Cynthia Boyer – Assault

(MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION)- Tempers flare over social media posts. 

On November 30, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Mississauga First Nation Police Service responded to an assault that occurred in a driveway on Village Road in the community of Mississauga First Nation.

The investigation revealed that the victim had posted information on social media, which led to another individual taking offense. The personal attacks escalated, eventually resulting in the accused arriving at the victim’s residence, where a physical altercation occurred in the driveway.

As a result, Cynthia Boyer, 56-years-of-age from Mississauga First Nation, was charged with: Assault.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on January 2, 2025.

Ryan POCKNELL Arrested For Assault

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested an individual following a report of an assault.

On July 15, 2024, police received a complaint regarding an assault that took place the previous evening at a location on Alice Street. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) also attended at the same time as officers and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested an individual on November 21, 2024. 

Ryan POCKNELL, 38-years-old, from Trenton, has been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg.

Cheyanne KOCIELSKI – Theft & Assault

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On Tuesday, October 15, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment responded to a theft report from a Beverly Street West business in the County of Brant.

Employees contacted police and provided information on a theft suspect who removed a quantity of merchandise without paying.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, as a result of the investigation, police have charged Cheyanne KOCIELSKI, 36 years-old from the City of Brantford with the following offences:

·      Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

·      Resist Peace Officer

·      Assault a Peace Officer

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford on December 19, 2024.

Cole EVES – Forcible Confinement, Assault, Etc.

(GREATER NAPANEE, ON) – An 18-year old male from Greater Napanee faces numerous charges after an incident involving multiple threats.

Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were approached by two female youths on Saturday, November 9, 2024, shortly after 10:00 p.m., reporting that they had been threatened at knifepoint at a local quarry earlier in the evening.

Officers conducted an investigation and learned that the two youths fled the quarry but were followed to a secondary location where they were again threatened at knifepoint and not allowed to leave. Both youths eventually managed to safely leave the location and report the incident to police.

As a result of the investigation, Cole EVES, 18-years old of Greater Napanee has been charged with:

-Forcible confinement – two counts

-Assault with a weapon – two counts

-Uttering threats to damage property – two counts

-Wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence

-Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on January 14, 2025.

12 Year Old Facing Multiple Assault Charges

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton County, has charged a young person following a disturbance at a school in Forest.

On October 31, 2024, at 1:20 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address on MacDonald Street in Forest, Lambton Shores, for the report of a disturbance.

As a result of the investigation, a 12-year-old of Lambton County, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

·      Assault (four counts)

·      Assault Cause Bodily Harm – Choke, suffocate or strangle

·      Mischief – destroys or damages property

There were no serious injuries reported.

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a future date to speak to the charges.

The youth’s identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

Jennifer KOEBEL – Assault

(MUNICIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) – The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual following a report of a disturbance in Brighton.

On October 29, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a dispute at a residence on Elizabeth Street. Officers arrived at the location where a window was smashed and a resident had been assaulted. No injuries were reported, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were not required.

The accused had left the area and later returned where they were met by officers.

Jennifer KOEBEL, 29-years-old, from Brighton, has been charged with:

–       Assault

–       Mischief under $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.

John CARLEY – Indecent Assault

(MONTAGUE TWP, ON) – The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an historical sexual assault case.

Two people contacted the OPP in September 2024 to report that they had been sexually assaulted at locations in Smiths Falls and Montague Township over a period of five years, beginning in the 1980s.

As a result of the investigation, John CARLEY, age 94 of the village of Elgin in Rideau Lakes Township, has been charged with two counts of indecent assault.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 18, 2024.

Alexander FLEWELLING – Violent Robbery, Assault & Threats

(MUNSEE-DELAWARE FIRST NATION, ON) – Individual facing charges after incident in Munsee-Delaware First Nation.

On October 23, 2024, at approximately 4:53 p.m., members of the Munsee-Delaware First Nation Police and Chippewas of the Thames Police were dispatched to an address on Thomigo Road in Munsee-Delaware First Nation for the report of a disturbance.

Investigation revealed the accused assaulted a known individual, then proceeded to steal the victims keys.

The accused fled the area prior to police arrival.  

Police located the accused at which time they were taken into custody.

As a result, Alexander FLEWELLING, a 23-year-old of Munsee-Delaware First Nation, has been charged under the criminal code with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm-Spousal
  • Assault

The accused was held for bail.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Douglas STUTT – Assault, Threats, Etc.

(LAMBTON SHORES, ON) – The Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one individual following a disturbance.

