Karamjot Singh Was Arrested

(CALEDON, ON) – Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid numerous charges upon a suspended driver in Caledon.

On July 24, 2025, just before 7:30 p.m., officers were on general patrol in the area of Airport Road and King Street, in the Town of Caledon. The in-cruiser Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system issued an alert regarding a suspended driver. A traffic stop was conducted upon the vehicle and an investigation began.

Following the investigation, Karamjot Singh, 29, of Cambridge, was charged with:

  • Obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 28, 2025 to answer to these charges. Additionally, the driver’s vehicle was impounded for a period of seven days.

Eric MEAROW Facing Numerous Charges

(BATCHAWANA BAY, ON) – An individual is facing numerous charges after failing to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle collision. 

On July 14, 2025, at approximately 3:29 p.m., officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police were notified of a single vehicle collision on Highway 563 in Batchawana Bay. Witnesses reported observing a motorcycle lose control, collide with a ditch and the driver fleeing the scene. Further investigation revealed the identity of the motorcycle driver.

On July 15, 2025, Eric MEAROW, 40 years-of-age, of Batchawana Bay was arrested and charged with:

  • Dangerous operation
  • Careless driving
  • Drive left of centre on a curve
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report accident
  • Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Drive motor vehicle, no plates
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
  • Operate motor vehicle without insurance
  • Fail to comply with probation order – two counts

The accused remains in custody, pending a bail hearing.

63 Year Old From ACW Arrested

(WELLINGTON NORTH TWP, ON) – The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charges Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with four provincial offences stemming from a traffic stop.

On July 7, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., members of the Wellington County OPP were performing a proactive traffic enforcement initiative, which resulted in a traffic stop being initiated on Concession Road 11, within Wellington North Township.

As a result of the investigation, a 63-year-old from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township is charged under the Highway Traffic Act and the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act with:

  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle

Amanda COOK Was Arrested – Details Released

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – One individual has ben charged with impaired driving following a traffic complaint in the Town of Paris.

On June 26, 2025, at 12:09 p.m., members of Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on William St in the Town of Paris.

As a result of the investigation, Amanda COOK, 37-year-old of Brant County, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with the following offences:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Dangerous Operation
  • Drive while under suspension

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in the City of Brantford on July 10, 2025.

Shawn TURCOTTE – Drive While Suspended

(THESSALON, ON)- OPP charge known suspended driver.

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol on Lakeside Drive in the Town of Thessalon when they observed a driver known to them as being a suspended and disqualified driver.

A traffic stop was conducted on Dawson Street with the driver being arrested and transported to Thessalon. The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.

Shawn TURCOTTE, 40 years-old who resides in the community of Thessalon First Nation was charged with:

  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (five counts)
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on September 4, 2025.

Derek LAWLESS Was Arrested

(KINGSTON, ON) – A RIDE program at a Highway 401 offramp in Kingston has resulted in an impaired driving arrest.

On Friday, June 6, 2025, shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at the Highway-38 exit of the eastbound 401.

Officers stopped a pick-up truck, and it was noted that a child in the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt. Officers utilized an approved roadside alcohol screening device, and the driver was arrested and transported for the detachment for further testing.

Derek LAWLESS, age 37 of Kingston, has been charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Driving while a passenger under 16 is not properly wearing a seatbelt
  • Fail to comply with an undertaking

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston on July 24, 2025.

The individual’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

31 Year Old From Brockville Arrested – Details Released

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – Lennox and Addington County Detachment members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person with impaired driving and multiple provincial offences following a vehicle stop on the 401 Highway.

On Thursday, May 15, 2025, at noon, L&A County OPP members observed a motorcycle stopped on the shoulder of the 401 Highway on-ramp at Deseronto Road. Police conducted an investigation.

Kristopher HALL, a 31-year-old from Brockville, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drug
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Use plate not authorized
  • Have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on June 3, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded.

Suspended Driver Arrested Following Collision

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – Driver facing multiple charges, including impaired by drug, after two-vehicle collision in Kilworth.

On April 22, 2025, at 2:57 p.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Middlesex-London Paramedic Service and Middlesex Centre Fire were dispatched to the intersection of Glendon Drive and Kilworth Park Drive in Kilworth, Municipality of Middlesex Centre, for the report of a two-vehicle collision.

The driver of one of the involved vehicles fled the scene on foot prior to police arrival.

Shortly after, police were dispatched to Baron Crescent, not far from the scene for a suspicious person call. The individual was located by officers and was placed under arrest.

Due to injuries sustained in the collision, the individual was transported to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle being operated by the accused was determined to have been stolen from an address in the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc.

As a result, Daniel BEAULIEU, a 35-year-old of Strathroy, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·      Operation while impaired – drugs

·      Dangerous operation

·      Failure to stop after accident

·      Unlawfully in Dwelling House

·      Poss of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada

·      Theft Under $5,000 of a Motor Vehicle

·      Driving while under suspension

The accused was held for bail.

