Area Victims Standing-Up For Themselves – Reports Of Abuse Soaring #YouAreNotAlone #ThereIsHelp&Hope

(GODERICH, ON) – On September 20th, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of an intimate partner dispute incident in the Town of Goderich.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had failed to comply with a release order in relation to a condition involving communication with their partner.

A 33-year-old individual from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts).

The accused was later arrested and held for a bail hearing in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(HURON EAST, ON) – On September 22nd, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of an intimate partner dispute incident in the Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had committed mischief by damaging property at their partner’s residence.

A 28-year-old individual from Huron East has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

–      Mischief – Domestic,

–      Fail to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was later arrested, processed, and released with a court date in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(HURON EAST, ON) – On September 23rd, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of a disturbance incident in the Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had committed criminal offences involving their partner.

A 25-year-old individual from North Perth has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts).

The accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(BLUEWATER, ON) – On September 26th, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of an intimate partner dispute incident in the Municipality of Bluewater.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had committed mischief by damaging property at a seasonal family residence.

A 49-year-old individual from Woodstock has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

–      Mischief – Domestic.

The accused was later arrested, processed, and released with a court date of November 6th at the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice.

(HURON EAST, ON) – On September 26th, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of a disturbance incident in the Municipality of Huron East.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had committed criminal offences involving their partner on various occasions in 2023.

A 38-year-old individual from Huron East has been charged under the Criminal Code with:

–      Sexual Assault,

–      Assault – Spousal,

–      Assault with a Weapon – Spousal,

–      Robbery with Intent,

–      Mischief Under $5,000,

–      Failure to Comply with Probation Order.

The accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice where they were remanded into custody.

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On September 28th, 2023, members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were contacted for a report of an intimate partner incident in the Municipality of Central Huron.

As a result of the investigation, OPP learned that the involved suspect had failed to comply with a release order in relation to a condition involving communication with their partner.

A 51-year-old individual from Stoney Creek has been charged under the Criminal Code with: Failure to Comply with Release Order (two counts).

The accused was later arrested and held for a bail hearing in the Goderich Ontario Court of Justice where they were remanded into custody.

Sexual Assault In Howick – MAIR Facing Numerous Charges

(HOWICK TOWNSHIP, ON) – At 7:23 p.m. on Sunday October 1st, 2023, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information from several complainants that an adult male had committed a number of assaults at a residential address in Howick Township. Huron OPP officers responded immediately and met with the victims in the incident.

The police investigation revealed that between approximately 6:50 p.m. and 7:23 p.m. on October 1st, 2023, the suspect had assaulted three victims. The suspect also committed mischief by damaging property.

On October 2nd, 2023, the accused was arrested and charged as follows:

Andrew MAIR, 45 years of age from Howick Township has been charged with:

  • Sexual Assault,
  • Assault with a Weapon (three counts),
  • Mischief (three counts).

The accused was later released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 4th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

GIBSON Arrested For Impaired Driving

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 20, 2023, just before 11:00 p.m., the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint in the area of Mcdonald Street West in the Municipality of North Perth. 

Upon speaking with a driver who entered the checkpoint, officers entered into an impaired driving investigation. 

Shandy-Lee GIBSON, 36, of Palmerston, was charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired- alcohol and drugs

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on November 20, 2023, to answer to the charge. A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per stature.

POPP Arrested For Drunk Driving

(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Central Huron resident with Impaired driving offences following an investigation on September 30th, 2023. 

On Saturday, September 30th at 8:45 a.m. Huron County OPP officers were conducting moving radar patrols on Bluewater Highway in the Municipality of Bluewater, a posted 80 km/hr speed zone when a southbound motor vehicle was stopped for speeding. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and a subsequent breath sample at the roadside was demanded by police.

The driver provided a breath sample which resulted in a failure. The driver was arrested for Impaired Operation and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Brendan POPP, 20 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The accused was additionally charged with the offence of speeding, found in the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 4th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

NOWOLECKA Arrested For Impaired Driving

(GODERICH, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Bluewater resident with Impaired driving offences following a complaint in Goderich on September 30th, 2023. 