On October 28, 2024, shortly after 9:00 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a disturbance at an address on Arkona Road, Municipality of Lambton Shores.

There were no reported injuries related to the incident.

As a result of the investigation, Douglas STUTT, 62-year-old of Lambton Shores was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault
  • Dangerous operation
  • Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 12, 2024, in the City of Sarnia.

Andre CORMIER – Assault, Etc.

(MONTAGUE TWP, ON) – A Smiths Falls resident faces numerous charges after an apparent case of road rage.

Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, shortly before 1:30 p.m.

A vehicle had been reported to be travelling near Smiths Falls at high speeds in a dangerous manner, which led to an alleged road rage incident. This involved an assault outside a home in Montague Township. No serious injuries were reported, and the individual involved had left the scene.

The suspect’s vehicle was located a short time later in a ditch along Highway-43. A male was arrested after initially fleeing on foot from officers. Damage was later done to a holding cell at the Lanark Detachment.

As a result of the investigation, Andre CORMIER, age 35, has been charged with:

  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Overcome resistance by attempting to choke, suffocate or strangle
  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily
  • Resisting a peace officer
  • Dangerous operation of a vehicle
  • Driving with no licence
  • Driving without two licence plates
  • Licence plate improperly displayed
  • Stunt driving
  • Having improper tires
  • Mischief

The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 23, 2024.

Patrick PRESTO – Assault

(RENFREW, ON) – The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged one person and are seeking an arrest warrant for a second person.

On October 18, 2024, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Renfrew OPP was dispatched to assist County of Renfrew Paramedics at a business on Argyle Street South, in the Town of Renfrew.

One injured person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Patrick PRESTO, age 47 of Whitewater Region Township, was charged with:

·      Assault causing bodily harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to attend The Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on December 11, 2024.

Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a second person.

Gabriel PICCOLO – Assault

(LAKESHORE, ON) – An individual has been charged in connection with an assault investigation.

On Saturday, October 12, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Lakeshore Detachment received a report of an assault that occurred in the 400 block of Notre Dame Street, in the community of Belle River, Municipality of Lakeshore.

Investigation determined that on October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:00 a.m., an altercation occurred between individuals and one male was physically assaulted. The victim sustained injuries that required treatment at a local hospital.

As a result of the investigation, on October 20, 2024, Gabriel PICCOLO, 21-year-old male of Windsor was arrested and charged with:

·        Assault Causing Bodily Harm

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on November 28, 2024.

Matthew GUARINO – Assault & Traps

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – An individual has been charged following an investigation at a Paris address in the County of Brant.

At approximately 1:06 p.m., on Sunday, September 29, 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment responded to a mischief incident on Hartley Avenue in the County of Brant.

It was determined that an individual had an interaction with two other people when a weapon was displayed. Further investigation revealed that the same individual constructed a device nearby at which time police were contacted.

Charged with the following alleged offences is 40-year-old Matthew GUARINO of Brant County:

  •     Assault with A Weapon
  •     Traps Likely to Cause Bodily Harm

 The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford on Thursday November 28, 2024.

Cameron Henry – Assault, Threats

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged a male after he threatened staff members at a local downtown business.

On October 4, 2024, shortly after 2:00 pm, a male entered into a downtown establishment on Mississaga St E. and threatened physical harm towards three staff members. The male would flee the business prior to police arrival. However, after further investigation police were able to locate a male fitting the description and place him under arrest .

Cameron Henry, 27 year old, of Orillia has been charged with the following:

  • Adult Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm x 3
  • Adult Assault x 3

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing

Stephen LAWRENCE – Assault, Mischief

(ELLIOT LAKE, ON)- Accused arrested on outstanding warrants and while in custody more charges added.

On October 1, 2024, the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an assist call on Beckett Boulevard in the City of Elliot Lake.  At approximately 8:00 p.m., police attended the residence and were met by an individual who was requesting a ride to southern Ontario. 

Investigation determined the individual had outstanding warrants and was subsequently arrested. The accused was later transported to Blind River detachment and held for bail court. While in custody the accused took a blanket and shoved it down a toilet then urinated on the floor. The accused continually spat at staff, urinated on the floor and threw food all over the cell walls.

On October 2, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., East Algoma’s Special Constable attended the cell area and was spat on in the face.

As a result, Stephen LAWRENCE, 41 years of age from Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Mischief – destroys or damages property
  • Assault Peace Officer
  • Fail to attend court after having appeared
  • Fail to comply with Appearance Notice – court/fingerprints

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice-Bail Court in Blind River on October 2, 2024, and was remanded into custody.