Yaroslav VERBITSKI Facing Numerous Charges #RepeatOffender

(BLIND RIVER, ON) – Prohibited driver stopped for speeding through Blind River charged with multiple offences.

On April 21, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting general patrol duties on Causley Street (Highway 17) in Blind River. A westbound grey car was stopped for speeding and the driver was spoken to. Police also learned the driver had a warrant out for his arrest, was a prohibited driver, had numerous license suspensions, and cannabis readily available. They were subsequently arrested, and the vehicle was towed and impounded.    

Yaroslav VERBITSKI, 36-years-old, of Mississauga was charged with:

  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed
  • Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code – two counts
  • Driving while under suspension (two counts)
  • Driving under licence of other jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario
  • Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
  • Operate unsafe vehicle
  • Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle
  • Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available – two counts

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on June 5, 2025.

HOPPER Was Arrested

(PEMBROKE, ON) – A wanted individual is now in custody after being arrested in the City of Pembroke.

 On the afternoon of April 3, 2025, members of the East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located the individual at a residence on Esther Street and, with the assistance of patrol officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the OPP, an arrest was made. The accused was wanted in relation to several criminal investigations this year including failing to stop for police in January, theft from a grocery store in February and thefts from a retail and convenience store in March. 

 Ian HOPPER, age 49 of Petawawa, is charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) offences:

  • Driving while under suspension
  • Flight from police officer
  • Dangerous operation
  • Theft under $5000 – three counts
  • Fail to comply with probation order – seven counts

The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 8, 2025.

Douglas Jensen – Drive While Suspended

(CHATSWORTH ON) – One individual is facing charges after they crashed the vehicle that they were driving.

On April 4, 2025, at 8:20 a.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10 just North of 60 Sideroad in Chatsworth Township. 

Investigation revealed that the driver was not licenced to operate a motor vehicle.

Douglas Jensen, 46-year-old of Central Manitoulin was charged with:

·      Driving while under suspension (two counts)

·      Careless driving

·      Use plate not authorized for vehicle

·      Operate a motor vehicle without insurance

·      Failure to comply with release order – other than to attend court (two counts)

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound.

There were no injuries reported.

Troy KILPATRICK Was Arrested – Details Released

(MIDLAND, ON) – An officer from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) operating a cruiser equipped with a Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) was led into an number of driving related investigations of a vehicle and it’s driver, south bound on Simcoe County Road 93, Midland at approximately 3:58 p.m. April 2, 2025.

The officer eventually safely stopped the suspect vehicle in a private parking lot off Highway 12, Midland and entered into an investigation of the drivers licence status.

As a result, 60 year old Troy KILPATRICK of Midland was charged criminally with the following offences.

  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code

And Further With The Provincial Offences Of

  • Driving while under suspension (three counts)
  • Drive motor vehicle, no permit

The accused was released from custody to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice  on the May 15, 2025. The involved vehicle was towed and subject to a 45 day vehicle impound in accordance to the Ministry of Transportation (ADLS) guidelines.

Harvey SMITH – Impaired Driving While Suspended

(DRYDEN, ON) – Members of the Dryden Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.  

On March 26, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m. members of the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 594, in Eagle River.

As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden detachment OPP Detachment for further testing.

Harvey SMITH, 23-years-old, of Eagle River, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

·         Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

·         Driving while under suspension – while suspended under HTA Sec 41/42

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on May 5, 2025.

Leslie PETZOLDT Was Arrested

(SOUTH ALGONQUIN TWP, ON) – A driver is facing several charges after a recent single-vehicle collision in South Algonquin Township. 

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the collision on March 22, 2025, at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Highway 60.  

Investigation found that a westbound vehicle attempted to avoid wildlife, lost control and struck a guard rail. The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was not injured. Officers found that the vehicle had been recently purchased, and stolen licence plates were attached to it. The driver was arrested, and police seized the stolen plates.

As a result of this incident 51-year-old Leslie PETZOLDT of Shelburne, Ontario has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC), Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) offences:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Use plate not authorized for vehicle
  • Fail to apply for permit on becoming owner
  • Operate vehicle without insurance

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 14, 2025.

$370 Fentanyl Bust

(ESPANOLA, ON) – One person is facing impaired-related charges after police received a traffic complaint.

On March 20, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint reporting that a vehicle on Highway 17 was unable to maintain their lane while driving. Police located the vehicle on Highway 17 in the Nairn-Hyman Township and conducted a traffic stop. Further investigation resulted in the driver being arrested.

Additionally, police seized an amount of suspected fentanyl with an estimated street value of $370.

The driver, Meggan MCINTYRE, 40-years-old from Lively, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance – opioid
  • Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on May 5, 2025.
