3 Arrested In Drug Bust

(MOOSONEE, ON) – Three individuals are facing multiple charges after police executed a drug-related search warrant at a Moosonee residence, seizing suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and a significant amount of cash.

On April 2, 2025, at approximately 7:30 p.m., the James Bay Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with support from frontline officers of the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), executed a search warrant at a home on Hutchison Road.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested three individuals and seized suspected fentanyl and cocaine with an estimated street value of $50,000. Police also seized four digital scales, packaging materials, five cellular phones, and approximately $12,740 in Canadian currency. 

Priscilla BLUEBOY, 41 years-of-age of Moosonee, Davion ROSE, 28 years-of-age of Toronto, and James SMITH, 35 years-of-age of Listowel, were charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl
  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

The accused individuals remain in custody and are scheduled to appear for before the Ontario Court of Justice in Moosonee on April 4, 2025.

Drug Bust – Names Released

Two people face drug and firearm charges after a pair of search warrants were executed.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit had obtained warrants for a residence and a vehicle as a result of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity.

Officers located a male suspect in the 100 block of Shuniah Street shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 23. A search of the suspect and vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected fentanyl, more than $3,300 in cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Officers then searched a residence on Sequoia Drive and located a loaded shotgun that had a serial number removed, along with paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

A female suspect was arrested and taken into custody.

Emerson SPIESS-RUEF, 27, is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possession of Proceeds of Crime under $5,000, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm.

Kyra GOODMAN, 27, is charged with Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, and Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm.

The accused appeared in court on Friday and have been remanded into custody with future appearance dates.

$250,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

In December of 2024, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) Street Crime Detectives assigned to 3 District (Welland/Pelham) commenced an investigation into the distribution of Fentanyl from an address in Port Colborne.

On Thursday, January 2, 2025, detectives received judicial authorization to execute a search warrant on a property in the area of Welland Street and Louis Street in the City of Port Colborne. As a result of the investigation two suspects have been arrested and detectives recovered the following:

–          5.048 kilograms of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $252,400

–          13.9 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $1390

–          602 suspected Oxycodone pills with an estimated street value of $1806

–          $55,220 in Canadian Currency

–          Glock 9 mm handgun with a loaded magazine containing 10 rounds of ammunition

–          Glock 40 calibre handgun with a loaded magazine containing 13 rounds of ammunition

Jeffrey BOSTON (40 years) of Port Colborne has been arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:

–          Possession of Fentanyl for the Purpose of Trafficking

–          Possession of Crystal Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking

–          Possession of Oxycodone for the Purpose of Trafficking

–          Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

–          Possession of a Restricted Firearm Knowingly Not a License Holder X 2

$120,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

Five people have been charged after police seized drugs and a loaded handgun following a search of a south side residence.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit and Emergency Task Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Donald Street East on the afternoon of Thursday, January 2.

Police seized quantities of suspected cocaine, crack cocaine, and fentanyl. The estimated street value of the seized drugs exceeds $120,000. Officers also seized a firearm, cash totalling more than $13,000 and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Michelle BENOIT, 39, of Thunder Bay; Delmar FLETCHER, 19, of Scarborough; Trevor HOFFMANN, 21, of Scarborough, a 17-year-old from Bradford, and a 15-year-old from Toronto are charged with the following:

• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (cocaine)
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (fentanyl)
• Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000
• Careless Storage of a Firearm
• Possession of Loaded Prohibited Firearm
• Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
• Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

BENOIT is also charged with Breach of Judicial Release Order. The 15-year-old is also charged with Possession of Prohibited Firearm Contrary to Order x2, Breach of Judicial Release Order, Breach of Peace Bond, and Breach of Probation x2. The 17-year-old is also charged with Breach of Peace Bond x2.

The accused appeared in court on Friday.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Hwy 17 Drug Bust – Name Released

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person has been arrested and is facing several charges following a traffic stop on Highway 17, Baldwin Township.

On December 23, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed driving on Highway 17 with no rear lights on. The vehicle driver provided police with a false name and was arrested. Further investigation led to the driver being arrested for impaired operation.

A search of the vehicle and the driver resulted in police locating and seizing approximately 25g of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $7,500, approximately 1.5g of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $150, methamphetamine tablets and Canadian currency.

