Avoid Hanover – Anonymous Catch & Release Program Endangers Public

On Friday, April 5th, 2024, members of the Hanover Police attended a business in the 1000 block of 10th Street regarding a theft. On arrival police spoke with the 18-year-old female suspect. The female was arrested, and several items of stolen property was located on her person. Hanover Police have charged the female under the Criminal Code with Theft. She was released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Hanover Police Catch & Release Criminals – Names Withheld By Police #AvoidHanover #WTF

On Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, Hanover Police received a residential break and enter report from the 200 block of 11th Avenue. Using video surveillance police identified a 46-year-old male and 24-year-old female as the culprits. Both were later arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Break and Enter. Both were released with upcoming court dates in Walkerton.

Police Catch & Release Woman Threatening To Harm People: Name Withheld To Endanger Community

On Sunday, April 7th, 2024, members of the Hanover Police received a report of threatening. Through investigation, police formed grounds to believe that an 18-year-old female of no fixed address had threatened to harm several people. On April 8th, 2024, the female was located and arrested by Hanover Police. She has been charged under the Criminal Code with several counts of Uttering Threats. She was later released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Anonymous Violent Criminal Punches Officer In Face Then Released In Hanover #NameNames #CowardCops

On April 16th, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m. the Hanover Police Service responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver on 10th Street in the Town of Hanover.  Officers on patrol located the vehicle in a drive thru of a restaurant and initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, a 24-year-old Hanover man refused to provide a sample of his breath for analysis, resisted arrest and struck an officer in the face while attempting to flee the scene on foot.  The suspect was apprehended after a brief foot chase.

Officers seized a small quantity of methamphetamine along with open alcohol from the vehicle.  Further investigation determined the suspect was prohibited from driving under the Criminal Code for a previous impaired driving conviction in 2022 and suspended from driving under the Highway Traffic Act.

The suspect was lodged in police cells and later released when he sobered, facing the following charges.

  1. Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine
  2. Fail or Refusal to Comply with Demand
  3. Resist Peace Officer
  4. Operation while Prohibited x 2
  5. Obstruct Peace Officer
  6. Assault with Intent to Resist Arrest
  7. Fail to Surrender Insurance Card
  8. Drive Motor Vehicle, Fail to Display Two Plates
  9. Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle – Open Liquor
  10. Driving While Under Suspension

Repeat Offender Caught Then Released In Hanover

During the early morning hours of Friday, March 22nd, 2024, Hanover Police while investigating a separate matter observed a known 52-year-old Hanover man in the passenger seat of a vehicle.

The man was found to be violating the terms of a previous release order which listed a curfew condition. The man was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Failure to Comply. He was released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Hanover Police Protecting Criminals Instead Of Community #NewPandemic

On Sunday, March 31st, 2024, Hanover Police responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of 7th Avenue.

On arrival police spoke with a 37-year-old female and 39-year-old male. Investigation revealed both were on court ordered conditions not to communicate regarding previous criminal offences.

Hanover Police arrested both charging them under the Criminal Code with breaching those conditions. They were later released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

On arrival police observed a 36-year-old Hanover man attempting to leave the area The man was taken into custody without incident. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with Break and Enter. He was released from custody with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.

Wanted Person Captured & Released Again #WTF

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a report of drug use in Trenton.

On April 1, 2024 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP received a report of drug use on King Street, Trenton. Officers located the individual, who provided a false name. Upon identification, it was determined that the male was wanted by Coburg Police. As a result of the subsequent arrest and search, suspected crystal methamphetamine and morphine were seized.

Joseph, VELEKE, 33 years old of Quinte West has been charged with:

  • Obstruct Peace Officer
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 19, 2024. The male was then transported to the Coburg Police Service for the execution of the warrant.

34 Year Old Arrested Twice In One Night #Catch&Release

(WAWA, ON) – A local resident is facing criminal charges after being arrested by police twice in one night. On March 7, 2024, shortly before 1:00 a.m., the Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of mischief on Third Avenue in Wawa. 

As a result of the investigation, Marlee PANCO, 34 years-of-age, of Wawa was arrested and charged with:

  • Mischief Under $5,000

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8, 2024 in Wawa.

While in police custody, the accused showed signs of being impaired by alcohol. Upon release, the accused was provided a courtesy ride home and warned by police not to drive a vehicle, due to suspected impairment.

Shortly after 2:00 a.m., while conducting general patrol in Wawa, Superior East OPP observed the accused driving a vehicle on Mackey Street. 

Investigation confirmed the driver had consumed alcoholic beverages. As a result, the accused was arrested and charged with:

  • Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 8, 2024 in Wawa. They were also issued a 90-day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