Just after 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30th, Huron County OPP officers responded to an incident on Courthouse Square in the Town of Goderich. Police spoke to witnesses who advised police that an individual had been driving after drinking alcohol. The investigating officers located, and subsequently arrested the suspected driver for Impaired Operation.

The accused then provided further breath samples before a qualified Intoxilyzer Breath Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Claudia NOWOLECKA, 23 years of age from the Municipality of Bluewater has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 6th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Drunk Driver Arrested – CLEMENTS

(HURON EAST, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township resident with several criminal offences following a traffic complaint received by police from the public on September 29th, 2023. 

On Friday evening, September 29th at 8:45 p.m., Huron County OPP were contacted by a concerned citizen who reported a suspicious person walking on Kinburn Line near Huron Road in the Municipality of Huron East. Police arrived on scene minutes later and located the individual matching the complainant’s description.

Police spoke to the individual and determined that they had been consuming alcohol and had been driving a motor vehicle prior to police arrival. The individual was subsequently placed under arrest, taken into custody, and transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests before an OPP qualified breath technician. Further investigation revealed information that the accused had committed an assault and mischief to property.

Ashton CLEMENTS, 24 years of age from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs,

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80,

–      Assault,

–      Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused was additionally charged with an offence found in the Liquor Licence Control Act (LLCA).

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

 The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for November 6th at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Chatsworth Bust – MUNDLE & METCALFE Arrested

(CHATSWORTH, ON) – On October 16, 2023, the members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a stolen skid steer with a global positioning system (GPS) tracker on the skid steer was pinging at a location near Holland Centre in Chatsworth Township.

Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Grey Bruce Major Crime Unit (MCU), along with General Law Enforcement (GLE) officers attended the scene and executed a search warrant.

Police seized stolen property such as a skid steer, dump trailer, other various trailers and licence plates which totalled in excess of $147,000.

The OPP has charged Jeffrey MUNDLE, 50-years-old of Chatsworth Township with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 X3
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime under $5000 X2

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 23, 2023.

The OPP has charged Lorrie METCALFE, 67-years-old of Chatsworth Township with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000 X4
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a Vehicle Identification Number
  • Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X2

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 23, 2023.

Police Cruiser Struck By Stolen Vehicle – Two Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On October 25, 2023 at approximately 7:30 a.m. an officer with the Perth County OPP observed a pickup truck and trailer traveling on Perth Road 89. The pickup truck had been stolen earlier that morning from a residence in Harriston and the trailer had also been stolen from a business in North Perth. The Wellington County OPP and Perth County OPP attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop for police, but a tire deflation device was successfully deployed.

A Wellington County OPP officer was parked in a fully marked cruiser on Perth Road 92 to observe for the vehicle. The suspect vehicle struck the cruiser causing significant damage to both vehicles. The two occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested. The officer and the passenger of the vehicle were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

As a result of the investigation, Rebecca Lee RUELENS, 29 years old of Priceville has been charged with the following offences:

·        Dangerous Operation

·        Operation while Impaired

·        Assault Peace Officer

·        Flight from Peace Officer

·        Theft of Motor Vehicle – two counts

·        Possession of Break in Instruments

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – two counts

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

·        Possession of a Credit Card

Jonathan Jason BARGER, 28 years old of Owen Sound has been charged with the following offences:

·        Theft of Motor Vehicle – two counts

·        Possession of Break in Instruments

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – two counts

·        Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on December 8, 2023.

Paul REIDT Arrested For Drunk Driving

(HOWICK TWP, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a Howick Township resident with an Impaired Driving offence following a traffic stop in the late evening hours of Saturday September 23rd, 2023. 

Huron County OPP officers were conducting stationary observations at an intersection in Howick Township. A westbound motor vehicle was travelling on Gough Road and was stopped by police to ensure driver sobriety at 11:13 p.m. Police spoke to the driver and determined that they had been consuming alcohol prior to driving. A demand was made by police for a sample of the driver’s breath into the roadside screening device, which resulted in a failure. The driver was subsequently placed under arrest for Impaired Operation and taken into custody. The driver was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton for further breath tests with an OPP qualified breath technician.

Paul REIDT, 60 years of age from Howick Township has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Over 80.