As a result, the driver, Lynda TROTTIER, 36-years-old from Webbwood, was charged with:

  • Personation with intent
  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – methamphetamine – two counts
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – other drugs
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada
  • Drive without proper rear light – motor vehicle
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Fail to comply with probation order

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on February 3, 2025.

$19,000 Drug Bust – Names Released

(LEAMINGTON, ON) – Police have charged two individuals following the execution of a warrant in Leamington.

On December 10, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Essex County Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), West Region OPP Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT) Unit, OPP K9 Unit and Leamington OPP uniform members, executed a search warrant at an address on Seacliff Drive West in the Municipality of Leamington.

During the search, officers seized a quantity of illicit drugs suspected to be Fentanyl and Psilocybin, stolen property, a firearm and ammunition. Total value of items seized is $19,300.

As a result of the investigation, Salah HALABI, 30-years-of-age of Leamington was arrested and charged. The accused is also facing charges related to a stolen motor vehicle in Leamington reported on November 17, 2024.

The charges are:

·        Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition (Two Counts)

·        Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm

·        Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order (Two Counts)

·        Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

·        Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

·        Possession of a credit card

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (Four Counts)

·        Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (Three Counts)

·        Failure to comply with undertaking (Three Counts)

·        Operation while prohibited.

The accused has been held pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

And also, Jessica BOWDEN, 26 years-of-age of Leamington was arrested and charged with:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking-Opioid (other than heroin)

·        Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada (Three Counts)

Drug Bust – Names Released

(DRYDEN, ON) – Two local residents are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with assistance from the Northwest Region Emergency Response Team, Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, and Treaty Three Police Service.  

On October 8, 2024, just after 7:00 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted on Highway 502, Unorganized Territory, District of Kenora. The investigation resulted in the arrest of two Dryden residents and the seizure of suspected illicit drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine as well as further evidence of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, Richard SANDERSON, 58-years-old, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine 

·        Failure to comply with release order

Additionally, Elisha THOMPSON, 35-years-old, has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code with the following offences:

·        Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine

·        Obstruct peace officer

The accused individuals have been held remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 11, 2024.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Officers from the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged three individuals for drug trafficking, thanks to an investigation conducted by Frontline Patrol Officers of the Fort Frances OPP.

On Tuesday, September 24th, 2024, at approximately 4:00 pm, officers were dispatched to a local hotel, they began an investigation into three individuals located there.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of.

 Ronald DESCHENES, 48 years old, from Thunder Bay Ontario, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Failure to comply with release order (x2)

Micaela GRAVELLE, 27 years old, from Thunder Bay Ontario, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  •  Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking,

Matthew REIMER, 34 years old, from Thunder Bay Ontario, has been arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking

Two of the accused were remanded into custody and will next appear in front of the Ontario Court of Justice Fort Frances, on September 27th, 2024, the third was released with a court date scheduled for November 4th 2024, in the Ontario Court of Justice Fort Frances.

Drug Bust – 4 Arrested

(RENFREW, ON) – Search warrants in Arnprior have resulted in charges against four people.

Members of the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and East Region Community Street Crime Unit and uniform members executed two warrants, on Caruso Street and Albert Street, on September 17, 2024.

Four people were arrested without incident and transported to the Renfrew Detachment. A subsequent search of the residences revealed approximately 35 grams of cocaine, one gram of heroin, four cell phones, one tablet, one replica handgun, digital scales and $200 in cash.

Samantha MACIVER, age 41 of Arnprior, has been charged with trafficking a Schedule I substance- Cocaine. This accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 6, 2024.

Jessica WILSON, age 34 of Arnprior, is charged with:

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine

·      Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin

·      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

This accused was released and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 6, 2024

Jason LEFEBVRE, age 40 of Arnprior, is charged with:

Drug Bust – Names Released

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made an arrest of a wanted individual and laid charges in relation to drugs.

On Saturday, September 14th  at approximately 12:30p.m. Officers were conducting a RIDE program on King’s Wharf .

A vehicle entered the RIDE program and was conducted to pull off to the shoulder for further investigation.

Officers recognized the male passenger, who was wanted on several warrants.

After further investigation, Officers entered a drug trafficking investigation where the following suspected drugs were seized

  • 9 tablets of Clonazeram,
  • 3.5g of Fentanyl,
  • 30.8 g of Cocaine,
  • 2.4 g of Crack cocaine ,
  • 7 tablets Oxycodone,
  • 9 tablets Clonazepam,
  • 5 tablets of Fentanyl

Along with other Opioid substance and $3425.00 CAD cash.

