Nancy JAGT – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual was charged following an investigation into a dispute in Waterford.

At approximately 11:01 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to and investigated a dispute on Cockshutt Road in Waterford, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals were involved in a dispute on the premises, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted. No injuries were reported.

As a result, one individual was taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offence is 65-year-old Nancy JAGT of Brantford, Ontario:

  • Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

Dale RAPP Arrested For Assault

(WALKERTON, ON) – The South Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a disturbance on Old Durham Road in Walkerton this past weekend.

On August 25, 2024, at 6:55 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received a report of a disturbance in Walkerton. The investigation determined that two individuals were in a verbal dispute that escalated to an assault.

Dale RAPP, 37-years-old, resident of Walkerton has been charged with Assault. 

This is an isolated incident, there is no threat to public safety.

David DIETZ Was Arrested

(BURWASH TOWNSHIPON) – Police arrested and charged one person after a report of a traffic hazard.

On August 24, 2024, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a traffic hazard on Highway 69, Burwash Township, south of Sudbury.

An individual was walking on the highway and began throwing construction pylons towards vehicles as they passed, police located and arrested the individual.

As a result of the investigation, David DIETZ, 61 years-of-age, from Sudbury, was charged with:

  • Causing a disturbance
  • Mischief endangering life
  • Mischief under $ 5,000
  • Assault a Peace Officer

The accused was held for Bail Court and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 26, 2024, in Sudbury.

Oleg KACHMAR Was Arrested

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Windsor resident with several criminal offences following a traffic stop in the Municipality of South Huron on August 11, 2024. 

Just before 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 11, Huron County OPP were patrolling on Bluewater Highway in South Huron when they observed a motor vehicle being driven erratically on Bluewater Highway. Police conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the driver. The officer discovered the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and subsequently arrested them for impaired operation. The accused was transported to the Lambton OPP detachment in Grand Bend at which time the accused assaulted a police officer during processing. The accused further refused to provide the required breath samples and was additionally charged for refusal.

Oleg KACHMAR, 37 years-of-age from Windsor has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs,

–      Assault Peace Officer,

–      Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA). 

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The accused’ driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for September 16 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Skyler AINSWORTH – Assault X2

(TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual following a report of an assault.

On August 16, 2024, police received a complaint regarding an altercation that took place the previous evening on King Street East in the Township of Cramahe. Injuries to the victim were described as minor.

On August 24, 2024, officers arrested an individual as a result of the investigation.

Skyler AINSWORTH, 37-years-old, from the Municipality of Brighton, has been charged with:

  • Assault – two counts.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Jonathan RALLISON Arrested Twice In One Afternoon

(BANCROFT, ON) – Members of the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a local man following a trespassing call that escalated into multiple criminal charges.

On August 22, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle trespassing on private property. The vehicle was reported to have driven onto the property, and when the owner went to investigate, the vehicle was driven towards the owner before driving away.

Police located the vehicle a short time later and initiated a traffic stop. During the investigation, the officer made an Approved Screening Device (ASD) demand, which the driver refused. As a result, the driver was arrested for Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.

The driver, identified as 30-year-old Jonathan RALLISON of Bancroft, was released from custody concerning this charge. However, while awaiting the arrival of a tow truck, RALLISON was arrested again, this time for assaulting a peace officer.

The accused has been held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 26, 2024, to address the criminal charges.

Marcus JOHNSON – Assault

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation into a harassment incident in Waterford.

At approximately 7:08 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment responded to a harassment incident on the Waterford Heritage Trail near the Waterford Ponds on Concession 8 Townsend in Waterford, Norfolk County.

It was determined that a member of the public was walking along the trail when they were approached and verbally harassed by an unknown individual. After this encounter, the victim continued along the trail but was then physically assaulted by the suspect. The suspect subsequently left the area in a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The victim reported no injuries.

