(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged one person with weapons related offences.
On Sunday April 6, 2025, the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting foot patrol on Front Street, West Nipissing, when a known wanted person from a previous occurrence was observed walking.
Police arrested the individual and seized a replica air-handgun and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine. As a result of the investigation, Brandon KOSTIER, 29 years-of-age, from West Nipissing was charged with:
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I substance
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order – five counts
The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on April 7, 2025, in North Bay.