As a result, the driver, 42-year-old Aliza Hotchkins from City of Kawartha Lakes was arrested and charged with

–      Possession of schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking- opioid

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

–      Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available

–      Fail to surrender insurance card

They were released from custody with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.

The male passenger, 43-year-old, Adam Hughes from City of Kawartha Lakes was arrested and charged for  

–      Possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking- opioid

–      Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

The accused was transported by Officers and held for bailed.

5 Arrested In Drug Bust

(LOYALIST TOWNSHIP, ON) – Five people face charges after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized drugs from a residence in Loyalist Township.

On September 12, 2024, the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), assisted by members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County detachment, executed a search warrant at an address on Main Street in Odessa.

A quantity of suspected cocaine was seized, along with paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking, and multiple cell phones.

A quantity of suspected fentanyl was later found concealed on one of the accused after being transported to detachment.

Joshua GJELSTAD, age 35, of Napanee, Amanda HOLLAND, age 44, of Odessa, James MCMAHON, age 63, of Napanee, Shayna HIDDLESTON, age 40, of Centre Hastings and Corean EATMON, age 53, of Tyendinaga First Nation were arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine.

GJELSTAD was additionally charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Fail to comply with probation order

HOLLAND was additionally charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin) – two counts.

These two accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The remaining three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.

Drug Bust – Krista LONG & Nichole CHAMBERS

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been arrested and charged with multiple offences after a search warrant in the Town of Tillsonburg.

On August 1st, 2024, members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford, Brant, Elgin and Middlesex Community Street Crime Units and West Region Emergency Response Team executed residential search warrants on Alba Street, in the Town of Tillsonburg.

Two individuals were arrested and taken into custody.

Krista LONG a 37-year-old resident of Tillsonburg was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (four counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Failure to Comply with Release Order

Nichole CHAMBERS a 32-year-old resident of Tillsonburg was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
  • Possession of a Schedule III Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm

As a further result of the investigation, suspected fentanyl, psilocybin, cocaine, methamphetamine, clonazepam and a handgun were seized. The approximate street value of the seized controlled substances is over $68000.

The accused individuals are being held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Woodstock.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(HAVELOCK-BELMONT-METHUEN TWP., ON) – Peterborough County / Northumberland OPP Community Street Crime Unit Officers executed a Search Warrant which resulted in three people being arrested and drug related charges being laid.

On July 31, 2024, officers from the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from the Northumberland OPP CSCU and the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), executed a search warrant at a location within Havelock. One person was arrested resulting from a traffic stop. Two individuals located at the residence were also arrested.

Branden LANE (age 34) of Havelock, ON, was arrested and charged with:

·      Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code

2 Arrested In Drug Bust – Names Released

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON) – Two individuals have been arrested after search warrants in the Town of Ingersoll.

On July 24th, members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Oxford, Brant, Elgin and Middlesex Community Street Crime Units and West Region Emergency Response Team executed residential search warrants on Thames Street North, in the Town of Ingersoll.

Two individuals were arrested and taken into custody.

Walter SWEET a 57-year-old resident of Ingersoll and Crystal PHILLIPS a 33-year-old resident of Ingersoll were charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (three counts)
  • Possession of a Prohibited device or Ammunition

As a further result of the investigation, suspected fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine was seized. The approximate street value of the seized controlled substances is over $15000.

The accused individuals have been remanded into custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, located in Woodstock, on a later date.

Drug Bust – Names Released

(WEST NIPISSING, ON) – Police arrested and charged two people with drug related offences after a traffic stop.

On July 23, 2024, shortly after 2:30 a.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed the passenger of a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt and conducted a traffic stop on Front Street, West Nipissing.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for being a suspended driver and the passenger was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

A search located Canadian currency and drugs suspected to be methamphetamine, cocaine and other drugs.

Onofrio DI PISA, 55 years-of-age, from West Nipissing, was charged with:

  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000

  • Driving under licence of other jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis in open baggage

Nicole REES, 40 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with Probation Order
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – three counts
  • Passenger – fail to properly wear seat belt

Both accused were held for Bail Court and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on July 24, 2024, in North Bay.