Around 8:46 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, the suspect was located at an address on Old Highway 24 in Waterford, Norfolk County, and was taken into custody.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 53-year-old Marcus JOHNSON of Brantford, Ontario:

  • Criminal harassment,
  • Assault,
  • Resist Peace Officer.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

The OPP would like to remind all trail users in Norfolk County to stay vigilant at all times while using the trail systems. The safety of all trail users is a top priority. Taking extra precautions, such as using the trails in pairs or groups, planning your route and informing a family member or friend, and carrying a cell phone, is strongly recommended. Randolph TAYLOR Assault With Weapon

(VERONA, ON) On August 8, 2024, at approximately 9:30 pm, members of the Frontenac Detachment (OPP) investigated an incident involving a property dispute on Levesque Road, in South Frontenac Township. A person had gone to the property to check on their possessions, when a male drove past the location. An argument ensued and the male demanded the person leave, and not come back. The male, while still in the vehicle, pointed a firearm at the person and threatened to harm them if they returned. No injuries were sustained.

A search warrant was completed with the assistance of the Frontenac Crime Unit (OPP), and The Tactics and Rescue Unit (OPP) for a residence in the Bellrock area. The firearm was located and seized as a result of the warrant for the residence.

Randolph TAYLOR, age 62, of South Frontenac Township was charged with:

–      Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Serious Bodily Harm (2 counts).

–      Pointing a Firearm.

–      Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

–      Assault.

–      Assault with a Weapon.

As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested and held for a bail hearing in the City of Kingston at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 10,2024.

Assault In Listowel

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating an assault that took place in downtown Listowel during the early morning hours of August 10th, 2024. 

Perth County OPP officers responded to a report of an assault that reportedly took place between 03:15 a.m. and 03:30 a.m. on August 10th at the intersection of Main Street West and Mitchell Road South in Listowel.

One person was seriously injured and was transported to the local hospital. Police are seeking any witnesses and/or dash-cam video footage of the incident. Case REIMER – Assault, Theft

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – A shoplifter was taken into custody following an unrelated investigation into an assault in Simcoe.

At approximately 3:32 p.m. on Monday, August 5, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a reported assault that occurred near Wellington Park in Simcoe, Norfolk County.

It was determined that two individuals were involved in a dispute on the premises, resulting in the victim being physically assaulted. The victim reported moderate injuries.

During the investigation, officers discovered that the suspect involved in the assault matched the description of an individual who was reported to have stolen a quantity of alcohol from a business on Queensway East, in Simcoe, Norfolk County, around 3:06 p.m. on the same day.

Officers subsequently located the suspect on Norfolk Street North in Simcoe, Norfolk County, and confirmed that this individual was involved in both incidents.

The individual was then taken into custody without incident.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 18-year-old Case REIMER of Norfolk County:

  • Assault causing bodily harm,
  • Theft under $5,000 – shoplifting.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, and again on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

Sabrina WILSON – Assault, Threats

(MUNICIPALITY OF TRENT HILLS, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual for assault peace officer, after refusing to leave a commercial premises.

On August 8, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., police responded to a complaint regarding an unwanted person at an address on Grand Road in Campbellford. Staff reported a disturbance involving an assault and the person making threatening remarks.

Police arrived at the location and the person refused to leave when directed. The accused then attempted to throw an item at police and proceed to spit at an officer during arrest. There were no injuries reported.

Sabrina WILSON, 23-years-old, from Ottawa, has been charged with:

–      Assault peace officer

–      Assault

–      Uttering threats

–      Fail to leave premises when directed.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

Kevin DALLAIRE: Assault & Drunk Driving

(LONGLAC, ON) – Members of the Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment have arrested and charged one individual with impaired operation.

On August 3rd, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m., members of the Greenstone OPP Detachment responded to a call for service of a possible impaired driver on Chipman Lake Road.

Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Greenstone OPP Detachment for further testing.

As a result, Kevin DALLAIRE, 41-years-old, of Longlac ON, has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with:

• Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Mischief Under $5,000

• Assault

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Longlac on September 18th, 2024.

Shawn LEBLANC – Assault

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual following a report of a disturbance in Brighton.

On July 31, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., OPP and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a disturbance between individuals at a residential address in Brighton.

The dispute arose over the possession of property which escalated into an incident of assault. A witness was able to intervene and assist the victim in leaving the property. The victim was treated for minor injuries by EMS at a nearby address but declined to attend hospital. The accused had left the location prior to police arrival.

On August 1, 2024, police arrested an individual as a result of the investigation.

Shawn LEBLANC, 47-years-old, from Brighton, has been charged with:

–      Assault

–      Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