The involved vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days, and the accused’ driver’s license was suspended for a period of 90 days.

The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for October 30th, 2023, at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

David HICKS Arrested For Drunk Driving

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY TWP, ON) – The Huron Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a North Perth resident with Impaired driving offences following a traffic stop on September 24th, 2023, on Amberley Road in the Township of Morris-Turnberry.

On September 24th, at approximately 7:30 p.m. Huron OPP received a complaint that a vehicle was travelling westbound on Amberley Road near Wingham and was failing to maintain their lane of travel. Officers attended the area and were able to locate the same vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. In speaking to the driver, the investigating officer determined that the driver had consumed alcohol prior to driving and was subsequently arrested for Impaired Operation.

The individual was transported to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton to provide breath tests before a qualified Intoxilyzer Technician. Suitable breath samples were provided to police which resulted in readings over the legal limit.

Attempted Murder – One Still At Large #LockYourDoors

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Members of the Perth County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have now charged a second suspect in connection with an ongoing investigation in Huron East and Central Huron. 

The Huron OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) continues to investigate an incident which happened on Wednesday October 18, 2023, when OPP officers interacted with two individuals.

Joshua BREAU, 35 years-of-age from Central Huron has now been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:

·      Attempt to Commit Murder – section 239(1)

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – section 355 (a)

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – section 355 (b) – two counts,

·      Failure to Comply with Release Order – section 145(5)(a)

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich and has been remanded into custody.

An arrest warrant was issued earlier this week for Karley FRAYER, 34 years-of-age from Huron East. FRAYER remains outstanding and is believed to have sustained injury during her interaction with police.

31 Year Old From Kincardine Arrested

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On October 21, 2023, at 11:53 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a collision along Walsh Street in Kincardine.

Officers responded to find that a utility pole had been struck and the involved vehicle had left the area.

The vehicle was located, and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Dan CUNLIFFE, 31-years-old, from the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving and Operate over 80 milligrams.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on November 22, 2023, to answer to the charge.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.

Drunk Driver Caught On Hwy 21

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On October 24, 2023, at 12:30 a.m., members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were performing a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) Program on Highway 21 in Georgian Bluffs.

A vehicle entered the RIDE program at which time a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest and was found to be in possession of cocaine and a prohibited edged weapon. The driver was also a prohibited driver.

As a result, Barbara SCHEUERMAN a 48-year-old of Owen Sound was charged with the following:

·      Prohibited weapon: Unauthorized possession

·      Prohibited weapon: Possession contrary to prohibition order

·      Possession of a controlled substance – Schedule 1 – Cocaine

·      Operation while prohibited

·      Driving while under suspension

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 23, 2023.

Fatal Pickup Truck Vs Semi-Truck Collision

(TOWNSHIP OF MAPLETON, ON) – On October 23, 2023, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision at the intersection of Wellington Road 11 and Wellington Road 7, Mapleton. Initial reports indicated that a loaded semi-truck and trailer had collided with a pickup truck and that both drivers were seriously injured.

OPP and emergency service responded. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at scene. The driver of the semi-truck and trailer was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The Office of the Chief Coroner was notified.

The intersection remains closed while reconstructionists from the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) team collect evidence. The investigation is ongoing, and investigators are asking anyone that may have information related to this collision to call Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Karley FRAYER Wanted By Police For Attempt To Commit Murder – Call 911 Immediately If Seen

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment are seeking a second individual in connection with an ongoing investigation in Huron East and Central Huron. 

On Wednesday October 18, 2023, at approximately 10:30 a.m., OPP officers interacted with two individuals. As a result of the interaction, one person was injured, and the second person remains outstanding.

The Huron OPP Crime Unit, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is continuing to investigate the incident and has identified the second involved suspect.

Karley FRAYER, 34 years-of-age from Huron East, is wanted for the following Criminal Code (CC) offences:

·      Attempt to Commit Murder – section 239(1)

·      Dangerous Operation – section 320.13

·      Operation while Prohibited – section 320.18

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 – section 355 (a)

·      Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – section 355 (b) – two counts

FRAYER is described as follows:

·      White female, 5’3″ (160 cms) tall, approximately 180 lbs (82 kgs) with coloured wavy hair.
