The accused was released with a future court date.

Scott PURVES Was Arrested

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 31, 2025 at 10:20 p.m., Huntsville OPP officers were called to a business on King William Street at the report of two suspicious persons on the property.

Upon arrival at the location, police located a male and female on the property. Both of the people had outstanding warrants of arrest and were subsequently taken into custody. The investigation revealed the male to be in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine and various prohibited weapons.

The female was arrested and released with a new court date. No additional charges were required.

As a result of the investigation the male was charged:

Scott PURVES, 43 years old of Huntsville Ontario is charged:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance

·      Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition x 2

·      Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order

The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Ontario on April 1, 2025.

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On March 31, 2025 at 4:20 p.m., Huntsville OPP officers were on patrol when they observed a female they knew to have outstanding warrants.  

The investigation revealed the accused to be in possession of a quantity of suspected cocaine and various items that indicate possible drug trafficking offenses.

Russell SOUTHWIND Facing Numerous Charges

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person has been arrested after police responded to an alarm call.

On March 26, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received an alarm call at a local postal facility in the Sables-Spanish Rivers Township. Police arrived on scene and observed signs that the facility had been broken into. One person was located inside the facility, and they were safely arrested by police.

Additionally, police seized an amount of suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, methamphetamine and dried cannabis with an estimated street value of $18,000. Also seized were several throwing knives, two large hunting knives and approximately $1,300 in Canadian Currency.

As a result, Russell SOUTHWIND, 42-years-old from Sagamok Anishnabek First Nation, was charged with:

  • Break and enter a place to commit indictable offence
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid
  • Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Fail to comply with probation order – three counts
  • Possession of over 30g of dried cannabis in a public place
  • Possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling

The accused remains in custody.

Drug Bust – Naeem MOHAMMED & Jessica MCCARRELL

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have seized over $19,000 worth of drugs during a traffic stop in the Municipality of Highlands East.

On March 29, 2025, shortly before 8:00 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop. During the investigation two people were arrested and a search of the vehicle located over 26 grams of suspected fentanyl, over 78 grams of suspected cocaine, pills, scales, and five cell phones. 

Naeem MOHAMMED, age 41 and Jessica MCCARRELL age 40, have been charged with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – three counts

MOHAMMED was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 31, 2025. MCCARRELL was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on May 6, 2025.

Cody BLAIN Was Arrested

(MIDLAND, ON) –  A suspicious vehicle call to the OPP Communications Centre caused officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to attend an Elizabeth Street, Midland address near 11:54 a.m. March 29, 2025 to conduct an investigation into the complaint.

Officers patrolled the area and spoke with an individual who was found to be wanted on outstanding charges by Detachment. Upon being arrested, was searched and resulted in an quantity of substance believed to be fentanyl to be seized.

Charged in connection to these investigations is Cody BLAIN 32 years of no fixed address Midland with the following offence

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin) contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA)

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on May 8, 2025.

(NIPIGON, ON) – Two search warrants were executed by the Nipigon Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) this week, resulting in the seizure of drugs, and arrest of three individuals.

On March 24th, 2025, members of the Nipigon, Greenstone, Thunder Bay and Marathon Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), assisted by members of the Nipigon OPP Detachment arrested an individual following the execution of a search warrant in Lake Helen First Nation, Ontario. As a result of the investigation, officers seized the following items:

·      Suspected hydromorphone

·      Canadian Currency

April FAVEL 43-years old of Nipigon, Ontario has been arrested and charged under Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on the 22nd of April, 2025.

On March 25th, 2025, members of the Nipigon, Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Nipigon OPP Detachment arrested two individuals following the execution of a search warrant in Red Rock, Ontario. As a result of the investigation, officers seized the following items:

·      Suspected cocaine

·      Suspected amphetamine

·      Suspected psilocybin

·      Canadian Currency

Stuart LESPERANCE 33-years old of Red Rock, Ontario has been arrested and charged under Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
  • Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court

The accused was held for bail and remanded to the Thunder Bay district Jail. He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay at a later date.

Alyssa FOWLER 26-years old of Red Rock, Ontario has been arrested and charged under Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs

·      Possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Nipigon on the 13th of May 2025.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) drug trafficking investigation concluded with several arrests and the seizure of drugs, currency and offence related property.

On March 26, 2025, the Fort Frances OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) working with the OPP North West Region Intelligence Unit (NWRIU), Kenora OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Treaty Three Police, the OPP North West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) executed search warrants in Fort Frances and Rainy River.

Seven people were arrested during the warrant execution and police seized approximately 130 grams of cocaine, approximately $2000 in Canadian currency, as well as fraudulent identification, financial cards and other offence related property.

As a result of the investigation, two of the individuals were charged and held by police for a bail hearing.

Mitchell JONES-FOY, 29-years-old of Fort Frances is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and possession of an identity document. 

David Ryan NELSON, 41-years-old of Scarborough is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, possession of a credit card, and possession of an identity document.

Both subjects have been released in bail court and are to appear next in the Fort Frances Ontario Court of Justice on April 28, 2025, to speak to the charges.

Paige MYKE Was Arrested

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A wanted person was arrested in Waterford and now faces multiple drug-related charges.

At approximately 4:09 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, officers from the Haldimand/Norfolk Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit spotted an individual wanted on a warrant on Auty Street in Waterford, Norfolk County.

As a result, the individual was taken into custody without incident.

While searching the individual, officers seized suspected ecstasy (MDMA), Vyvanse, crack cocaine, and a quantity of Canadian currency.

36-year-old Paige MYKE from Norfolk County has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs (two counts),
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

$77,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Three individuals have been arrested and charged following a drug investigation within Northwest region.

On March 25th, 2025, members of the Thunder Bay Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by the Bail Support Team, and Thunder Bay OPP Detachment arrested three individuals at a hotel in Thunder Bay. The arrests were the result of an ongoing drug investigation within Northwest region.

As a result of a search in the investigation, officers seized the following items:

·      450 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine

·      67 grams of suspected cocaine

·      58 grams of suspected Fentanyl

·      34 suspected hydromorphone pills

·      95 suspected Oxycodone pills

·      A Glock .45 calibre handgun with ammunition

·      Indicia of drug trafficking

The approximate street value of the seized drugs in the Northwest region is $77,000.

Louis MALETTE 45-years old of Thunder Bay, Ontario has been arrested and charged under Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with the following offences:

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl

·      Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine

2 Arrested Following Traffic Stop

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals are facing charges after a traffic stop in Simcoe.

At approximately 1:23 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2025, a Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop and initiated an investigation on Talbot Street South in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

The investigation revealed that the driver’s licence was suspended, prohibiting them from operating a vehicle.

During the interaction with the driver and passenger, suspected cocaine was observed inside the vehicle. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

30-year-old Victoria SNOWDEN from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offence:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.

36-year-old Lisa BARBER from Norfolk County has been charged with the following alleged offences:

  • Driving while under suspension (two counts),
  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs,
  • Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor,
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
